Chapter 88 [Chen Sinian - Extra] Wen Yin held a...

Wen Yin was sitting on a bench in the waiting area, holding a registration form in her hand.

The last words of 028's childish voice are still ringing in my mind:

[The world has been rebooted. The target, Shen Sinian, has had his memory cleared. If the host enters this small world again, they can only escape when their natural life ends. The risk is extremely high. Are you sure you want to return?]

She didn't hesitate.

"……confirm."

So she came back.

The world after the restart was quite different from what she remembered. After many twists and turns, Wen Yin finally found out the name of Shen Sinian in a brand new campus.

When the nurse at the front desk heard the name Chen Sinian, she smiled with understanding and a hint of ridicule.

"Doctor Shen? He's a star doctor in our hospital, young and promising. But he's on a rotation in breast surgery this month. If you want to see him..."

The nurse looked up at Wen Yin's pretty face, which was not able to hide her trepidation, and suggested in a normal tone,

"You can go and get his number. He happens to have a number available this afternoon."

So she sat in front of the door of the clinic.

"Next, number 37, Wen Yin."

A nurse opened the door and called out. Wen Yin stood up and took a deep breath.

The door was ajar, revealing a bright light from within. She raised her hand and tapped lightly with her knuckles on the cold door.

"Come in." A voice came.

Wen Yin's heartbeat stopped for a moment.

It was Shen Sinian’s voice.

His voice was still deep and pleasant, with a businesslike professionalism and just the right amount of distance, so clean that it made her feel bitter.

She pushed the door open and walked in.

I saw the back of a man in a white coat standing in front of the sink, with his head slightly lowered, concentrating on washing his slender hands.

Just seeing this back view made Wen Yin's breath stop.

It’s Shen Sinian.

Even if the world is reset and time goes back, his outline is still deeply engraved in her soul.

The doctor turned off the faucet, took out a piece of paper towel, carefully wiped every drop of water from his hands, and then turned around.

The sunlight just happened to shine through the window, casting a light golden layer on his clean white coat.

He wore a pair of lightweight frameless glasses on his nose, and his eyes behind the lenses were as black as ink.

"Wen Yin?"

He glanced at the registration form, confirmed his name, and froze for a moment. Then he raised his eyes and gestured to the chair opposite him.

"Please sit down."

Wen Yin sat down as she was told. Her awkward excuse about breast discomfort instantly vanished without a trace when she met his slightly unfamiliar gaze.

He seemed to be doing well.

The world treated him kindly and gave him an extremely peaceful, normal and bright life.

"Why are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Shen Sinian adjusted his sitting posture and his eyes fell on Wen Yin's face.

Wen Yin felt her cheeks getting hot under his gaze.

She didn't feel unwell and came for the consultation just to see him.

But you can't say it so bluntly.

So Wen Yin gave a vague description, just to stay in this clinic a little longer.

The nurse in the room listened to Wen Yin's vague description and instantly understood that this patient, like the previous patient, did not have any actual illness, but was just looking for an excuse to be alone with Dr. Shen.

After all, Dr. Shen is young, promising, handsome, and has a good family background. He is a golden bachelor in everyone's eyes.

The nurse was waiting for Dr. Shen to harshly criticize the girl who came to join in the fun and occupy medical resources as usual, but she didn't hear words that she didn't expect.

"Needs a palpation. Go behind the curtain and unbutton your top and... your underwear."

To Wen Yin, Shen Sinian's tone sounded businesslike and without any extraneous emotions.

But the young nurse, who knew Dr. Shen's previous style, was genuinely surprised.

Doctor Shen’s tone was too gentle.

Wen Yin followed her instructions and walked behind the white curtain.

In the small space, she could hear her own somewhat rapid heartbeat, as well as the slight rubber friction sound outside as Ana Shen prepared her gloves.

When I unbuttoned my clothes, the cold air touched my skin, causing a small shiver.

Wen Yin lay on the examination bed, looking at the white ceiling above her head, feeling like a stranded fish.

The footsteps approached, the curtain was pulled open a little, and Shen Sinian walked in wearing sterile gloves.

He stood beside the bed, his tall figure casting a shadow and blocking some of the light.

His expression looked very focused, just like a professional doctor.

"Relax."

