Chapter 45: Eternal Day (Part 9) Ship Owner

Chapter 45: Eternal Day (Part 9) Ship Owner

The night is as dark as ink, so thick that it cannot be dissolved.

The magnificent sea view during the day has now turned into a heart-pounding darkness.

However, the interior of the cruise ship is a different story.

The crystal chandeliers illuminate the banquet hall like daylight, dazzling and brilliant.

The ladies were well-dressed and drinking happily.

Wen Yin was wearing a black silk long dress, which not only outlined her exquisite figure but also made her skin look delicate and fair, like the finest mutton-fat jade.

She still wore the half white mask, revealing only the delicate lower half of her face.

Wen Yin casually took a glass of champagne handed to her by the waiter, nodded gracefully to the other guests, and when she glanced around the room, she actually saw quite a few mermaids.

For example, a naked female mermaid is held in the hands of a middle-aged man.

She had a petite figure, with long, wet purple hair hanging down, barely covering her chest.

The tail, which should have been swimming gracefully in the deep sea and shimmering with pearly luster, was now forced to drag on the cold and smooth floor.

She lowered her head, her body trembling slightly, and she barely supported herself with the strength of her tail.

The man held her fair and plump arm with one hand and put the other hand intimately around her waist, his fingertips faintly fiddling with the scales under his palm.

Apart from the obvious panic on the mermaid's face, from a distance, their posture looked as intimate as that of lovers.

There was also a male mermaid not far from her, being led by a lady dressed in jewels.

Compared to female mermaids, male mermaids are much stronger and taller, but they wear metal bite guards on their mouths, which are so strong that their cheeks are deformed.

His tail fin hung on the ground, and there was an electric shock device flashing with blue and red lights.

The remote control was in the lady's hand.

"no way."

A female guest, who was holding a mermaid-like figure, explained to her companions in a nonchalant tone.

"A male is too powerful. How can you dare to bring him out to see others without some insurance? It would be bad if he hurts someone."

She shook the same style remote control in her hand, as if it was just a small toy.

Wen Yin looked away expressionlessly, pretending not to mind greeting the female guest.

"It would be great if these mermaids could be taken off the boat. The blue mermaid I chose is very beautiful. I like it very much."

The female guest looked at her meaningfully, and a smile of approval appeared on the corner of her mouth.

“I like this one too.”

Her eyes swept across the cheek of the male mermaid wearing a bite stopper beside her, and then fell on the mermaid's scaly belly.

There are a few scales there that open and close slightly, appearing to be raised.

You can vaguely see the hideous and exaggerated size under the scales.

"Much more interesting than those useless men."

The female guest shook the champagne in her hand towards her, looking very satisfied.

Wen Yin shifted her gaze away from the mermaid's lower abdomen, smiled, and raised her glass towards him.

"indeed."

As soon as she finished speaking, Wen Yin, standing in the bustling crowd, suddenly felt a cold gaze.

It seemed as if someone was observing her coldly from across the crowd.

Wen Yin's heart suddenly beat a few times.

She walked among the crowd under the pretense of communicating with her friends, but the cold gaze only passed by for a moment and disappeared.

Wen Yin couldn't find the source of the sight, but she noticed something else that was not right.

There were many waiters carrying trays walking around in the banquet hall, and their movements would pause for a very short moment when they passed by her.

There is also an extremely subtle rolling of the Adam's apple.

[Host,]

028 also noticed the abnormality of the waiters, and there was worry in his childish voice when he spoke.

[It seems like the waiters in the lobby all have that...appetite for you.]

028 paused, then continued: [Could it be that... all the crew members on this ship are strange creatures derived from the influence of a strange source...]

Wen Yin didn't answer. She calmly picked up a glass of champagne, took a sip, and scanned the entire banquet hall.

[Perhaps. After all, you mentioned before that the concentration of strange energy on this ship is dozens of times higher than that of the previous world.]

As soon as Wen Yin finished speaking, the melodious music in the banquet hall stopped.

On the high platform in front, a host in a sophisticated tuxedo walked up with a smile on his face and began a long and gorgeous speech.

It's nothing more than thanking the distinguished guests for coming, praising the captain's greatness, and looking forward to the wonderful voyage.

The guests raised their glasses in response, and the atmosphere reached a climax again.

Wen Yin casually found a seat in the corner and sat down, her posture elegant yet distant, like an observer who was detached from the matter.

As he was speaking, the host suddenly changed the subject, raising his voice with an inflammatory excitement.

"Dear distinguished guests! To thank you for your support, we have a special surprise tonight!"

The host's gaze vaguely fell on the corner where Wen Yin was staying.

"We will randomly draw a lucky cabin number! And this lucky person will have the supreme honor of having dinner with the mysterious and great ship owner!"

The banquet hall suddenly erupted in a louder noise, with anticipation and envy rising one after another.

The light swept quickly through the crowd, and finally, the beam of light stopped on Wen Yin in the corner.

"Congratulations! The lucky lady in room A011!"

All eyes, whether envy, jealousy, or curiosity, were focused on Wen Yin.

Wen Yin was startled, but it was soon replaced by a sense of expectation.

