Chapter 3: Tube Building (Part 3) Dirty and smelly...
"Woof!"
One of the heads barked happily at Wen Yin, while the other licked Wen Yin's wrist through her clothes.
Its three thick tails were shaking left and right in a disorderly manner. Seeing that Wen Yin's brows were getting more and more furrowed, it barked again, fell to the ground, and showed its dark belly to Wen Yin.
Wen Yin's eyes widened. She actually saw her stolen daily necessities in the dog's dark belly...
Water cups, towels, clothes...
She squatted down in disbelief, raised her hand and tentatively touched its dark belly.
Her hands sank into the shadows and she felt a hard object.
Wen Yin pulled her hand away, and in her palm was the water cup she had just purchased.
There is also a cute black puppy printed on the wall of the cup.
"Woof!"
The two dog heads barked at the same time, and their tails wagged more and more happily. Wen Yin half-squatted, and his calves were hurt by the hits from the tails.
"you……"
Wen Yin stood up in surprise. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the sound of a door opening from deep in the corridor.
The little boy had heard the unusual dog barking and stuck his head out of the house.
The black dog with a strange shape suddenly flowed from the ground like melted ice cream, then turned back into a black shadow and disappeared into the darkness.
Only Wen Yin was left standing alone in front of the humid rain curtain, staring at the little boy who opened the door from afar.
A few seconds later, the little boy slammed the door shut.
The black dog in the shadows gathered together again, circled around Wen Yin a few times, and finally wagged its tail and ran happily into the corridor.
Wen Yin held the water cup, looked around, and followed.
The five-legged black dog ran very fast and jumped up the stairs in a few leaps. Two dog heads popped out from the corner of the second floor and looked down at Wen Yin from above.
Like two black holes so deep that it makes people dizzy.
Wen Yin felt a little dizzy after watching this, so she looked away and just lowered her head to climb upstairs.
Soon, we arrived at the floor. Someone had turned off the corridor lights, leaving only the stair lights emitting a faint light.
The black dog is also missing.
Wen Yin stood on the porch, and the night wind mixed with damp water vapor and the smell of earth blew towards her, making her shiver with cold.
She gathered her thin coat and walked towards 501 at the end of the corridor.
Wen Yin inserted the key into the keyhole and turned the door lock, but it didn't move.
Wen Yin frowned, pulled out the key, and inserted it again, but still no movement.
"What's going on?..."
Just as Wen Yin finished speaking with doubt, there was a sound of something heavy falling to the ground from inside the door.
Then there was a sound of something rubbing against the ground.
Wen Yin's heartbeat suddenly quickened, and she instinctively took a step back.
The door lock clicked softly, and someone opened the door from the inside.
It was a man, a mature man wearing a black shirt, holding a pen in his hand, with a slightly cold temperament.
Seeing her standing outside the door, his brows furrowed slightly.
"What's wrong."
The overly cold bass suddenly rushed into the warm eardrum, and the surrounding temperature seemed to drop a few degrees.
There was a warm yellow light coming from inside the door, and Wen Yin subconsciously looked up at the door in the light.
A small, rusty iron block was nailed to the eaves of the door, with numbers barely outlined on it in peeling white paint.
[601]
Wen Yin took the wrong path.
She went up to the sixth floor.
"Sorry, I went to the wrong floor..."
Wen Yin quickly explained to avoid being mistaken for a thief.
"I live downstairs from you...I..."
"Wen Yin."
Wen Yin held the key, and before she could finish her words, the man inside the door suddenly called out her name.
He knows her.
Wen Yin's scalp felt a little numb, and she looked up at the man inside the door.
The other person had a stern expression, his eyebrows were slightly drooped, and his inky black pupils were just looking at her quietly.
As if looking at something new and interesting.
A few seconds later, the light bulb in the distant corridor flickered suddenly, followed by a slight clicking sound.
It felt like it was being held in someone's palm and crushed.
The corridor suddenly fell into darkness.
Only the faint light from the room remained, outlining the figure of the man at the door with a hazy but sharp edge of light.
And those eyes, which were already dark against the light, appeared even deeper.
"It's okay. It's your first day here, so it's understandable that you went the wrong way."
A voice came from above my head, low and cold, like a clear spring flowing in a mountain stream.
Wen Yin's heart beat faster, as she didn't know the other person's identity yet.
I could only nod in cooperation.
"Sorry, sorry, I'll go down first..."
As soon as the words fell, before Wen Yin had time to turn around, the man in front of her took a step forward and closed the door casually under Wen Yin's gaze.
As the distance suddenly shortened, the last ray of light was isolated behind the other party.
The vision fell into complete darkness.
Wen Yin instinctively stepped back, but the corridor was narrow. After only two or three steps, the rain-soaked iron railings pressed against her lower back.
Cold and clammy.
It was as if something other than rain had instantly soaked her through the thin fabric of her clothes.
"hiss……"
Wen Yin screamed in shock from the cold and subconsciously raised her hand to press on her waist.
A cold and slippery touch passed through my hands.
She seemed to touch something.
"What's wrong?"
In the darkness, that cold voice sounded again.
