Chapter 56 Law Enforcement Robots

[Main quest completed: Become a student in the 4710-level Armor Crafting Academy's elite class. Quest reward: "Intermediate Card Crafting Blueprints (Fragment)"]

[A side quest has been triggered, allowing you to maintain your status as a top-tier student for three years.]

Lian Han: ...She didn't want to say anything anymore.

It was already 11:30 when Lian Han finished class. With a sense of helplessness, he left the dormitory and followed his contractual instincts to find a certain disobedient fox.

Then—as Lian Han walked, she reached the border of the Armor Academy. She had looked at the map before, and the other side should be the Mecha Academy.

[They've even crossed over to other colleges. Tsk, the little guy can really run. He's even more energetic than our Xingye.] Old Xing gloated.

Lian Han: [Is Xiao Ye not so obedient anymore?]

Withdrawing his extended spiritual power, Old Man Xing said, "[Go in and look for him. The little guy is definitely inside.]"

Hearing Old Man Xing's malicious tone, Lian Han raised an eyebrow and stepped into the mecha academy's area. She could remotely turn Xing Yan into a card and recall her, but what if someone saw her…

Old Xing's perverse sense of humor was at most meant to embarrass her. She wanted to see what it was; she hadn't been to the mecha academy before, so this was a good opportunity for a visit.

Having figured this out, Lian Han quickened her pace while keeping an eye on her surroundings. Seeing the large characters "Mecha Training Ground," Miss Lian's face finally darkened. Xingyan!

Does she want to die?

Although the mecha training ground is divided into a mecha parking area and a training area, heaven knows which side that fox went to.

"Beep! Your permissions are insufficient; you cannot enter."

Lian Han was taken aback, then realized she was being stared at. Although she was the type of person who easily attracted attention, she was certain these people weren't looking at her because of her appearance!

As noon approached, many mecha academy students were heading to lunch after finishing their training. The electronic announcement prohibiting entry at the training ground entrance immediately alerted those coming and going. Everyone's gaze swept over the area and invariably fell upon the beautiful woman with flowing black hair and a blue badge—she must be from the neighboring mecha academy.

"Junior from the Armor Academy, first-year students from other academies aren't allowed inside. Is there anything I can help you with?" a senior student kindly reminded her.

“My pet has escaped; its location is inside,” Lian Han replied, while ordering Xing Yan to come out.

The young man paused, then looked at the girl again. Her beautiful face was frosty, and she didn't seem to be lying. "Junior, look again, are you sure you're not mistaken? Just like what you just did, pets can't go in without someone on them."

"Let me take another look." Lian Han lowered his head and opened the smart device, while simultaneously giving Xing Yan a triple barrage of urgent requests.

Sensing the little fox rapidly approaching her location, Lian Han's brows furrowed; Xiao Yan had finally remembered her.

“She’s approaching. We should come over immediately,” Lian Han said.

Dai Li raised an eyebrow, glanced at the men around her who were eyeing her covetously, and quickly decided to stay here and wait with her.

Armor-making and mecha are only one word apart, and they complement each other perfectly. Since we've run into each other, I should probably help out my junior.

If Lian Han said "immediately," then it must be immediately. Feeling a gust of wind, before Dai Li could even turn her head, the girl was already holding a little one in her arms.

Lian Han suppressed the urge to settle scores and said to Dai Li, "I'm back. Thank you, senior. I probably won't be coming again."

"I didn't help much. My name is Dai Li, I'm in third grade. If there's anything..."

"That sly fox! He ate and ran! You're finished!"

A rough voice suddenly rang out, and the crowd that was about to disperse immediately looked over again. This distinctive voice could only belong to Da Zhuang.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, a group of people emerged from around the corner and quickly approached Lian Han. "Is this damned fox yours?"

"Yes," Lian Han replied, frowning.

The burly young man, who was two meters tall, nodded and then said, "Do you know that she ate the energy core of my mecha?"

Lian Han looked down at the fox in his arms, which had flinched slightly since the young man spoke. "Now you know. What level of energy core?"

"S-class".

S-class energy core? The surrounding students were speechless. Kid, you'll be single forever if you ask for such an exorbitant amount, you know that?

Except for the lowest level F, which cannot pilot mechs, mech pilots are divided into E-level, D-level, C-level... all the way up to SSS-level mech pilots, each corresponding to their strength level. The same applies to mech makers.

A person's skill level determines the level of mecha they can pilot. This burly guy in front of us is a fairly well-known second-year student at the mecha academy; his A-level skill is widely acknowledged. Where would he get the chance to pilot an S-level mecha?

Lian Han also frowned. The reason was simple: he scanned the young man with his S-level mental energy and then began to doubt himself.

Is an imbalance between physical constitution and mental strength really that common now?

Lian Han was suspicious. He tapped a few times on his smart device and said, "Add me as a friend, and accept."

"Huh? Oh." The young man nodded and then activated his smart device.

The young man received a money transfer as soon as he accepted the friend request from the other party.

The young man scratched his head. "Foxes can't talk. Aren't you afraid I'll lie to you?"

"Xiaoyan is a beast, and it was my oversight not to notice that she was close to advancing in rank and needed energy. The money has been received, and I'll trouble you to buy the S-rank energy core yourself, senior."

After saying that, Lian Han turned to look at Dai Li, "My name is Lian Han, from the top class. I still want to thank Senior Dai. My friends are still waiting for me. See you again someday."

Watching her leave, Dai Li smiled; she was a decisive girl.

He turned to leave when he heard Da Zhuang mutter, "But I really did lie to her. That little fox would die from swallowing an S-grade energy core. That's enough to buy ten A-grade ones. How am I going to pay her back?"

Dai Li turned her head, her gaze passing over Da Zhuang, pausing for a moment on someone before landing on Albert Andrew. "We're all classmates, don't go too far."

Albert looked at Dai Li and said, "Are you guys crazy? She's just a whore, how come you and that Jiang guy are both like this..."

"Be careful what you say," Dai Li frowned.

"Did I say something wrong? I saw her with—a super rich guy—yesterday. Otherwise, where would she get the money to leave so casually?"

"Really? That beautiful woman looks like an iceberg!"

"Who knows, maybe this kind of abstinent person is even better at it..."

"Hello, this is Enforcement Officer No. 579. You have been given a warning for using obscene language. Please activate your AI."

Albert turned his head and saw Dilo's personal law enforcement robot staring at him silently with its electronic voice, the energy gun in its hand already charged.

Albert: ...Holy crap! How could he be so unlucky?

Almost instantly, the entrance to the mech training ground became empty.

Do not mess with any of the robots numbered Dilo 1000 or higher!

These robots are completely unyielding, shockingly strict, and even hold the power to expel trainees. They're more terrifying than any instructor!

As for what Albert said about that beautiful woman—what does it have to do with them if it's someone else's business? If he dares to keep bringing it up after he's been given a demerit and punished, they'll have to reluctantly listen to him again without the enforcement robots.

However, this possibility is unlikely.
