Chapter 34: Slap in the face

"It's you! How dare you destroy my coat of arms!" The man was stunned at first, and then became furious.

"Lord Wood, what's going on?" Several people waiting at the door heard the noise and came in, among them was the currently famous violent bear Mark.

Wood immediately told Mark about the data he had just encountered with Oakland. Then, pointing to the debris left by the exploded emblem on the ground, he said, "He destroyed my emblem! I spent an entire afternoon working on this emblem. I wanted to test its power on you, but now it's all ruined!"

Mark was furious when he heard this. He strode up to Auckland, grabbed his collar and lifted him up from the ground.

Oakland really didn't like the feeling of being coerced. He bent one leg and kicked Mark hard in the chest, actually kicking the 1.9-meter-tall big guy one meter away.

Mark looked at Auckland in astonishment. How could this thin and weak young man with ordinary looks be able to kick him?

"Hey, hey, hey, please don't fight in our store. If you break anything, you will have to pay for the data recovery!" The clerk immediately rushed out and intentionally or unintentionally protected Auckland behind him, separating him from Mark.

This shop was actually quite famous. Not only did they have a store on Star Online, they also had physical stores offline, which was enough to prove the owner's background and financial strength. It was obviously not a wise move to offend such a person. Mark could only temporarily suppress his anger and said, "Okay, I'll give you this face, but he must give us an explanation for this matter!"

Auckland took advantage of the situation to stand up straight, brushed off the non-existent dust on his body, then bent down to pick up his coat of arms. He said calmly, "You need evidence to speak. He dropped the coat of arms and it exploded. What does it have to do with me?"

Wood was immediately furious. "It must be that the energy structure of the emblem you were holding was unstable, which caused the data collision, sending me flying and destroying my emblem!"

"I'll give it back to you in the same way." Oakland sneered at this. "If the problem is my coat of arms, then my coat of arms fell to the ground, how could it be intact?"

Under normal circumstances, overlapping StarNet data won't cause a conflict; at most, it'll just cause an uncomfortable sensation, like someone passing through you. After all, with so many StarNet users, and everyone appearing in the same place at the same time, overlap is common. However, if one person is holding an object with an unstable energy structure, it will affect the data of both parties, resulting in a data collision.

Just like Oakland and Wood, who appeared in the same location at the same time, their data would have overlapped, as if one had emerged from the other's body, but there would have been no conflict. However, the structure of the emblem in Wood's hand was extremely unstable, and Oakland felt the turbulent data flow in that instant. Before he could react, he was ejected.

In other words, even if they did not have data hedging, Wood's emblem would automatically explode in a short time.

Oakland felt that Wood himself should be aware of the situation, which was why he was the first to complain and put the blame on himself.

Sure enough, Wood's expression changed rapidly, and then he glared at him with an even more ferocious look and said, "What do you know?! This is a special emblem! It has hidden properties! It's different from ordinary emblems!"

Auckland was about to open his mouth to refute, but someone beat him to it.

"Oh, some people are really shameless! Impersonation is something they do very well, right? This special emblem was not made by you at all." After hearing the shameless words said by this person at the door, Delagar was almost laughed out of anger by this person. He had never seen such a shameless guy. Not only did he impersonate someone, but now he even dared to turn the tables and put all the responsibility on Auckland.

When his true identity was suddenly exposed in public, Wood's face instantly turned purple and he was shaking with anger, but at the same time, a trace of guilt quietly emerged.

How did this blond boy know this? Could he know the true mysterious herald?

'If that person hadn't shown up, how could I have come forward to impersonate him?' Wood thought to himself in frustration.

After being interviewed by reporters, Wood was always worried that he would be exposed, so he did not dare to say anything definite and only gave some vague responses. He did not intend to impersonate that person, but just wanted to use that person's name to make himself famous.

Wood was actually just an unknown member of the family's side branch. However, after the interview, those in the family who had always looked down on him changed their attitude towards him. Later, people like Mark extended olive branches to him, promising him all kinds of benefits that he couldn't refuse. He didn't accept immediately, but waited a whole day. No one stood up to refute him, so he finally got bolder...

