Chapter 250 Compromise

The sunlight on Insect Planet was gray, casting a somber shadow over the entire world. Lian Han sat in his room, gazing out the window, his mood growing increasingly depressed.

It all started with Beck Ivan—it's been three days already! He's been training in the morning and shopping in the afternoon for three days straight!

Honestly, there's really nothing to see in that Zerg settlement, okay? And that Beck, although his behavior wasn't as abrupt and domineering as it was that day, was still forceful, constantly reminding her that they had a mate relationship.

Moreover, over the past three days, everyone they'd met had said they were a perfect match and offered their blessings. Lian Han was speechless, and she was certain that the entire settlement now knew their Crown Prince had a spouse!

If Lian Han were really Avril and didn't want to be with Baker, she'd be worried sick. But thankfully, as a human, she wouldn't be swayed by the insectoids' words.

The presence of another person behind him made Lian Han suppress the urge to attack, as the man held him in his arms. "What are you thinking about?"

Lian Han: "It's nothing. It's not appropriate for Your Highness to go directly into a female's room."

“Avril is my spouse,” Baker chuckled.

Lian Han: ...This tone is not much different from the self-righteousness she showed when she looked at Yi Jun's room that day.

"Want to go for a walk?"

"I don't want to go. There's nothing interesting to see outside," Lian Han replied.

"Then let's go to training?" Baker said, noticing the girl's face darken. She raised an eyebrow. "Don't you like it?"

Lian Han: ...

Training—that was even more irritating than shopping. The training room was empty, just the two of them. Given her tight, revealing outfit and the fighting style of a female Zerg, it was practically an invitation for her to take advantage.

"Why does Your Highness think I would like it?" Lian Han turned his head to look at Baker.

Baker lifted her chin. "Avril, you're an adult now."

No, she didn't.

Seeing her fall silent again, Baker sighed softly, "Your guardian has really failed in this regard. But it's alright, I can teach you."

Thank you, but she doesn't want to learn.

As he drew nearer to her face, Lian Han tried to pull away, but she was now trapped in the man's arms, her head forcefully lifted, leaving her with no way to escape.

Lian Han sensed something was wrong. "Your Highness, you said you wouldn't..."

Her lips were sealed, and she only took a fleeting, superficial sip.

"I don't understand why you don't like it?" Baker asked, puzzled.

Lian Han: ...Why don't you like it? Lian Han had never felt so much that the boys in the Federation were so friendly. At least they valued equality, and you could be rejected if you had a crush on someone. The Zerg, creatures completely driven by their lower bodies, have a completely different mindset and values, okay?

Of course, these words couldn't be said. So Lian Han could only force himself to calm down, pretending that he had just been bitten by a dog, "Your Highness, I came to Insect Planet One for the purpose of fighting, I didn't expect this—the difference is too great."

"You want to go to the battlefield?" Baker asked, somewhat surprised.

"yes."

"The battlefield on the human side?"

Isn't that obvious? Lian Han asked in surprise, "Why would I come to Insect Planet One if I weren't going to the human side?"

“There will be bloodshed, injuries, and even death on the battlefield,” Baker frowned.

"I am not afraid. I do not want to hide behind the soldiers and live a life of ignominy."

“Your talent certainly gives you the right to say that,” Baker said, releasing her.

"So Your Highness agrees?"

Looking into her bright gray eyes, Baker said, "If only all our people had your awareness. Enjoy this last day of leisure. Tomorrow, you'll begin special training for the Human Federation. Someone will come to teach you and your brother how to use the mechs. You can go to the front lines whenever you pass the training."

"Thank you, Your Highness." Lian Han was delighted that he had given in so easily—though she would soon realize that she was celebrating too soon.

Lian Han didn't see Beck again today, and rarely saw him the next day or after that. Yi Jun, on the other hand, returned on the second day.

Nearly a month later, the two met the instructors' requirements and were included in the next batch of personnel to go to the battlefield.

They were still transported to the battlefield by the Star Orbiter, while each Zerg mech was hung under its seat.

The Flying Star Rail, as fragile as a train track, was filled with enormous mechs, creating a truly spectacular sight.

Upon arriving at their destination planet, the group of Zerg recruits were assigned a stone hut as their lodging, while Lian Han—

"Your Highness, what brings you here?" Lian Han stood in a room far more luxurious than the other recruits' rooms, looking at the persistent ghost of a certain person, feeling a chill run down his spine.

"Avril, I've been here for half a month. Haven't you noticed I'm not in the Imperial Tower branch?"

She really hadn't noticed. Lian Han quickly made up an excuse for herself, "I've been quite busy with training lately, and I thought Your Highness had your own things to do."

Baker looked at her. "I thought you'd forgotten about me."

"How could that be? I was able to come to the battlefield because of Your Highness, wasn't I? But why are you here too?" Lian Han asked.

"You haven't even memorized the rules of spousal support?" Baker asked in surprise. "The first rule is that spouses should share joys and sorrows. I came to the front lines to be with you, Avril."

Lian Han: ?!

"Um, Your Highness, I didn't know. I'm sorry, I..."

The girl lowered her eyes, seemingly feeling guilty. Baker raised an eyebrow at her. Whether it was the joy of seeing her family earlier, the violent rescue, or now, he could always see a different side of this female.

She is always so vibrant.

I really want her to show me everything about herself.