Shen Sinian spoke in a low voice, his voice deeper than usual, with a tone that was used to comfort patients, but when it reached Wen Yin's ears, it made her tense nerves even more sensitive.

His fingertips, clad in rubber gloves, gently touched the skin of her chest.

Wen Yin's body trembled slightly uncontrollably.

She forced herself to stare at the ceiling, trying to distract herself, but all her senses seemed to converge on the place where his fingers touched.

His movements were indeed very professional, gentle and methodical. He systematically pressed and touched along the edge of the gland, looking for the pain point that Wen Yin had just vaguely described.

The strength of the fingertips is controlled just right, allowing for clear perception of the subcutaneous conditions without causing discomfort.

However, Wen Yin still keenly caught that hint of unusualness.

When his slightly cool fingertips touched the edge of the particles, Wen Yin seemed to feel the other person's fingers pause almost imperceptibly.

Very brief, like an illusion.

"Is this the place?"

He asked, his voice a little grimmer than before.

"……Um."

Wen Yin squeezed out a syllable from her throat and felt that her voice was a little tight.

She still didn't dare look at him, but she could feel his gaze on her skin, so focused that it almost had a tangible weight.

After a long time, Shen Sinian finally withdrew his hand.

"Okay."

Shen Sinian didn't look at her, but immediately turned his back and walked towards the sink.

"Put on your clothes and come out and talk."

The curtain was drawn again, blocking out the suffocating gaze.

Wen Yin sat up quickly and buttoned her clothes with trembling fingers.

The cold air enveloped her again, but it could not dispel the cool touch of the other person's fingertips and the indescribable throbbing that remained on her skin.

Outside the curtain, there was the clear sound of flowing water and the slight sound of rubber gloves being thrown into the medical waste bin.

Wen Yin took a deep breath, trying to calm her rapid heartbeat, tidied her clothes, lifted the curtain and walked out.

Shen Sinian had already sat back down at his desk, writing something on the medical record with his head down.

He took off his gloves, and his washed fingers were clean and slender.

He didn't look up, as if all his attention was focused on the tip of the pen.

He didn't raise his eyes until Wen Yin sat down on the chair in front of him.

Their eyes met.

For a moment, the clinic was so quiet that one could hear the distant sound of traffic outside the window and each other's faint breathing that had not yet calmed down.

Shen Sinian pushed his glasses, the lenses reflecting the light from the computer screen, making it difficult to see the true emotions in his eyes.

"Nothing abnormal was found after palpation."

He spoke, his voice low.

"But since you've described the discomfort, let's do another breast ultrasound to confirm it."

He was working on the computer while the printer spit out a checklist.

The list was handed over and Wen Yin reached out to take it.

Just as her fingertips were about to touch the paper, his hand did not loosen.

Wen Yin was startled and looked up at him.

Shen Sinian tightly grasped the other end of the checklist, and his eyes, which were gentle at first sight, now clearly showed abnormal emotions.

It was a mixture of inquiry and confusion, which was inconsistent with his usual gentle image.

“Doctor Shen?”

The young nurse who was arranging the equipment nearby was keenly aware of the unusual stagnant atmosphere and whispered a reminder.

Shen Sinian suddenly came back to his senses.

The emotion in his eyes quickly subsided, but the fingers that were holding the checklist still didn't loosen their grip completely.

His gaze refocused on Wen Yin's face, and his tone returned to its usual calmness.

"In this way, color Doppler ultrasound examinations require appointments, and the results may take time to come out."

As he spoke, his free hand had already picked up the pen on the table and, very naturally, quickly wrote a string of numbers on the blank back of the checklist.

"Here's my pager number."

He handed the entire checklist to Wen Yin.

"Once the results are in, or if you... feel any discomfort, you can contact me. Just give me my name and this number, and the call center will pass the message on to me."

In this era when mobile phones were not yet popular, it was reasonable for Shen Sinian, a young backbone doctor in the hospital, to be equipped with a pager.

This action is consistent with his identity as a doctor responsible for his patients, but also goes beyond the scope of the conventional doctor-patient relationship and carries a hidden concern.

Wen Yin held the checklist that still had the strength of his pen tip on it, and looked at the neat string of numbers on the back. Her heart felt like it was gently bumped by something.

She understood that this was more than just a doctor's advice to his patient.

He seemed to be touched by her appearance.

