Chapter 40 Supporting Him

Jiang Zhining responded calmly, "Like I said, I learned medicine from a master of Chinese medicine, so I charge for my visits. If your sister-in-law is indeed injured because of me, then I will naturally treat you for free."

Wang Yufen's face turned pale.

"But since you're just pretending and made me go there for nothing, you should pay me the consultation fee. Don't worry, it's not much, just one dollar."

Before she finished speaking, Wang Yufen's pupils widened: "What, one dollar? Are you robbing me?"

"Only a robber would look down on this dollar. Sister-in-law, you'd better pay the consultation fee. Otherwise, if I report this to the chief and accuse you of feigning illness to extort money, your losses will be much greater. Don't you agree?"

"Zhi Ning has a point. You were pretending to be sick so that Zhi Ning could treat you. Besides, you didn't have a backache. Doctor Zhi Ning cured you. We all saw it with our own eyes." Liu Zhilan said gloatingly.

"That's right, he sat up all of a sudden." The aunt covered her mouth and laughed.

Wang Yufen was so angry that her face turned red: "You want me to give you money? No way!"

"Sister Zhilan, please go find my man and ask him to ask the leader to come and seek justice." Jiang Zhining said indifferently.

Wang Yufen became anxious instantly. She knew that the current situation did not allow her to make any choice.

Thinking of this, Wang Yufen gritted her teeth and said, "Okay, I'll give it to you."

He glared at Jiang Zhining fiercely, then reluctantly took out a dollar.

Jiang Zhining took the money, and then handed the silver needle and a dollar to the auntie: "Auntie, can you help me divide this dollar? Except for Auntie Xia, everyone else who sees it will get a share."

The neighbors who were just there to watch the fun were overjoyed to see the money and expressed their gratitude: "Thank you, leader's wife."

"It's my duty." Jiang Zhining left happily after watching Aunt Xia and Wang Yufen, who were so angry that their faces turned red, with satisfaction.

Walking out of the yard, Liu Zhilan was full of admiration: "Zhi Ning, you are really amazing. That Wang Yufen is the most stingy. Asking her to pay is like asking her to die."

"She asked for it." Jiang Zhining said indifferently.

"Do you really know acupuncture?"

Jiang Zhining chuckled: "I don't know that at all. I just know a few acupuncture points to fool her."

Liu Zhilan covered her mouth and laughed.

Suddenly, an anxious voice came: "The captain's wife!"

Jiang Zhining stopped and looked at the old man who was running towards her breathlessly: "Uncle, is there something wrong?"

"Hurry, hurry to school, something happened to your Song Ye!"

Hearing this, Jiang Zhining's heartstrings tightened.

Twenty minutes later, Jiang Zhining rushed to the school inside the military compound, which was a place specifically for children living in the military compound to go to school.

When I walked into the teacher's office, I saw Song Ye standing with his head lowered, with two adults in front of him.

"Xiao Ye." Jiang Zhining called.

Song Ye turned around and saw her, and his head lowered even more.

Jiang Zhining walked to Song Ye's side and said calmly: "Teacher, what happened to our Song Ye?"

The female teacher saw Jiang Zhining and her eyes flashed with surprise. She then criticized, "Song Ye is so young, yet he dared to hit someone in school. I asked him to write a self-criticism, and he still said he was innocent."

Jiang Zhining bent down and looked at Song Ye: "What's going on?"

Song Ye raised his head, and Jiang Zhining discovered that there were many wounds on his face.

Seeing her gentle eyes, Song Ye's eyes reddened: "He called me a bastard that no one wanted, saying that even my mother abandoned me and that I was trash. He kept scolding me, so I pushed him and he hit me."

Jiang Zhining's chest heaved and she bit her lips lightly: This scene, she was so familiar with it.

After adjusting her mood, Jiang Zhining stood up straight: "If that's the case, then our Song Ye is right."

"What? He's not wrong to hit someone?" The middle-aged woman pointed at Song Ye and cursed, "You're so young and you're already hitting people. Will you become a gangster when you grow up? Apologize, you must apologize to my son today."

"Mrs. Song, the child is still young and needs to be taught well. He cannot be indulged."

"So the teacher is going to condone other children's verbal insults to my son?" Jiang Zhining's eyes were sharp.

"It's just a few jokes from kids, what's the big deal?" The middle-aged woman didn't take it seriously.

"So I said that your husband has a mistress and children outside, and you can accept it, big sister?" Jiang Zhining retorted.

The middle-aged woman glared: "What nonsense are you talking about!"

"It was just a joke, what's the big deal? Didn't you say that yourself?" Jiang Zhining retorted, "Any adult would get angry if they heard that, let alone a child?"

"You!" The middle-aged woman was speechless. "He hurt someone, so he should be punished."

Jiang Zhining stood in front of Song Ye, back straight. "My son started the fight to stop the verbal abuse and harm he suffered. If he hadn't taken action, would the verbal abuse have stopped?"

Jiang Zhining's words left the teacher silent.

Song Ye looked at her in a daze, not expecting her to protect him.

"It's wrong to hit people." The middle-aged woman said forcefully.

"You just heard it. He only pushed once. That push was to stop someone from hurting him, which is legally self-defense. And after that, your child wouldn't give in, so naturally my child had to fight back to protect himself."

Seeing that Jiang Zhining's words were well-reasoned, the middle-aged woman didn't want to lose face: "Teacher, what do you say we should do?"

"Don't embarrass the teacher. We can handle this ourselves." Jiang Zhining said coldly, "My son can apologize, but only if your son first apologizes for the verbal violence he used against my son."

"Why should my son apologize?" the middle-aged woman said coldly.

"A kind word can warm you through three winter months, but a harsh word can hurt you through six months of summer. Verbal insults are like sharp blades. Even if we bring this to the police station now, you are the ones who made the mistake first." Jiang Zhining argued.
