Chapter 2: The Tube Building (Part 2) The Strange Dog

Chapter 2: The Tube Building (Part 2) The Strange Dog

"I should have stabbed here first..."

Wen Yin looked at the homeless man in front of her with tears in her eyes, but the corners of her mouth were straight.

She pulled out the blade, and bright red blood sprayed all over her face, making her look like a weak yet weird doll.

"This way you don't have to take two stab wounds..."

The homeless man's eyes widened, and he covered his throat in disbelief as he felt a sharp pain.

He looked at the petite and thin figure in front of him, opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but blood gushed out of his mouth and nose.

After struggling for a few seconds, he fell to the messy ground.

Silence finally returned to the room.

The dagger that I had just bought at the convenience store and was going to use to cut fruit also fell to the ground as if it had fallen out of control.

There was a crisp collision sound.

Then the next second, three extremely regular knocks came from the door behind her.

Knock, knock, knock.

Smooth and long-lasting.

It seemed like he had been waiting outside the door for a long time.

"Hello, I'm your neighbor."

"Excuse me... do you need help?"

-

Wen Yin didn't move, just looked at the bloodstains on the ground and the stack of cash scattered in the bloodstains.

She stood helplessly behind the door, worried about what to do with the body and feeling sorry for her only cash.

After all, the system's functions were limited and it could no longer provide her with the money she needed to survive.

But what seems to be more troublesome now is the enthusiastic neighbors outside the door.

If her neighbors found out that she had killed someone, she would definitely be reported and arrested, delaying the progress of the mission.

Wen Yin was not prepared to open the door, but the noise just now seemed a bit too loud.

Thinking that the neighbors might have heard some noise, in order to avoid pretending that no one was there and letting the neighbors call the landlord, Wen Yin chose to speak out.

She calmed her overly intense heartbeat and spoke slowly through the door.

"Hello, I'm fine..."

"I just accidentally slipped, thank you for your concern."

It's time to leave now.

Wen Yin thought.

But there was no sound of footsteps leaving outside the door, and the other party seemed to be still standing outside her door stubbornly.

"I see..."

A slow and gentle young voice sounded slowly.

"Are you injured? I seem to... smell blood."

Wen Yin's heartbeat, which had just calmed down, became excited again at this question.

Only then did he realize that amid the blood splattered all over the room, he smelled the strong and sickening smell of blood.

Blood was still oozing out of the homeless man's carotid artery, which had been cut by her.

Like a gurgling fountain.

It has spread to the crack of the door.

Wen Yin's heart suddenly rose to her throat.

It's over.

Wen Yin was at a loss, and was about to cry when she suddenly felt a wet and sticky touch on her ankle.

She lowered her head with red eyes, only to find a sticky black shadow slowly climbing up her ankle.

Seeing her looking down at him, the black shadow shrank back a little, then rubbed her trouser leg affectionately as if mustering up the courage.

Wen Yin blinked in surprise, and a tear fell from the corner of her eye and fell directly into the black shadow's body.

The black shadow, which was rubbing with intimacy, suddenly stiffened, and it trembled as if it was burned by Wen Yin's tears.

Then it spread and softened, crawling towards the bloodstains on the ground.

A thick black shadow covered a pool of dark red blood, like a greedy snake eating the corpse of its own kind.

The red disappears and the black expands.

While devouring the cash and corpse in the pool of blood, the black shadow seemed to think for a moment. After a few seconds, the corpse disappeared, and only the cash with the blood cleaned away remained on the ground.

The black shadow wrapped around Wen Yin's calf as if seeking credit, and wherever it went, the bloodstains on the clothes disappeared.

It's here, cleaning up the scene.

The cold and slippery touch continued to move upwards, and Wen Yin felt as if her legs were soaked in mud.

She instinctively moved her legs, trying to get away from the shadow, but accidentally stepped on the fruit knife at her feet.

The blade rubbed against the rough concrete floor, making a noticeable noise.

It is especially noticeable in a quiet space.

"How are you?"

Through the thin door panel, the low and slow male voice sounded again, so close that it seemed to be whispering in Wen Yin's ear.

As the question was asked, the black shadow climbed upwards and completely enveloped Wen Yin.

dilemma.

Wen Yin blinked, her vision went dark, and something cold gently licked her cheek.

Finally it landed on the corner of her eye.

Careful yet reckless.

"I'm fine, you can go back."

Wen Yin was somewhat touched by her neighbor's enthusiasm, but now she just wanted her neighbor to leave early.

The black shadow was still messing with Wen Yin's face, making her cheeks a little itchy.

Wen Yin lowered her voice, somewhat dissatisfied.

"Go away..."

The black shadow paused its licking action briefly, as if analyzing Wen Yin's emotions and mood.

After a few seconds, the black shadow slowly faded away, like a scolded puppy, rubbing against Wen Yin's palm in a flattering manner.

Wen Yin retracted her hand; her palm felt sticky, which she didn't like.