"Okay...thank you, Dr. Shen."

Wen Yin lowered her eyes and took the checklist.

Shen Sinian watched her take the number and seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

He stood up, still looking polite. "Go to the payment counter on the first floor to make an appointment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me."

Wen Yin nodded, without looking at him again, said goodbye in a low voice, and turned to leave the clinic.

The door closed gently.

Shen Sinian slowly raised his hand and pushed the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. The eyes behind the lenses were deep and difficult to discern.

The young nurse secretly observed from the side and muttered to herself:

Doctor Shen is...really weird today.

Not only did he pay special attention to the patient, but he actually took the initiative to leave his pager number? This was unprecedented.

Shen Sinian ignored the gazes of others. He sat back in his chair, his fingertips unconsciously stroking the pen he had just written with.

The clinic seemed to still be filled with the faint, fresh scent of her. It did not match any known smell in his memory, but it strangely touched a nerve in him.

The sensation of touch at the fingertips during palpation is clearly present again.

The warm temperature of her skin and the soft elasticity of the subcutaneous tissue allowed him to immediately determine that there was nothing wrong with her...but he still gave himself an excuse to contact her again.

This is so unprofessional.

He said to himself.

As a doctor, he should have been completely objective and free of all unnecessary personal emotions.

But……

From the moment she came into his sight, an indescribable sense of familiarity flooded his heart like a tide.

It's not the familiarity of the face, but a throbbing that comes from the depths of the soul.

It's like finding a lost treasure again.

This thought popped up without warning, causing his fingertips stroking the pen to suddenly tighten.

He must...

Catch her.

-

Wen Yin slept very late that night because she was still speculating about Shen Sinian's unusual behavior during the day.

She always felt that the other party did not seem indifferent to her. This guess made her toss and turn until the sky was slightly bright, and she finally fell asleep.

As a result, she missed the color ultrasound appointment she had scheduled yesterday.

When she arrived at the hospital, it was already lunchtime, and both the consulting room and the ultrasound room were closed.

Wen Yin sat on the corridor in the backyard of the hospital, feeling a little irritated, holding the examination form with the pager number written on it tightly in her hand.

She lowered her head, revealing a long, white neck that looked fragile in the autumn light.

A shadow quietly enveloped her, blocking the flickering light in front of her.

Wen Yin was stunned for a moment and looked up subconsciously.

Against the light, a tall figure stood in front of her, the edge of the familiar white doctor's gown outlined with a faint golden edge by the sunlight.

Because of the angle, the other person's face was a little blurred in the halo, but the eyes looking through the lenses were extremely deep.

It was as deep as a cold pond in autumn, surging with complex emotions that she could not see clearly but could feel clearly.

It’s Shen Sinian.

He seemed to have just come out of the clinic, his white coat still worn meticulously, and he had a faint scent of disinfectant on him, mixed with the dry and warm smell of the autumn sun.

Shen Sinian was at the lounge window and saw Wen Yin sitting in the corridor.

The other person's fragile yet stubborn profile made his heart tremble.

The result was that before his mind could react, he was already standing in front of Wen Yin.

"Why are you here?"

Wen Yin seemed to be unexpected to meet him here, and a hint of clear surprise flashed across her face.

But she quickly suppressed this emotion and turned it into embarrassment.

"Doctor Shen," Wen Yin said softly, "I...overslept and missed the examination."

Shen Sinian's gaze fell on the faint blue in her eyes, and a feeling of pity quietly grew, driving him to blurt out:

"Don't stay up late. It's bad for your health."

The moment he finished speaking, even he himself was slightly stunned.

The concern in his tone went beyond the concern a doctor might show to an ordinary patient; it was too natural and familiar, as if he had said these words to her a thousand times.

He saw a hint of surprise in Wen Yin's eyes.

Shen Sinian's heart tightened, and he almost immediately realized that his gaffe might have caused her to misunderstand.

——Misunderstanding that he is a frivolous person who casually sends ambiguous signals to female patients.

Shen Sinian quickly restrained his outward emotions and tried to use a professional mask to make up for his loss of control just now.

He turned sideways and looked at the outpatient building not far away, and his tone returned to normal.

"I just finished my morning clinic and happened to see you sitting here in the lounge upstairs."

He paused and slowed down his voice, as if to increase credibility.

