Chapter 9 Heraldry Lecture - Part 1

Heraldry lecture?

Liu Linchuan immediately became interested and clicked on the push notification, which sent him directly to the location of the lecture.

The large open space was almost full of people. Liu Linchuan arrived relatively late, so he could only sit in the back row. He looked around and imitated the people who had come later, gently stamping his feet in the empty space. A chair immediately appeared.

Liu Linchuan adjusted his clothes out of habit before taking his seat. He cast his gaze towards the center of the venue. A high platform had been erected there, with a long table on top that seemed to have something placed on it. The two masters seemed to have not yet arrived.

He withdrew his gaze and turned back to his own face, where a screen had appeared. The high-definition image quality allowed everyone to see the contents of the table clearly. There were several blank boards and a few pens that glowed faintly silver.

Some people occasionally teleported into the square, but most people were already quietly sitting in their seats, waiting for the lecture to begin. Even if someone occasionally spoke to someone nearby, they leaned in close, speaking softly and in low voices. Liu Linchuan, after all, had reached the second level of Qi Refining, and his five senses had been greatly enhanced. Therefore, he could vaguely hear words like "Master," "Please teach," and "Join." After a moment's reflection, he roughly grasped what these people were thinking.

Liu Linchuan looked around. There were nearly four or five thousand people attending the lecture, sitting densely together, which looked quite spectacular.

I just wonder how many of these people are heralds?

Just as he was lost in thought, there was a sudden commotion in the square. Two people in white uniforms appeared on the platform. They must be the two main speakers of this lecture.

When the two masters took their seats, applause broke out immediately. Liu Linchuan also clapped his hands, adjusted his sitting posture, and focused his eyes on the screen in front of him.

The old man on the right, with white hair and beard, and a gentle and kind gaze, spoke first, "As everyone knows, becoming a herald master requires many restrictions and conditions, so herald masters are very scarce nowadays, and high-level herald masters are even rarer.

But the interstellar Zerg are rampant and the empire is developing rapidly. We need more emblems and more talents to improve our combat effectiveness.

This era does not allow us to be complacent, which is why the Heralds Guild decided to hold this lecture.

We hope that ordinary people can learn about heraldry through our lectures, that combatants can learn to choose heraldry that suits them best, and that heraldry masters can improve their skills through the knowledge gained in the lectures. We hope that through the efforts of the union, heraldry can be better inherited and developed, and that our Interstellar Federation can become increasingly powerful.

I'm glad so many people came to listen to an old man like me explain heraldry today, and I hope everyone can gain something from it. If you have any questions, you can ask them after the lecture, and Roy and I will do our best to answer them.

At this point, everyone couldn't help but applaud again, and only when the old man raised his hand to signal did they quiet down again.

"So, does anyone know the origin of the coat of arms?" the old man said, looking at the people below.

Everyone looked at each other, and after a long time, someone mustered up the courage to raise his hand.

"Okay, then let this brave little girl speak." The old man smiled and looked at a girl in a red dress in the front row.

The girl stood up with a blushing face and whispered, "Our ancestors discovered a wonderful magic pattern in an ancient ruin thousands of years ago. This pattern was drawn on a very ancient piece of paper, and when activated through spiritual power, it could unleash extraordinary powers."

"Well said. You can tell you put a lot of effort into it." The old man nodded with an encouraging smile on his face.

The girl sat back down with an excited smile.

"But this kind of magic pattern is very difficult to draw, and we can no longer replicate that kind of ancient paper. Later, a great herald master spent a long time exploring and finally created the current kind of emblem that can be equipped on mechas or defensive and offensive weapons." The old man added slowly.

When he heard this, Liu Linchuan's breathing suddenly stopped.

Could it be what he thought...?

"So, does anyone know about the classification of heraldry? Is there anyone willing to explain it?"

This time, more people raised their hands, and the old man chose a young man in a blue shirt.

The young man stood up calmly and began to speak in a steady voice, "There are many types of emblems. The most common are enhancement emblems, which can enhance the defense, speed, strength, dodge, hit rate, and so on of mechas and weapons. Another type is special elemental emblems, which can allow mechas to unleash powerful elemental attacks, such as wind, fire, lightning, ice, and so on."

"Well said!" The old man nodded approvingly, and a smile finally appeared on the young man's tense face.

