Chapter 56: How to deal with being exposed
The concept of time becomes blurred.
When Jiang Chaoyang's consciousness struggled out of the chaos, his temples were throbbing and his heart was beating wildly in his chest.
It's a familiar feeling again.
He lay on his back on the cold table, without even the strength to lift a finger. His vision blurred and he met Liu Tingli's gaze looking down at him.
"You're very skilled," he said.
Jiang Chaoyang was too lazy to answer, nor did he have the energy to answer this question. He just wanted to lie in bed and sleep.
"…What time is it now?"
Liu Tingli's gaze lingered on his exhausted face for two seconds before she replied calmly, "In the evening."
Jiang Chaoyang was so angry that his teeth itched, "You took me so much time, you did it on purpose, didn't you?"
Not only did Liu Tingli not answer, he also turned his head and looked away. Jiang Chaoyang felt like vomiting blood.
Isn't it just that one word? Is that a big deal?
After a while, Jiang Chaoyang used all his remaining strength to prop himself up from the table. The red marks on his wrists caused by the ribbon were still aching.
He stood up shakily, and every step felt like stepping on cotton. Jiang Chaoyang's eyes went dark and he tried hard to suppress the urge to vomit.
He didn't look at Liu Tingli again, nor did he say anything. He moved towards the door step by step.
Liu Tingli just stood there quietly, watching his back as he left.
Jiang Chaoyang didn't know how he walked down the stairs. His consciousness was almost blurred, and he was supported only by the determination not to fall to his death on the stairs.
When he finally stepped onto the platform, his legs gave out completely and he fell straight forward.
The expected impact did not come; the carpet absorbed most of the sound and force, but he also had no strength to move.
Forget it, let’s just sleep like this.
Jiang Chaoyang turned his face to the side, closed his eyes and fell asleep.
——I don’t know how long it took.
Jiang Chaoyang felt as if he was lying on something soft, which was much more comfortable than the cold carpet.
He thought he was sleepwalking and crawled back into bed. He was too lazy to open his eyes. He just wanted to follow the comfortable feeling and sleep for a while. He turned over habitually.
But just as he turned over, his hand seemed to touch something warm.
It doesn't seem to be a pillow or a quilt.
Jiang Chaoyang opened his eyelids reluctantly.
There was no light on in the room, so he couldn't tell if it was his room. Jiang Chaoyang squinted his eyes and looked around, and a well-defined profile suddenly came into view.
“Oh my god!!!”
Jiang Chaoyang's sleepiness was instantly frightened away, and he retreated violently like a catapult.
Suddenly, there was nothing underneath him, a muffled sound was heard, and Jiang Chaoyang fell off the bed.
There was a slight click, and the room lit up, bright enough to dispel the darkness.
Jiang Chaoyang squinted his eyes because of the glare of the light and raised his head.
Si Gongce was half leaning against the head of the bed, wearing dark pajamas. The pair of single-rimmed glasses on his nose reflected the light slightly. There was a laptop in front of him, and he seemed to be working on something.
He glanced sideways at Jiang Chaoyang lying on the ground, then looked away, "What are you yelling about in the middle of the night?"
Jiang Chaoyang asked: "Is this your room?"
Si Gongce hummed without looking up, his eyes still fixed on the computer screen, fingers tapping on the keyboard, "You fell at the stairs and were in the way, so I picked you up."
Jiang Chaoyang: "..."
He planned to lie down again and sleep for a while, so he tried to stand up by supporting himself with his hands, but he had no strength at all and failed after two attempts.
After holding it in for a long time, Jiang Chaoyang simply asked for help: "Can you give me a hand?"
The keyboard typing sound stopped abruptly, and Si Gongce finally looked away from the screen. He closed the computer, lifted the quilt and got out of bed.
He walked up to Jiang Chaoyang and looked at the man sitting on the ground with an embarrassed look on his face.
Jiang Chaoyang stretched out his hand and waited for the other party to pull him up.
But Si Gongce did not pull his hand. Instead, he bent down, put one hand around his back, and the other hand through his knees, and picked him up horizontally.
Jiang Chaoyang's mouth twitched, "Actually, I just want you to give me a hand, no..."
"If you fall again, I won't pick you up again."
Jiang Chaoyang shut up.
Back in bed, Jiang Chaoyang looked at the darkened ceiling, feeling the soreness and weakness in his limbs. He asked, "How long have I slept?"
"one day."
Jiang Chaoyang wasn't too surprised. He glanced at Si Gongce, who looked calm. He turned sideways and faced Si Gongce. "Aren't you curious about why I can sleep all day?"
"Not curious."
"Then why did you let me sleep in your room?"
"Watch your sleep."
Jiang Chaoyang was confused by this answer. He turned over with his back to Si Gongce, gathered the quilt and gently closed his eyes:
"Thank you."
Si Gongce paused.
——Time passed again.
When Jiang Chaoyang woke up again, his body felt much more relaxed than before. As soon as he opened his eyes, he met two pairs of eyes staring at him without blinking.
Fan Mixi and Fan Mizai had entered the room at some point and were standing on either side of the bed, leaning very close to it, both with the same unhappy expression on their faces.
Jiang Chaoyang sat up and looked at the two of them warily: "What do you want to talk to me about?"
"You gave it to him?"
"What for?" Jiang Chaoyang was confused. "I have to pay for sleeping?"
After seeing Jiang Chaoyang's reaction, the two of them looked a little better. Fan Mixi knelt on the bed and approached him, "We brought you here, did you know?"
Jiang Chaoyang frowned, not understanding what the two were doing. He opened the quilt to the other side and tried to get out of bed, but Fan Mizai's hand was on the edge of the bed, blocking him from going down.
"If you know, don't let them get close to you."
Jiang Chaoyang suddenly felt a little funny, he reached out and grabbed Fan Mizai's chin.
Fan Mizai was taken aback when his chin was pinched, but he let him come closer. The next second Jiang Chaoyang grabbed his arm and pressed him onto the bed:
"I really want to stay away from you, but do I have a choice?"
Jiang Chaoyang put his elbow against his chest: "Now you come to tell me not to let anyone get close? Don't you think it's ridiculous?"
Instead of being angry, Fan Mizaixian, who was suppressed, laughed softly.
Jiang Chaoyang was puzzled: "What are you laughing at?"
At this moment, my back suddenly felt heavy.
An arm stretched out from behind him, put his arm around his shoulders and pulled him backwards. Jiang Chaoyang instantly lost his balance and fell into the arms of the person behind him.
Fan Mixi hugged him tightly from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder affectionately, and said to Fan Mizai who had just sat up on the bed: "You almost got killed?"
"You guys have a lot of free time?"
A calm voice sounded at the door.
"Get out of my room." Si Gongce's tone was calm.
The playful look on Fan Mixi and Fan Mizai's faces faded a lot. They looked at each other, and although they were obviously reluctant, they still let go of their hands.
Jiang Chaoyang also got out of bed and planned to follow him out.
But just as he reached the door, Si Gongce raised his arm and hit the door frame, blocking his way.
Jiang Chaoyang was stunned and looked up at him.
Si Gongce approached him and asked, "What do you think will be the consequences of hiding pheromones?"
