Chapter 158: Sudden Changes (Part 2)

Hall simply crushed another queen Zerg egg with his foot, then asked Oakland, Chris and other team members to stay and look after the survivors in case the Zerg attacked again, while he drove the mecha directly to another planet.

After all, only Hall has the strength to compete with the queen insect's mental power. If it were someone else, they might not even be able to find the whereabouts of the queen insect's eggs.

*********

Two days later, Capital Star.

When Derrick Bridges received the summary report and reconstruction application on the 42nd Star Region from the federal department responsible for urban planning and post-disaster reconstruction, the warmth on his face, which always made people feel warm, disappeared, and he almost smashed his own laptop in anger.

It took a good five or six minutes to compose myself, and then I was able to get through to Aiden Gladstone.

"The plan has failed!" Derek roared in frustration as soon as the communication was connected.

Aiden frowned slightly and asked in surprise, "How is that possible? There are hundreds of thousands of bugs..."

"How is that impossible?! Look at the report submitted below! The Second Army won a resounding victory, all three colonies were successfully rescued, and three mother insect eggs were destroyed!" If Aiden were here, Derek would probably want to smash his computer in his face. "Look at that brilliant idea you came up with! Not only did you not kill him, you even found him a group of die-hard supporters! Do you want to check his voter turnout on StarNet? Huh?!!!"

Aiden narrowed his eyes. "Prime Minister, calm down. Williams wasn't this strong before! He nearly died during his expedition to the Twelfth Sector. The Zerg back then weren't even half as strong as they are now. There must be something fishy about his team!"

"What could be so strange? Last time, his lieutenant plotted against him, but what about this time? Without someone he trusts to secretly attack us, we can't even hurt him!" Derek gritted his teeth in hatred. "Do you think he's become suspicious of us? Otherwise, why would his defenses be so strong this time?"

"No, he definitely won't suspect us. We haven't revealed anything, and Arnold Percy is standing in front of us! He'll never guess that we want him dead." Aiden didn't believe his foolproof plan would have any flaws. "Don't worry about the voter turnout. As long as we eliminate the Dark Star forces and kill the culprit Arnold Percy, the people's trust and respect for you will increase significantly. Once Williams is dead, you won't have to worry about the election anymore."

"Death?! But that guy just won't die!" Derek has tried to attack him many times, openly or covertly, but every time this guy would turn danger into safety, as if he had seen through his methods.

"Please rest assured, President. The research institute has made a new breakthrough. This time, we will definitely kill them. We will take action before they leave. Just wait for my good news."

"I hope so!"

***********

Far away in the 42nd Star Region, General Williams was unaware of this conversation in the capital. If he had known, he would have sneered. The two men thought their plan was flawless, but little did they know that their supposedly meticulous plan was actually already in the grasp of Hall and his men. The secrets they had deliberately concealed were accidentally discovered by Hall and Oakland. And although there was no evidence yet of the Zerg's sudden attack, he knew it was definitely connected to them!

After destroying the other two Zerg eggs and dealing with two groups of invading Zergs, the 42nd Star Region was considered safe. General Williams decided to wait for three more days to make sure that there was no Zerg threat at all before they left.

Since there were no houses, the people of the Second Army simply slept on the ground, and the residents were extremely enthusiastic about them, wishing they would stay.

However, when the atmosphere seemed peaceful, General Williams and his men did not relax their vigilance at all. Derek and Aiden would not give up if their conspiracy did not succeed this time. They might even do something secretly.

How did those mother insect eggs get buried in the underground caves? Are Aiden and his men hidden among these seemingly warm and harmless civilians? Until these questions are answered, no one can guarantee that no more accidents will occur.

Two days passed by unknowingly, but on the third day, something strange happened.

A civilian and his friend left the underground cave to solve their personal problems, but he suddenly fainted. His friend thought he was just exhausted from the past few days, so he didn't think much about it. He picked him up and planned to take him back to ask a medic to check him out.

But the man suddenly woke up halfway and showed great aggression towards his friend. He not only punched and kicked his friend, but also bit off a piece of flesh from his friend's arm.

"Tom! What are you doing?! Are you crazy? I'm Jeremy!" Jeremy was shocked and hid aside, covering his wound.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" The man named Tom seemed to not understand what he said at all and rushed towards him screaming wildly.

Jeremy didn't want to hurt Tom, but he couldn't just stand there and get beaten, so he ran towards the camp where the Second Army was resting, hoping they could help subdue him.

Hall and Oakland's spiritual senses were powerful, and they immediately heard the strange noises approaching from afar. They released their spiritual senses and saw a mad-looking man shouting and chasing a bloody wounded man. Although they couldn't figure out what was going on, they decided to go and take a look.

The two of them flashed and soon arrived in front of the two people.

The fleeing Jeremy recognized Hall and Oakland at a glance. One of them was the son of General Williams, whose fighting ability was simply incredible, and the other was a famous herald. When Jeremy saw them, he knew he was saved.

"Help me! Tom is crazy!" Jeremy covered his wound and ran to their side with a pale face.

Hall and Oakland suddenly took a step back at the same time, staying away from Jeremy.

Jeremy was stunned. He didn't expect that the two of them would actually watch someone die without helping. He couldn't help but get angry and shouted, "What are you doing?! Hurry up and save me! Can't you see Tom is crazy?"

"Sir, please calm down first. Something is wrong with you. Please don't come near me." Auckland said with a frown.

But Jeremy was not going to listen to them now, and he ran towards the camp regardless of anything. Since these two people were unwilling to save him, there would always be someone else who was willing to save him!

Hall sighed, then swung his palm and knocked Jeremy unconscious.

By this time, Tom had already rushed in front of them. Seeing the two of them, he opened his bloody mouth and rushed towards them with his teeth bared. Through his wide-open mouth, they could even see the blood and flesh stuck between his teeth, which was disgusting.

Auckland shook his head, his hands flew quickly, and he made a few hand gestures. A fireball the size of a basketball appeared out of thin air and hit Tom hard.

This was a flame condensed from spiritual energy, which ignited almost immediately upon touching it. Tom's body soon turned into charcoal under the burning flames.

Oakland sighed heavily as he looked at Tom's body, and then he looked at Jeremy who was lying on the ground. At this moment, Jeremy's face was pale and grayish-green. From the wound on his arm, you could clearly see something white flowing in his blood vessels.

"he……"

"It's too late to save it." Hall shook his head. "Let it burn."

Oakland sighed again and released the flames, burning it clean.

[A small play written by Mo Shang who always has a problem with eggs]

Lanlan: Hall, there is an egg here too.

Hall: Tsk, you can tell from the color that this is an irregular egg.

Lanlan: Are you stupid?

The soldier ate the egg: Hey, can this egg be eaten? But it doesn't look very good.

Lanlan: You don't understand this, do you? (She glances in Hall's direction) Some things may look ugly, but they're actually delicious, like mushrooms! (^_^)

The soldier seemed to understand and felt quite full. Was it because he ate too much?