"I thought you might have missed the checkup time, so I came down to check. The ultrasound room opens at 2 o'clock this afternoon, so you can go later."

This explanation is reasonable. It seems understandable that a responsible doctor would stop by to remind a patient who has missed an appointment.

However, only Shen Sinian himself knew that behind that was the concentration with which he had been standing by the window and staring.

That step along the way was taken by him almost without thinking.

Shen Sinian restrained himself from looking back at Wen Yin, but suddenly heard the girl's sudden relaxed chuckle.

The laughter was very light, like a feather brushing against the tip of the heart, bringing a sense of relief and calmness, instantly breaking the stagnant air around.

Immediately afterwards, a shocking sentence came clearly into his ears.

"Doctor Shen, I heard you are single,"

Wen Yin's voice was filled with laughter, but she was extremely serious, her eyes fixed on his profile.

"Can I chase you?"

Shen Sinian seemed to be frozen in place.

All the speculations about the familiarity in my mind, all the suppressed impulses and confusions, were shattered at this moment by this straightforward and almost reckless question.

Chen Sinian turned around suddenly and looked in disbelief at the girl in front of him who was smiling with a smile on her face but with the courage to burn her boats.

What...did she say?

Chase him?

The raging waves in his heart almost drowned him.

Reason told him that this was too absurd and illogical. How many times had they met?

He wasn't even entirely sure where that sense of familiarity came from.

But deep in my heart, another voice was shouting frantically -

Look, she is indeed different!

She approached on her own initiative!

The sense of cherishment that was lost and regained, the uncontrollable urge to get closer, seemed to have found an absurd yet extremely tempting outlet at this moment.

Wen Yin looked at the undisguised shock on his face and the pair of eyes that suddenly stirred up a storm behind his glasses, and the last trace of uncertainty in her heart disappeared.

She was sure.

Even though Shen Sinian didn't remember what happened before the restart, he instinctively had an indelible familiarity and affection for her.

His reaction, his loss of control, the number he left, his undisguised astonishment at the moment... all confirmed this.

This news finally made Wen Yin feel relieved of the heavy stone in her heart, and even caused her to feel an indescribable bitterness and joy.

This was much better than what she had expected, being treated coldly by him as a complete stranger.

They were all adults now, and she didn't want to waste any more time on endless testing and cautious tug-of-war.

She was fed up with the thoughts that gnawed at her in countless silent nights, and the hands that wanted to touch but then pulled back.

She wanted to stand beside him with dignity, hug him unscrupulously, and feel his real body temperature and heartbeat.

She missed him so much.

My heart aches just thinking about it.

So, the words that had been lingering in her mind for a long time came out of her mouth without any hesitation.

At this moment, she faced Shen Sinian's complicated and indecipherable gaze without any retreat.

Her fair face flushed slightly because of the bold words, but her eyes were surprisingly bright, with a soft stubbornness.

She awaits his trial.

Or rather, she was actively inviting him to step into the unknown world that he might open up for her.

Shen Sinian's Adam's apple rolled slowly.

He opened his mouth, and the solid fortress of rationality in his heart was crumbling at a terrifying speed.

He heard his own voice answer.

"good."

-

Shen Sinian, the golden bachelor in the hospital, seems to be in love recently.

The news spread silently throughout the departments like wings, accompanied by the cool autumn breeze, causing countless single nurses who were still in love to be heartbroken.

"I don't believe it!"

In the nurses' station, Xiao Zhang, a young nurse who had just taken her turn, pouted and tidied the IV tube while refuting the whispers of her colleagues next to her.

"Doctor Shen's personality is that of a gentle and polite person. But he also keeps a distance from everyone. How could he suddenly..."

She didn't finish her words, but the meaning was clear.

Dr. Shen Sinian is well-known in the hospital for his excellence but also for being difficult to approach, like a mountain snow lotus that can only be admired from afar.

Nurse Li next to her was a few years older than her. She raised her eyebrows when she heard this, showing an expression that said "you are still too young" and pointed out the window.

"Well, seeing is believing. It's just after get off work now, so come and see for yourself."

Xiao Zhang followed her gaze suspiciously and looked out the window.

Outside the window, a drizzle of autumn rain began to fall. The rain was so dense that it enveloped the hospital courtyard in a hazy mist.