"The light bulb is broken. I'll take you down."
After saying that, the figure in front of her moved, footsteps sounded, and a fresh scent of soapberry passed by her nose.
Wen Yin stood there for a few seconds to adjust to the light, and then followed with the faint light from the skylight.
The other party only sent Wen Yin to the entrance of the corridor on the fifth floor and then stopped.
The corridor lights on the fifth floor are still on.
Drive away the darkness completely.
"I'll come and give you the rental contract tomorrow. If you have any questions or needs, please feel free to contact me."
The man stood under the eaves and spoke to Wen Yin.
Wen Yin was surprised to realize the other person's identity, which seemed to be the landlord.
"Okay." Wen Yin raised her eyes and looked at the man, who still had an expression that said "keep away from strangers."
"Goodbye, Mr. Landlord."
"Wen Yin, goodbye."
Wen Yin breathed a sigh of relief and turned to walk deeper into the corridor.
When she opened the door, she looked towards the staircase. There was no one there and the landlord had already left.
There was light in the room. As soon as Wen Yin entered, she saw daily necessities scattered all over the bed.
She looked around but didn't see the deformed, clingy, strange dog.
After two rounds of trouble, Wen Yin no longer wanted to go out to wash.
The bathroom was too far away and empty, and she was worried that she would encounter some strange things again.
She quickly tidied herself up and lay down on the bed, wrapped herself in the quilt. After thinking about it for a while, she finally fell asleep.
-
Wen Yin was a little breathless.
My chest felt like it was being pressed down by a heavy mass of mud, and my limbs felt like they were soaked in slippery mud.
My thoughts were groggy and falling.
In a daze, she felt something sticky falling on her eyelids, licking them again and again, like the tongue of some animal.
Someone was calling her name in her ear, Wen Yin, Wen Yin, a tender child's voice with anxiety.
She struggled instinctively and let out a painful groan.
The feeling of being licked on my eyelids paused, and the sound of a puppy panting came to my ears.
She struggled to open her eyes a little and vaguely saw two black little puppy heads lying on her, wagging their tails at her in the dark.
Seeing that she was about to open her eyes, the little puppy whimpered at her affectionately and licked her eyelids again.
Wen Yin's eyelids grew heavy, and she closed her eyes drowsily again.
My eyelids were wet, and even my earlobes and the hair behind my ears were stained with the scent of the puppy.
In her drowsiness, she faintly heard the sound of a door lock opening and closing, and the puppy's tongue on her earlobe suddenly froze.
"Woof woof!"
Wen Yin's chest felt lighter, and she heard two fierce dog barks.
After a few seconds, the barking of the dog stopped, and the heavy pressure all over the body disappeared like the tide.
The smell of cold disinfectant filled her breath.
Footsteps approached, and a slightly cool fingertip pressed against the corner of her eye, twisting it lightly.
“Tsk…”
The visitor spoke with dissatisfaction.
"It's dirty and smells bad..."
As soon as she finished speaking, Wen Yin felt as if she had fallen into a pool full of disinfectant water, and every pore was washed away.
After more than ten seconds, the other party finally nodded with satisfaction.
"It smells much better."
The room was silent, with only Wen Yin's slightly rapid breathing as the sound.
I don’t know how long it took, but the smell of disinfectant lingering in my nose finally faded away, accompanied by the sound of footsteps gradually moving away.
Wen Yin opened her eyes with difficulty, only to see a light-colored hem of clothing disappearing behind the door.
-
When Wen Yin woke up again, it was already bright outside.
The orange-red morning sun poured in from behind the glass window, illuminating even the smallest fluctuations in the air clearly.
Wen Yin lifted the quilt and stood up. When her eyes fell on the water cup with a puppy pattern on the table, she suddenly remembered the dream she couldn't wake up from last night.
And the corner of the windbreaker flashed by from the field of vision.
[028?]
Wen Yin gently called out to the system.
[Did a ghost come last night?]
Wen Yin's face was still pale, and there was no improvement after a night's sleep.
In the morning light, his whole body exuded a sense of fragility that seemed to be about to dissipate.
[Yes, host.] 028's childish voice sounded a little depressed. [And there's more than one.]
Wen Yin listened, her nose moved, and suddenly she smelled a familiar smell of disinfectant on herself.
It looked very much like the hospital dressing room she often visited.
[The shadow... and your neighbor.]
028 continued to speak, and after he finished speaking, he saw the host's thick eyelashes tremble, as if he was frightened.
[The dark shadow kept clinging to you while you were soundly asleep.]
[Then a neighbor came in, and the shadow dissipated and slipped away. The neighbor stared at you furtively for a long time, then left as well.]
[I called you but couldn't wake you up.]
028 has been observing Wen Yin's expression.
As it expected, although Wen Yin looked a little scared, she was more receptive than most people. After listening to its description, she did not do anything extreme.
Wen Yin nodded and gently pushed open the window. The breeze immediately dispelled the overly strong smell of disinfectant in the room.
At the same time, it is mixed with a fresh plant scent.
Wen Yin peeked outside and saw that the wasteland downstairs was covered in dense grass growing unrestrainedly.
Full of vitality.
