"Tell me honestly, how did you two meet?" After logging off the Skynet, Anhe ran over from the dormitory next door.
Lian Han replied, "Didn't he say that he saved me?"
Anhe rolled her eyes, clearly not believing her explanation. "So this is how you treat your savior?"
"Otherwise what?"
Anhe looked at her with a mischievous grin, "Like offering yourself in return. I think General Ning treats you quite specially, while I was completely ignored the whole time, okay?"
"I am seventeen years old."
“The general isn’t old at all, only in his thirties, still in his prime,” An He said with a grin.
"Why don't you go?"
"Don't joke around, I have a boyfriend," Anhe said irritably.
Hearing her bring this up herself, Lian Han raised an eyebrow. "Speaking of which, who exactly is your little brother? We haven't known who he is since you started dating half a year ago. Don't let him get away with this if you get bullied."
"No, it won't happen." Anhe smiled, but there was hesitation in her eyes. "Never mind, you'll know when you come to my house during summer vacation."
"You've already met the parents?" Lian Han asked in surprise. "So fast? Your family already knows, why were you keeping it from us?"
Hearing her persistent questioning, Anhe gave a wry smile and changed the subject, "I was just about to tell you the truth. You'll find out during the holidays. Okay, so the materials for the mecha are half and half, or something?"
“You provide the venue, I’ll take care of this. I can’t even gather all those things on my own,” Lian Han said.
"These aren't cheap. Are you looking for your brother?"
Anhe knew a little about the prices of those metal materials; each one was almost enough to buy a villa in the capital. Especially since they were making mecha, the amount they needed would definitely be substantial.
"Why would I need them? I already said I'm doing this on my own. Here's the list, just wait and see, I'll have it all before summer vacation starts," Lian Han assured him.
"Okay. Good luck then. You can tell me if you encounter any difficulties."
Lian Han nodded, then An He asked, still unwilling to give up, "You really aren't interested in the general?"
What are you interested in?
Anhe: "...General Ning is the man that all women in the Federation most want to marry."
"What does that have to do with me?"
An He paused for a moment, her gaze strange. "You're seventeen already, it's time for your heart to flutter. Not even interested in the General's stunning good looks? Lian Han, you—you don't actually like men, do you?"
Lian Han: ?!
Lian Han smiled at An He, then suddenly leaned in, nose to nose, almost kissing her. "Baby, you guessed right. I do like you. So, how about it? Want to consider being with me?"
“…Stop messing around.” Anhe pushed her away, her lips twitching.
"You started this. Anhe, what kind of nonsense are you thinking? I'm female, so why would my hobbies be female?"
That's not necessarily true. There are plenty of people with unique tastes. An He, seeing the dangerous smile on Lian Han's face, wisely chose to only internally criticize him.
"Okay, okay, I was wrong. Let's work on the simplified version before the holidays start. That way, we can have more free time during the summer vacation."
Just as Lian Han was about to agree, the AI suddenly lit up, displaying the contact person—Ning Jue.
Lian Han raised an eyebrow, completely ignoring him. "Fine. How about half for each of us?"
"Of course. Last time you were in charge of the body and head, and I was in charge of the limbs. Let's switch roles this time. We can discuss any problems together."
"Okay, let's do it this way." After assigning the tasks, Anhe left. He was essentially a workaholic.
Not long after Anhe left, someone else requested to contact him. Lian Han hesitated for three seconds on the word "decline" before finally clicking "accept".
"What's up?"
"We're not familiar? Then how do you want us to become familiar?" Ning Jue asked.
"...I don't want to get too close. I'm busy, I'll hang up if there's nothing else."
"I just looked at your design drawings. Should I arrange the materials?"
"No need. I have money, thank you."
Ning Jue's voice carried a hint of amusement, "Are you sure?"
"OK. Goodbye." Lian Han hung up decisively.
But her mood soured when she asked Jingli to buy the materials. The man frowned, holding the list she provided. "Should you talk to Ning Jue yourself, or should I go?"
Why are you looking for him?
Jingli raised an eyebrow and pointed to an item on the list, "Cedric Crystal. Since you used it, you should know that only our General Ning has this."
Lian Han: ?!
"No, I don't know," the girl said with difficulty, her lips twitching.
"So now you know. This crystal is Ning Jue's private property, discovered on some unknown planet." Jing Li smiled knowingly, as if she understood everything. "You're going to ask him for it?"
"No, no, you go ahead. I still have classes and studying. It's almost the end of the semester, and I still have exams to take." Lian Han waved his hand.
She never seemed to care about final exams back then, even when she was away from school for months at a time! What's there to worry about now? Jing Li still smiled and agreed. The teacher might hope they got together, but he didn't. So he really didn't mind causing some trouble; if it annoyed that kid, even better.
After handing the list to Jingli, Lian Han left it to her own devices; she still trusted her senior brother's abilities. Besides, they were busy with the replacement of the mecha materials.
The mecha was a single unit, a unit that Lian Han and An had painstakingly pieced together. Replacing one or two materials was manageable, but the whole thing—that was a massive undertaking. By the end of the final exams, they hadn't even finished half of it.
As for the final exams she used as an excuse, with Anhe around, it's not a problem at all. For details, please refer to the cramming she received after taking several months of leave earlier. Now that Lian Han is attending classes diligently again, she can certainly guarantee that she won't fail.