Through the slightly blurred glass wet by the rain, she clearly saw the familiar tall figure at the door downstairs.

It was Shen Sinian.

He was wearing a dark long windbreaker, with a slender and upright figure. He was holding a black long-handled umbrella in his hand and walking calmly into the rain.

However, he did not leave directly, but turned around and stopped in front of a petite girl holding a light-colored umbrella under the eaves.

The distance was quite far, so I couldn't see the girl's specific appearance clearly. I could only see that she folded the umbrella very neatly.

The next second, the girl raised her face.

The rain washed the glass, and the view was not clear, but Xiao Zhang still caught sight of the face in an instant.

Her fair skin, delicate features, and indescribable gentle temperament made her stand out even in the hazy rain.

The girl seemed to be saying something to Shen Sinian. A bright smile blossomed on her face, with her eyebrows and eyes curved, as if even the gloomy autumn rain was dispelled a little by her smile.

Then, a scene happened that made Xiao Zhang and Nurse Li who was peeking at the side gasp.

Dr. Shen, who always kept a safe distance from others, actually reached out his hand very naturally, put his arm around the girl's slender waist affectionately, and gently brought her into his arms.

The girl also leaned over, her attitude showing complete trust and closeness.

The two of them turned around hand in hand and slowly walked into the misty rain.

The large black umbrella in Shen Sinian's hand was obviously tilted from beginning to end, tightly shielding the girl in his arms, while half of his own shoulder was exposed to the rain, and his windbreaker was darker in color, but he didn't care.

His arm around her waist was tightened, a possessive and protective gesture.

"Did you see that?" Nurse Li nudged the petrified Xiao Zhang with her elbow, her tone filled with understanding and a sigh, "Are you giving up now?"

Xiao Zhang stared blankly at the two figures leaning against each other as they walked further and further away and finally disappeared in the rain. He wailed and suddenly fell on the nurse's table, burying his face in his arms.

"It's over... This time there's really no hope..."

She murmured, and the last bit of resentment and fantasy in her heart was completely shattered by Dr. Shen's unprecedented gentle and possessive attitude.

Golden bachelor Chen Sinian is really...taken.

-

The sound of rain hitting the umbrella made a fine rustling sound.

Wen Yin was held tightly in Shen Sinian's arms, her nose lingering with his unique scent, which made her feel at ease.

The tilted angle of his umbrella and the unquestionable strength of his arm around her waist made her feel sweet and warm in her heart, as if she had a little sun in her arms.

"Auntie...are you really going to let me have dinner at your house?"

Wen Yin raised her head and looked at his smooth jawline, still asking with some uncertainty.

Although she had boldly confessed her feelings in the corridor that day and Shen Sinian had given a positive answer, and the two of them had naturally started dating, she still felt nervous and excited when she learned that his mother had extended the invitation so quickly and solemnly.

"Um."

Shen Sinian looked down at her, a gentle smile clearly visible in his eyes behind the lenses.

"My mom heard that I was in love, and..."

He paused, his voice filled with a certainty that even he didn't fully understand: "She's going there to get married. She's so happy, she's urging me to take you home as soon as possible."

"To get married..." Wen Yin repeated in a low voice, her cheeks slightly hot, but her heart felt like it was filled with honey.

She buried her face in the fabric of his windbreaker and said in a muffled voice, "So...what gifts should we buy later? This is my first time meeting my aunt, so I can't be rude."

Shen Sinian felt her nervousness, and tightened his arms around her, saying soothingly, "Don't be too nervous, my mother is a very nice person. Gift... I'll go with you to pick it out?"

"No," Wen Yin raised her head from his arms, her expression serious, "You have to tell me what my aunt likes, and I'll choose it myself, that way it will show sincerity."

Seeing her look as if she was facing a great enemy but still full of energy, the smile in Shen Sinian's eyes deepened.

He thought for a moment and said, "She likes drinking tea and has some knowledge of tea. Also, the weather is getting colder, and her cervical spine is not very good. A soft and warm scarf might be a good choice."

"Tea and a scarf..." Wen Yin silently noted it down in her mind and began to think about where to buy a gift that was both decent and to her liking.

"I know the department store just got a new batch of chrysanthemum and Maofeng tea. They're said to be of very good quality. As for scarves, I saw a cashmere one last time. It's off-white with an elegant pattern. I think it would suit Auntie's temperament very well."