Her face showed just the right amount of surprise and joy. She slowly stood up under the spotlight and nodded slightly in greeting.

Then, another beam of light quickly swept across the scene and finally stopped at the corridor on the second floor of the banquet hall.

Everyone's eyes turned to the light again.

A figure appeared there.

It's the ship owner.

He was wearing a perfectly tailored black velvet suit, the edges of which were outlined with intricate dark gold patterns, which looked luxurious and low-key.

Half of his face was covered with an exquisite black mask, which concealed the upper half of his face, revealing only his clear-cut jaw and thin lips with light color and beautiful shape.

The eyes beneath the mask, even from a distance, seemed to contain a profound power that could see through everything.

He is tall and straight, with broad shoulders and long legs. Just standing there, he exudes a powerful and mysterious aura full of mature masculine charm.

He tilted his head slightly, his gaze fixed precisely on Wen Yin, who was enveloped in the beam of light below. Through the mask, he seemed to give her a very faint smile.

Then he gracefully raised the wine glass in his hand, saluted in her direction, and nodded slightly.

There are no words, but it expresses enough attention and invitation.

Then, he turned around and disappeared into the shadow of the corridor.

After a brief silence, there was an even louder uproar!

"Oh my God! Miss, you are so lucky!"

"Ship owner! Was he looking at me just now? No, he was looking at you!"

"Miss," the lady who had just spoken to Wen Yin squeezed over, her eyes flashing with enthusiasm, "consider exchanging this opportunity with me. How about I give you my best 'collection'! You can do whatever you want with it!"

She shook the remote control in her hand as if showing off a rare treasure.

An expression of shyness and longing, as if struck by a huge surprise, appeared on Wen Yin's face under the mask at the right time, and her voice was gentle and sweet.

"My apologies, ma'am. I cherish this opportunity very much. I believe that no other 'collection' can compare to the favor bestowed upon me by the ship's owner."

Her eyes seemed to accidentally sweep across the place on the second floor where the boat owner had just stood, as if she was savoring that stunning glimpse.

And in the shadows of the second floor where no one noticed, the tall black figure had not completely left.

He was standing there quietly, his gaze behind the mask, like a hawk locking onto its prey, piercing through the crowd and landing accurately on the woman in a black dress below who was wearing half a mask and interacting with other guests.

Her performance of "cherishing the ship owner's favor" just now was clearly seen by him.

A faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, and then he turned and disappeared around the corner of the corridor.

Wen Yin finally got rid of the guests who were talking to her enthusiastically.

A servant in a white uniform walked silently to her side, bowed and made a "please" gesture.

"Madam, please follow me. The owner of the ship is waiting for you."

Wen Yin nodded slightly, ignoring the envious or jealous looks behind her, and followed the servants out of the noisy banquet hall.

The light in the corridor was relatively dim, with only the wall lamp emitting a faint glow.

The attendant walking in front seemed a little more tense than in the banquet hall.

As she turned a corner, Wen Yin clearly heard a suppressed but still clear swallowing sound coming from the front.

The servant's neck turned slightly, as if he was trying to smell the remaining scent in the air, and his steps paused for half a second.

Wen Yin's heart sank.

It seems that the probability that the crew on the ship are all "derived weirdness" is quite high.

The two walked through several corridors and finally came to a heavy double wooden door with intricate wave patterns carved on it.

The servant stopped and bowed slightly, his voice trembling with an imperceptible tremor, as if he was trying hard to suppress his instincts.

"Ms. Chen, the owner of the ship is inside. I wish you... a pleasant stay."

After he finished speaking, he turned around and left quickly, almost as if he was escaping, as if there was something behind the door that made him extremely frightened.

Wen Yin took a deep breath, raised her hand, and gently pushed open the gorgeous and heavy door.

The door opened silently, and what came into view was a world completely different from the hustle and bustle of the banquet hall.

The space is extremely spacious and decorated in understated luxury with dark blue and dark gold tones.

Outside the huge floor-to-ceiling windows is the all-devouring, boundless deep sea night.

A tall and slender figure was standing on the viewing terrace outside the floor-to-ceiling window with his back to her.

The dark hem of her dress fluttered in the strong sea breeze like ominous wings spread out.

He faced the inky black, unfathomable sea, as if he was about to jump into the boundless dark abyss and merge with the darkness in the next second.

As if he heard the door opening, he slowly turned around.

The sea breeze blew the few strands of black hair on his forehead that were not covered by the mask into a mess, adding a bit of unruly and mysterious look.

The half-face mask, against the backdrop of the warm yellow light indoors and the deep blue night sky outside the window, outlines an extremely superior and handsome jawline and thin lips.

Those eyes hidden behind the mask, like the abyss itself, stared silently at her at the door.

He tilted his head slightly, his eyes scanning the spacious room and landing precisely on Wen Yin.

With thin lips parted, a deep and magnetic voice, mixed with the whistling of the sea breeze, reached Wen Yin's ears clearly, carrying an irresistible invitation:

"Beautiful lady, the night view at sea... has a unique charm."

"May I have the honor of inviting you to enjoy this seascape...that belongs to me?"
