Chapter 37 Liz's True Nature

Infused with spiritual power, the card with dark gold trim quickly transformed into a bewitching woman. Her golden vertical pupils scanned the surroundings before finally settling on Ling Yue. "Where is Master? Where did you hide Master?"

Lian Han: She didn't even sense that Liz was nearby? The sealing effect of the punishment card is too overpowered. But Big Brother did borrow Liz's card from her before. So that's what it was for.

She's not here.

"Not here?" Liz blinked, her voice suddenly turning icy. "Then, human, why did you wake me up again? Did you think the punishment last time was too lenient?"

"As we discussed before, you're only leaving temporarily."

Liz licked her lips, and in a flash, she appeared in front of Ling Yue, striking with a claw! Ling Yue was prepared and narrowly dodged to the side.

"The person who advised me to leave my master last time was slaughtered by my sister when she was in a bad mood. Don't think that just because you're the young master's brother, you can recklessly cross my bottom line!"

"It's only temporary. In less than a month, what kind of relationship could you possibly have with a girl?" 3S's mental energy enveloped the entire area, attempting to restrict her movements.

"Old man, it's you." Liz turned her head and looked at Marshal Han. "Tsk tsk! You've gotten so old. But even though you're old, your 3S strength is enough for me to return to my peak! I'll reluctantly—eat you!"

A flash of blood, and Liz's hand pierced through the protective shield and plunged into the old man's shoulder.

Marshal Han was taken aback. "How could this be? You're not..."

"It's not just about ignoring energy-based attacks?" Liz's lips curled into a cruel smile. "Master loves Liz the most. After discovering that Liz's attack power was insufficient, he came up with a solution. As long as the protective shield is treated as another form of attack, I can ignore it. How about that? Master is pretty amazing, isn't he?"

Zerg and humans are mortal enemies. She only lives peacefully with humans because she is by her master's side, and now she has to add another little master. Without the fear of being discovered by Lian Han, the Zerg's bloodthirsty nature is being released little by little.

"madman!"

"Dare to curse your master? I think you don't want to..." Her arm was grabbed, and Liz turned her head to look at the reckless young man, "Do you really want to die?"

“If you kill someone here today, your new master will not tolerate you,” Ling Yue warned.

Liz thought for a moment, then pulled her hand away from the old man's shoulder and wiped it with his military uniform. "That's right. The young master certainly doesn't want to smell the blood on me."

Just as Ling Yue was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he saw Liz suddenly grab his neck and lift him up. "Human, this is your last warning. Liz belongs to two masters. If you dare touch Liz again, I will devour you."

"As for our little master—you don't actually think we'd acknowledge anyone other than our creator as our master, do you? How foolish! I just need to stay by our little master's side. Whether she's injured or disabled, strong or weak, it doesn't really matter!"

Liz said, enunciating each word clearly, "As long as I'm by her side, I can achieve what I want. Until then, all that tries to separate us is food!"

After saying this, Liz released her grip and transformed back into a card. "Human, please return me to my little master safely."

Lian Han: ...

Ling Yue: ……

Everyone: ...

"This card is not under anyone's control," the general said softly as he watched Marshal Ruan treat Marshal Han's wound.

“That’s true. I’m sorry, Marshal Han. She’s as docile as a kitten in front of my little sister, but she’s like this once she’s away from her.” Ling Yue said.

"What did she mean by 'we' just now?" someone asked.

"You don't really think we would acknowledge someone other than the Creator as our master, do you?" What does this mean?

“This is the third time I’ve been attacked by Liz. We suspect that Liz may not be an isolated case.” Ling Yue put the card into the card box, then took out a stack of paper documents and distributed them. “This is a summary of the Wen family’s public performance over the past two years, compiled by my brother.”

After reviewing the information, the council chamber fell into a deathly silence. Someone spoke up: "His Majesty once said that all the character cards are his closest partners, and he will treat them all equally."

What about the cards they have?

"We, the Ming family, have no objection to the previous proposal."

"The Lance family seconded the motion."

"I second that."

"I second that."

Those who were previously heartbroken suddenly turned against their cards, wishing they could throw them far, far away. This is a ticking time bomb!

"So, this card from the Ling family..."

"My little sister really likes Liz. I'm going to ask her what she thinks at noon. If she's willing, Liz might not go berserk." If that's the case, we'll send them both to the Abyss.

Lian Han: ... She felt she needed to calm down. Although she had known for a long time that the character card was not subject to anyone, Liz was actually thinking of hurting or crippling her—was she acting too harmless?

The briefcase was picked up again, and Ling Yue carried her away from the underground. The council meeting had obviously ended.

I just don't know what they're going to do with the character cards. And what exactly did the information my second brother handed them say that made their expressions change so drastically?

These two questions passed through Lian Han's mind, but they didn't leave much of a ripple. It was actually good to let these people know that character cards don't recognize owners, since even Old Man Xing didn't want his cards to cause any trouble in the future.

"Second Young Master, how is it?" Back in his office, Rong Qi no longer addressed him as "Major General".

"We have convinced the heads of the various families that we can keep this card."

"But your neck..."

"I was scratched by a cat."

"It was clearly pinched." Rong Qi thought to himself, then said, "Since her danger has been confirmed, why protect Liz? What if Miss..."

"The Ling family will provide her with the strongest defense; she just needs to be happy," Ling Yue said calmly.

But how can you defend against a 3S-level card? Rong Qi was conflicted, but he didn't ask any more questions. Once the Ling family set their mind on something, they would go all the way down that path, and all he had to do was obey.

The briefcase was placed on the sofa. Lian Han "looked" at the young man's cold profile and thought: Second Brother doesn't actually dislike her, does he? Otherwise, why would he bother with her...?

"Bang!"

Lian Han felt as if a heavy object was pressing down on him, but the other person seemed completely unaware that something was pressing down on him, staring straight at Ling Yue, "Grandpa is injured."

"I'm sorry." Ling Yue stopped what she was doing and looked at him. "The Ling family has prepared compensation."

"You knew that broken card would hurt someone?" Han Yuqi's face was grim.

"Yes. But she's a bit crazy, and it's uncertain who she'll target, so I reminded everyone here to activate their defenses."

"Then why did you only target my grandfather?"

"This was an accident." Moreover, it seems that Liz and Marshal Han have a grudge.

"You think you can explain it all away with just an accident? Ling, you're really something! My grandfather is still in the medical pod!"

In fact, if Marshal Han hadn't been lying in the medical pod and hadn't been too busy to deal with him, he wouldn't have gotten into this mess.