However, he did not dare to agree to make a special emblem for Mark. He just said that it was still in the research stage and the success rate could not be guaranteed. In the end, he only agreed to be a consultant for Mark's team.

Although he was just a consultant, Mark gave him a considerable salary, which made him feel that his decision was correct.

But who knew that just after he agreed to let Mark be a consultant for his team, Mark leaked the news to others, which attracted more attention to him.

These attentions were undoubtedly a sweet torture for Wood, satisfying his vanity but also plunging him into endless panic.

Wood had just received instruction from a master herald in his family, and he'd felt a sudden enlightenment. He'd come here specifically to practice, and surprisingly, he'd created a B-rank herald with quite good attributes. However, when testing the energy levels, he'd noticed wild fluctuations in the data. This indicated a problem with the pattern's structure when he'd drawn it, causing energy instability and the potential for explosion.

Just then, Mark sent him a message, asking him to go to the team and teach their heraldry master. Wood thought it wouldn't be difficult. He was just a student, so his level couldn't be that high. He just followed the words of the master in his family.

So Wood had Mark and the others wait for him here. He planned to use the B-rank emblem to trick them, saying that his communication had arrived at an inopportune time, forcing him to hastily complete the work. A B-rank emblem was actually quite good, not to mention its exceptional properties. He believed this would instill even more trust in him from these simple-minded students.

But he never expected that data hedging would happen. His emblem, which could have lasted for several hours, suddenly exploded. He could never admit that there was something wrong with his emblem, so he took the initiative to vent his anger on the person opposite him.

Wood saw that the other person had an ordinary appearance, was young, and was wearing the system's default attire, so he knew that the other person was not a powerful person. Then he looked at the emblem at his feet. The pattern was so strange, and it had nothing in common with the emblems he had seen before. He also didn't feel any strong energy fluctuations, and he was holding it in his hand carelessly. It must be a failed work of painting, which was why he was so angry.

However, he never expected that the other party would point out that there might be something wrong with his coat of arms. He was anxious and angry, and could not think of any excuse. On impulse, he used the special coat of arms to explain it. Anyway, no one knew what the special coat of arms was.

Seeing the boy unable to answer, Mark's eyes grew fierce. Wood planned to wait for Mark to give him a good beating before graciously declaring he didn't care about the matter. This would make a big deal out of a small matter, and it would both earn him a good reputation and confirm his ability to create special emblems. Afterward, he would go with Mark to the team and give the kids some pointers. He believed Mark would trust him even more and offer him more benefits.

But then this noble-looking blond boy suddenly showed up and exposed his past, leaving him in a state of humiliation. What should he do now?!

Because the noise in the store was so loud, it attracted a lot of people to watch. During the stalemate between a few people, what happened here had already spread on the Star Network.

Hall won a new round of victory. Just after coming out of the arena, he received the news that Oakland was blocked in a heraldic material store by Mark and the impostor.

Oakland is now a member of his team, meaning he is Hall Williams's man. How dare someone bully his people? Is he tired of living?!

Hall no longer cared about earning arena points. He switched to login mode directly, logged in with his authenticated identity, and teleported to the store where Auckland was.

"If it wasn't me, then you did it?!" Wood sneered, "My uncle is Master Leighton Plitt! It's under his guidance that I have achieved what I have today!"

He saw that although there were two people on the other side, they looked young and were probably just students. He wanted to use his uncle's name to scare them and let them know how powerful he was, and perhaps suppress this matter.

When Hall arrived at the door, he heard Wood's words of bullying and immediately laughed out loud, "Oh? Such a big name? It's really scary!"

"Who actually..." After being confronted again and again by people who appeared out of nowhere, Wood couldn't bear it anymore. He was about to curse, but after seeing that handsome face that was as if it were a work of art by a god, he couldn't say a word.

"Hall!" Mark didn't expect Hall to appear here and stand up for an unknown young man.

"Hehe, someone bullied the heraldry master in my team, so of course I had to show up." Hall snorted coldly, walked slowly to Auckland, and naturally put his hand on the shoulder of the boy who was half a head shorter than him. The intention of protecting him was beyond words.