As she spoke, she unconsciously drew circles on Shen Sinian's chest with her fingers, completely immersed in the thought of conquering her future mother-in-law.

Shen Sinian looked at her profile as she thought seriously, her long eyelashes casting a faint shadow under her eyelids, and her heart softened.

This feeling of being included in her future plans, this trivial yet real daily discussion, strangely filled a corner in his heart that had always been empty.

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

His voice was low and gentle, filled with infinite indulgence.

"She will definitely like what you choose."

-

Wen Yin stood in front of Shen Sinian's house holding a gift and took a deep breath.

Shen Sinian noticed her nervousness, squeezed her hand gently, and whispered, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”

As soon as the doorbell rang, the door was immediately opened from the inside.

The door was opened by a lady with a gentle temperament, whose features bore some resemblance to Shen Sinian.

She was wearing a soft beige sweater, her face was well-maintained, her eyes were bright and gentle, and she was looking at them with undisguised joy and enthusiasm.

To be precise, he was looking at Wen Yin who was being held tightly by his son.

"Here I come! Come in quickly, isn't it cold outside?"

Song Wan's voice was gentle and smiling, and she immediately stepped aside to let them into the house.

"Hello, Auntie." Wen Yin greeted her quickly and handed over the gift in her hand, "It's just a little gift from me. I hope you like it."

"Oh, you're here now, why bring anything with you? That's so awkward!"

Song Wan said this, but her face was full of smiles. She took the gift and put it on the cabinet beside her without even looking at it. Then she naturally took Wen Yin's hand and looked at her carefully, her eyes full of appreciation and satisfaction.

"Is this Yinyin? She's so pretty, Si Nian, this kid has really good taste!"

Her hands were warm and soft. She pulled Wen Yin inside, completely ignoring her son who was still standing at the door.

Wen Yin felt a little embarrassed by her unconcealed enthusiasm, her cheeks slightly red, but her heart was warmed by the word "Yin Yin" and the kindness that came to her.

She quickly glanced at Shen Sinian, who was forgotten at the door, and saw that he was looking at his mother helplessly and indulgently, with a faint smile on his lips.

At this time, a middle-aged man with an elegant temperament also walked over from the living room. He was in good shape and had a kind face. It was Shen Sinian's father, Shen Mingzhe.

"Welcome, Wen Yin."

Uncle Shen's voice was gentle and bookish. He smiled and nodded to Wen Yin, then looked at his son with a hint of teasing in his eyes.

"I've finally got you back. If you don't bring your girlfriend back, your mom will almost think you like scalpels."

This made Song Wan look at her husband with annoyance, but she did not refute. She just pulled Wen Yin to sit on the sofa and asked with concern.

"Is there traffic on the road? Are you cold? Did Si Nian take good care of you?"

Wen Yin's heart softened at the barrage of caring questions, and she answered them one by one obediently.

"No traffic jam, no cold, Auntie, Si Nian... is very good to me."

Her voice was soft, and when she mentioned Shen Sinian's name, it was with natural intimacy, and her eyes unconsciously drifted towards Shen Sinian who was walking over and sitting down naturally beside her.

Shen Sinian received her gaze, stretched out his hand very naturally, and lightly put his arm around her shoulders behind the sofa. This was a gesture full of protection and silent declaration.

When Song Wan saw this scene, she was overjoyed.

Her son has been too independent, sensible and introverted since he was a child. Has she ever seen him get close to a girl so actively and naturally?

The tacit understanding and affection between the two of them cannot be faked.

"Okay, okay, as long as it's good to you!"

Song Wan couldn't stop smiling. She looked at Wen Yin and liked her more and more.

This girl has a gentle and beautiful appearance, clear eyes, and graceful manners. Standing next to her son, they are a perfect match made in heaven.

The worry about her son's life-long affairs that had been accumulating in her heart for a long time disappeared at this moment, leaving only full relief and joy.

"You guys sit down and chat for a while, the food will be ready soon. Auntie cooked a few of her specialties today, Yinyin, you must try them and see if they suit your taste!"

Song Wan said this and rushed into the kitchen again.

Father Shen also smiled and shook his head, and said to Wen Yin: "Your aunt is happy today and has been preparing since morning. Don't be restrained, just treat it as your own home."