The black shadow was stunned for a moment, it looked up at the girl who had been cleaned by it, and wanted to rub its palm again tentatively.

But then I heard a firm refusal.

"Go away."

Wen Yin continued to speak.

The black shadow finally compromised and receded like the tide, disappearing from Wen Yin's sight.

All that was left on the ground were scattered cash and Wen Yin's newly bought daily necessities.

Wen Yin squatted down, quickly picked up the cash and stuffed it into his pocket.

After she had done all this, she realized that her enthusiastic neighbor seemed to still be at her door.

She called out tentatively.

"Mr. Neighbor, are you still there?"

"Feel sorry."

The low, slow male voice sounded again.

"I'm just a little worried."

"Since you're okay, I'll leave now..."

Wen Yin listened to the other person's voice and suddenly felt a little apologetic.

The neighbor seemed to think that the two words "go away" were directed at him.

A distant relative is not as good as a close neighbor. She should not let down others' sincere concern.

Thinking of this, Wen Yin unscrewed the latch and opened the door a crack with a click.

A tall, slender young man in a beige windbreaker stood outside the door.

Seeing her open the door, he gave her a warm smile through the thin frameless glasses.

Scholarly, gentle and friendly.

This was Wen Yin’s first impression of his neighbor.

She opened the door a little and gave the other person a sincere smile.

"I just bumped into it, it's nothing serious."

"Thank you for your concern."

After Wen Yin finished speaking, she felt the other person's gaze behind the lens gently sweeping over her body, as if to confirm whether she was injured.

After a quick look around, his gaze fell on the corners of her eyes.

Facing the other person's gaze, Wen Yin swallowed cautiously.

Could it be that there was still blood on her face?

She rubbed her eyes pretending to be sleepy, and after confirming with her peripheral vision that there was no blood on her hands, she finally felt relieved.

"I'm glad you're okay."

The neighbors didn't notice anything.

“Shen Sinian, my name is a doctor…If you encounter any difficulties, you can come to me.”

"My name is Wen Yin." Wen Yin also responded politely.

"Since you are fine, I won't bother you anymore."

After Shen Sinian finished speaking, he glanced inside through the half-open door vaguely.

"Rest early."

After saying that, the other party took a step back very gentlemanly and nodded at her.

"goodbye."

Wen Yin stood behind the crack of the door, watching her neighbor turn around and leave. The door of the next door was opened and closed again, and the corridor fell into silence again.

She breathed a sigh of relief and walked out of the room. She still had some things downstairs.

She had to go get it.

-

028 was shocked.

It silently looked at Wen Yin as she came down the stairs again. The girl's back was thin, the corners of her eyes were wet, and there were a few red fingerprints on her neck covered by her collar. Her expression looked weak and innocent.

There is no way to connect her with the "murderer" who killed people with a knife.

028 was shocked, but also a little excited.

It seemed to give a glimpse of the reason why Wen Yin was chosen.

[Host, are you okay?]

028 decided to appease the host's emotions appropriately.

Wen Yin hummed and continued down the stairs. Her thin figure was illuminated by the tungsten filament lamp on the wall, casting a long and sharp shadow.

[Almost…]

Came the girl's voice.

[I was almost discovered by the neighbors.]

[Fortunately, there is "gui".]

028: [……]

It seemed that it was worrying too much. The host's tone was a little weak, but there was no fear in it.

[Huh.]

Wen Yin lifted her foot and stepped down the last step, suddenly speaking in surprise.

Where are my things?

028 As Wen Yin looked towards the door, she found that her pile of daily necessities was gone.

-

Wen Yin was a little worried.

The things being stolen meant she had to spend money to buy more, and the rain was getting heavier, so the convenience store closed early.

Now you can’t buy it even if you want to.

Wen Yin stood under the eaves and touched the cash in her pocket with heartache.

The moment he lowered his eyes, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a black shadow circling around his feet.

He left from her room... "weird".

Wen Yin didn't move. She didn't know what it wanted to do.

The black shadow circled around Wen Yin's feet for a long time. Seeing that Wen Yin didn't move, he just lowered his eyes and looked at her. Then he boldly stretched out a small part of his body and climbed up Wen Yin's trouser legs.

But this time, before it could hold on firmly, a voice said "Don't touch it" from above its head, which scared it so much that it immediately retracted its hand.

It secretly looked up at the human girl in front of it, not understanding why she was still looking at it with surprise and vigilance even though it had helped her.

Is it just because... they are different species?

But it really wants to be with her...

Blend into one...

It squatted at the human's feet at a loss, and suddenly an idea came to it.

Wen Yin watched the dark shadow at her feet gradually wriggling into a ball, pulling and tugging like a lump of dough being kneaded.

Finally, the dough took shape and turned into a black, unidentified creature.

Wen Yin frowned and identified it for a long time before realizing that it seemed to be a dog.

A strange dog with two heads, five legs, and three tails.