What should I do? The more I hear it, the more it sounds like a talisman...

After the young man sat down, the old man continued, "Compared to weapons that consume a lot of energy, emblems driven by mental force are more suitable for use in combat. Proper use of emblems can increase the combat effectiveness of the mecha several times while also reducing the loss of the mecha's energy.

Heraldry is divided into five levels: S, A, B, C, and D, based on the level of effective energy. The higher the level, the better the attributes of the heraldry, and the greater the power it can exert.

"Next, I'll briefly explain the method for creating a heraldry. The heraldry artist infuses the magic crystal pen with mental power and then draws it on the energy board. However, when creating a heraldry, not only is a strong mental power required, but also precise control of it. Only in this way can the smoothness and integrity of the magic pattern be maintained to the greatest extent possible, thus producing a high-level heraldry."

The level of an emblem is greatly influenced by the magic pattern. Drawing the most basic magic pattern on an energy plate can potentially yield a C-level or higher emblem due to its stability and integrity. Even drawing the most difficult elemental magic pattern can still result in a C-level or even D-level emblem due to a single mistake by the herald master. Therefore, for herald masters, it is crucial to cultivate and control their mental power.

Liu Linchuan reached out and touched his chin. It sounded like these future people used insect crystals instead of cinnabar, used mental power instead of spiritual power and spells, and used energy boards instead of talismans!

"Now, let Roy explain in detail how to create a coat of arms."

While Liu Linchuan was thinking, the scene had switched to Roy's side. In the picture, a slender and white hand slowly grasped the pen that was shining with silver light.

"Thank you Mr. Butler for your detailed explanation. Now let me explain to you in detail the process and method of making coats of arms. You can see that the one I have in my hand is a magic crystal pen specially used for coats of arms. It can also be called an insect crystal pen because the pen body is made of insect crystal. It has the function of transmitting mental power and can use its special hardness to carve on the energy plate." The herald master named Roy had a clear and soft voice. He didn't sound very old, but the camera was always focused on his hands and his face could not be seen clearly.

"This kind of insect crystal exists in the body of every Zerg. These greedy Zergs constantly devour everything they can devour and convert it into this kind of insect crystal in their bodies. After returning to the hive, it will be provided to the queen as energy for consumption. So the Zerg is also a resource for us." When he said this, he also smiled softly, which resonated with everyone present, and the atmosphere suddenly became a lot more relaxed.

"Now let's talk about this energy plate. It's made from a fusion of energy stones and alloys, and it's rich in energy. Because it contains metal, it's extremely hard. Only with a magic crystal pen can one imprint their mental power onto the plate's surface, drawing magic patterns and thus creating a crest. These patterns can fully stimulate and utilize the energy contained within the energy plate, enhancing specific abilities or unleashing the effects of specific skills."

"Next, I'll demonstrate the creation of the most basic power-enhancing emblem." Roy waved his hand slightly, and an image appeared on the screen. It was an extremely complex pattern, layered on top of each other, with no pattern or aesthetic appeal. It also seemed a bit strange, and staring at it for too long would make you dizzy. "This is a basic magic pattern that can enhance power. Those with weak mental strength should not stare at it too long."

The corners of Liu Linchuan's lips rose slightly.

Isn't this so-called 'basic magic pattern that can enhance strength' the prototype of the giant power talisman?

It was like someone offering a pillow when he was sleepy. He was just worrying about how to make money when this way of making money came to him. You know, he was once a famous talisman cultivator in the world of cultivation, and making talismans was his main business.

He was still hesitating whether to wait until his cultivation level was higher before trying to switch to the mecha combat system, but now it seems that the heraldry system is more suitable for him.

He had learned from the original owner's memory that the value of the coat of arms was very high. If he could make the coat of arms himself in the future, it would be much easier to make money!

Perhaps it was influenced by the original owner's memories, but now he couldn't help but care about money, which he had disdained in his previous life. Perhaps the original owner had always lived in a luxurious environment, never having any property or life of his own. Looking at the pitiful balance in his account, one could imagine how tight his daily life was.

No matter in which world, the strong are always respected. He can't continue to be unknown, otherwise he will end up like the original owner, not even knowing how he died!

Now that poor child is gone, and Liu Linchuan is not someone who can be bullied at will.