After saying that, he went to the kitchen to help.

For the time being, only Wen Yin and Shen Sinian were left in the living room.

Wen Yin sighed softly, turned her head to look at Shen Sinian, and whispered, “Auntie and uncle… are so nice.”

There was a subtle glimmer of tears in her eyes, she was moved, not only for Song Wan, but also for Shen Sinian, who had a happy family after the restart and grew up in love.

Shen Sinian looked at the moved look in her eyes, and the inexplicable sense of emptiness in his heart seemed to be filled a little.

He tightened his grip on her shoulders slightly and whispered back, "Well, they like you very much."

"Just like me."

-

On an early winter night, the cold air had already penetrated the window glass, forming a thin layer of white frost.

But in the bedroom, the temperature was rising steadily and it was warm.

Wen Yin lay on the soft bed, feeling as if she was being placed on a warm fire and being roasted gently.

The man who had placed her in this searing heat was now leaning over her.

Shen Sinian had taken off his glasses. The eyes that were always hidden behind the lenses appeared particularly deep under the dim bedside light, with a dark tide surging in them that was no longer concealed.

His fingers, with the cool and dry touch unique to doctors, landed on the edge of her left chest, exactly where she had described the discomfort before.

Shen Sinian's movements were slow, with a concentration that was almost research-like.

Use your fingertips to press lightly or heavily, touch, and explore carefully along the texture of the gland.

The touch was completely different from the previous examination in the clinic wearing rubber gloves. Now, there was no barrier between their skin, and it felt like the warmth of his palm.

“It’s very healthy.”

He spoke in a low voice, his voice hoarse from suppression, as if he was stating a rigorously verified medical conclusion.

Yet, there are clearly deeper and more personal emotions involved.

The fingertips finally pressed down on the tip that had been standing there for a long time, neither lightly nor heavily, with an unquestionable declaration.

“Hmm…”

Wen Yin trembled all over at his actions and words, and moved impatiently, trying to avoid the overly sensitive touch.

Shame and a feeling of being completely seen through, mixed with her real reaction, made the corners of her eyes red and her breathing became rapid and unstable.

Her action seemed to break Shen Sinian's last shaky restraint.

His deep gaze lifted from her pink skin and locked onto her eyes that were misty, helpless and stubborn.

"Now,"

He leaned over, his hot breath spraying on her sensitive ears and neck, with a sense of determination.

He is completely different from his usual gentle and ascetic image.

"It's my turn to confirm... whether other places are also healthy."

Wen Yin only had time to let out a broken whimper before his kiss suddenly deepened, and she completely sank into despair.

The chill outside the window was completely isolated, leaving only the warming air in the room and the intertwined, disordered sounds of breathing and heartbeats.

-

The stars hang low in the sky, and the night wind, carrying the faint light of the distant city, gently blows across the window sill.

Shen Sinian's palm still lingered on Wen Yin's lower back, his fingertips unconsciously tracing the curve of her spine, as if confirming a treasure that had been lost and found again.

Wen Yin buried her face in the crook of his neck, inhaling the familiar, cool scent of his skin, mingled with a light layer of sweat. She raised her fingertips and traced the faint tooth marks on his collarbone, the mark she had left in her earlier, lost in passion.

"Does it hurt?" Her voice was slightly hoarse.

He chuckled, the vibration of his chest reaching her ears.

He held her restless hand, interlocked his fingers and pressed them against her heartbeat.

"It hurts more here." He guided her palms to her chest. "I don't know why, but every time I see you turn around, it feels like I'm being torn apart."

The soft moonlight illuminated his deep eyebrows and eyes. There was no more darkness there, only unreserved tenderness.

Wen Yin suddenly remembered the shattered time and space when the system was disconnected, and remembered his desperate eyes at that time.

But now all of this has been warmed and melted between the touching skin.

She tilted her head back and kissed his Adam's apple, hearing his suddenly heavier breathing.

"I burned all my escape routes."

She murmured between kisses, "Chen Sinian, you can never get rid of me again."

He turned over and enveloped her, the moonlight outlining his taut shoulders.

In his dark eyes surged a possessiveness stronger than the night.

“Just in time…”

A hot kiss fell down, passing the unfinished words between her lips and teeth.

"I never thought about letting go."

The morning star rises quietly outside the window, and their dawn has just begun.
