Chapter 34 The Powerful Sheena

To the south of Holy Spirit City lies a continuous forest.

The area is rife with miasma, and monsters infected by the abyss's aura are locked in a fierce battle with powerful local tribes, neither able to gain the upper hand.

Today, an unexpected guest arrived here.

An elven archer dressed in dark purple leather armor stepped into the dense forest alone. With each step she took, the flowers, plants, and trees within a ten-meter radius around her seemed to be drained of their life force, withering and dying.

This is her second skill: dedicating her life.

It can continuously draw life force from all living beings around it to replenish itself, and briefly regain the feeling of having been a living person.

"It's...a truly intoxicating feeling."

Sheena's crimson eyes swept across the depths of the dense forest, and she immediately spotted several gnolls hiding behind a large tree 30 meters away, secretly aiming poisoned crossbow bolts.

With the longbow in hand, arrows flew like thunder.

Three black arrows pierced through the trees and through the gnoll's body in an instant.

Sheena continued forward without looking back. Skeleton warriors slowly rose from the corpses of the gnolls, picked up poisoned crossbow bolts, and followed closely behind.

Her first skill, Necromancer's Arrow, can transform any slain creature into an undead. After advancing to the Ultimate Demon Arrow skill, she not only retains this effect but can also fire up to sixteen sure-hit arrows simultaneously.

To prove the value of the Netherworld to Jiang Yan, Sheena didn't hesitate at all; her arrows, as if on autopilot, accurately struck every enemy in the shadows.

In just over an hour, more than 300 skeleton warriors had gathered behind her.

They wantonly destroy the jungle, slaughtering living beings and monsters.

This behavior quickly attracted the attention of a local force—an ogre tribe. They gathered on the only road ahead, set traps, and waited for their prey to come to them.

“Interesting. We were just looking for a guide, and this opportunity has come knocking on our door.”

A mocking smile appeared on Sheena's lips as she commanded the skeleton army to advance towards the ogre tribe.

The jungle was fraught with danger. Some of them were devoured by man-eating plants, while the skeleton warriors behind them cleaved the plants and people in two with a single, decisive strike.

Some accidentally sank into the swamp, but did not struggle at all, letting their companions behind them step on their heads to walk over them.

These skeleton soldiers showed no fear, and like the bravest warriors, they swept away all obstacles in their path until they reached the encirclement of the ogre tribe.

They stepped into the makeshift traps, which were merely covered with weeds, as if they hadn't even seen them.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

A group of ogres, each over two meters tall, wielding spiked clubs and with hideous appearances, emerged from behind the trees and burst into laughter.

"So they're just a bunch of the lowest-level undead creatures." A particularly tall ogre grinned disdainfully. "Kill them."

"Yes, Chieftain!"

Hundreds of ogres roared and charged forward, brandishing their spiked clubs.

Thud! Smack!

These skeleton warriors were created from the bones of weak creatures. Even with the aid of necromancy, they were no match for the spiked clubs weighing hundreds of pounds and were smashed into pieces one after another.

Their full-force strikes landed on the ogre's rough, thick skin, but only left non-fatal bloody marks.

In just five minutes, more than 300 skeleton warriors were killed or wounded, leaving behind a pile of bone fragments.

Aside from one particularly unlucky ogre that was surrounded and killed, the others only suffered minor injuries.

But Sheena was in no hurry. Her crimson gaze lingered on the exceptionally tall ogre, and a wicked smile appeared on her lips: "Found you."

"These undead creatures are truly despicable. Not only do they offer no treasure, but they can't even provide food. What a waste of time." The ogre chieftain spat and was about to call his people to leave when a sudden sense of fear washed over him.

It instinctively looked north, and a pair of bright red eyes were imprinted in its mind.

—This was its last thought.

Cursed Seal, Sheena's second skill, can forcibly control any non-special being below the level of a god. The upper limit and number of such beings increase with her strength.

The ogre chieftain was merely a silver-level ordinary being, not even qualified to resist.

Snap... Snap...

Accompanied by the sound of footsteps, Sheena slowly walked out from behind.

"Hey, there's another enemy. Looks like we can eat him." The surrounding ogres grinned and were about to step forward when they were stopped by the ogre chieftain.

"Stop, you fools!" The ugly and ferocious ogre chieftain, now like a tamed lapdog, scurried up to Sheena and prostrated himself on the ground: "Master."

"What's going on? Why is the clan leader kneeling in front of a piece of food?!"

"He has betrayed the honor of the ogres and is no longer worthy to be our chieftain!"

"Kill him too!"

The surrounding ogres exchanged glances, but soon their greedy expressions were revealed. As long as they killed the chieftain, they could enjoy the fresh food that he had collected.

“It seems your people want to kill you.” Sheena looked at these inferior creatures with great interest.

"Master, please allow me to destroy them," the ogre chieftain asked, raising his head. A closer look revealed intricate incantations faintly visible in his eyes.

"No need, these are all excellent materials to become skeleton warriors."

Bang bang bang—!

The bowstring vibrated, and dark arrows rained down like a storm, piercing the hearts of each ogre with pinpoint accuracy.

"Ahh!"

Screams rose and fell as they brandished their spiked clubs in an attempt to retaliate, but they all collapsed before they could even get within ten meters of Xina.

Soon, one by one, skeleton warriors with bones much thicker than before rose from the corpses scattered on the ground. They picked up their spiked clubs and stood silently in place, waiting for instructions.

"Summon all your people," Sheena coldly ordered.

This is why she didn't kill the ogre chieftain, but instead controlled him. Searching aimlessly is nowhere near as efficient as gathering together and killing him all at once.

She could sense a menacing presence thousands of kilometers to the west, someone even more powerful than herself, and she had to prove her worth as soon as possible.

Without any hesitation, the ogre chieftain took off the bone whistle from his neck and blew it forcefully as he walked.

The whistle spread out accompanied by a special magical fluctuation.

In less than an hour, according to Sheena's perception, thousands of ogres were arriving from all directions.

"Are these all your people?" Sheena asked.

"Yes, Master, I played a tune that the ogre clan only plays when their lives are in danger. All the clansmen who can walk must rush to their destination upon hearing it," the ogre chieftain said with a pleased expression, seeking credit.

"You have done well, so I will reward you... serve me forever."

puff...

A black arrow pierced the ogre chieftain's chest, and on his gloating corpse, an exceptionally tall skeleton rose and quietly walked to the side.

“Despicable, ruthless, and unscrupulous.” Sheena said expressionlessly as she slowly raised her bow and arrow, aiming at the approaching ogre.

"From the moment I became a ghost, I knew what kind of path I should take."

Amidst a rain of black arrows, the screams gradually subsided, and thousands of snow-white skeletons slowly rose to their feet.
