Chapter 112 Moth (Part 3)
"Bang! Bang!"
Near the banquet hall's entrance, Qi Wei, deputy commander of the Second Legion, slammed his fist against the door. His arms and fists felt like steel walls, his skin a dull bronze sheen. His enhanced mental power couldn't be condensed into a powerful spear like normal, so Qi Wei simply used it to strengthen his own flesh and bones, pounding the metal door with his fists.
Mu Lian had even less mental energy to use. His colorless mental energy transformed into a few sparse needles, following the sound of wings fluttering, and shot into the moth in the darkness.
In a quick glance, he saw that the bright blue light in another part of the banquet hall suddenly dimmed.
Mingyu's spiritual power threads spread outward, as if it had lost the control of its master, losing the shape of a solid protective shield and turning into a scattered light point that quickly dissipated.
Mulan paused, but had no energy to respond.
The number of needles under his control was rapidly decreasing, and large wounds were left on his skin by the moths.
A large amount of mental power was suppressed, and he could no longer use more mental power threads. He could only try his best to fly before his strength ran out.
The bronze color on Qi Wei's skin was gradually fading, blood was dripping out from between his fingers, and his bones were broken in the violent collision.
"Ahhh my face! My face! --Help--"
One by one, the protective shields shook and went out, and more and more wailing sounds were heard in the banquet hall, mixing together.
With another loud bang, Qi Wei finally pushed open the door of the banquet hall.
A beam of light from outside the corridor penetrated into the banquet hall, illuminating the scene inside.
Swarms of black moths flew around the banquet hall like a shifting cloud.
They landed on the faces and shoulders of the unprotected guests, crouched on their necks, and burrowed into their skin...
Then the moth melted into a pool of black liquid, a swollen swelling protruded from under the skin, and the attacked human let out a scream of pain.
"Implement a special energy blockade on the banquet hall!—" Qi Wei shouted, "Security robots!—!"
“Ding ding—ding ding—”
At the same moment, the energy detection alarm outside the Ming family banquet hall finally shrieked. Security robots swarmed toward the banquet hall, their front decks opening to reveal fine energy gun barrels, trained on the vast sea of flying black matter within.
The energy gun swept across the moths in the banquet hall. Black moths fell to the ground one by one, turning into large pools of black water.
It also seemed like black energy threads, bouncing and wriggling on the ground.
But more moths continue to appear.
From the podium, from Ming Zhengen's body.
Ming Zhengen's eyeballs exploded, leaving only two empty holes. A steady stream of moths spurted out from his eye sockets and from his open mouth.
With the light coming from the corridor, Mu Lian saw several people on the podium lying on the ground. Ming Zhilang and Zhao Ying were holding Ming Yan tightly under them, while Ming Zhuo was lying beside him, his body covered with moths.
In the banquet hall, many people had fallen to the ground, their bodies twisted in pain.
Mu Lian's eyes quickly swept across the room, searching for Ming Yu as she retreated. The Ming family's guards, following closely behind the security robots, arrived and, upon seeing the scene inside the banquet hall, their faces went blank for a moment, practically freezing in place.
"Open fire!" Qi Wei, who rushed out first, shouted loudly.
The guards snapped back to their senses and quickly drew their energy guns to fire at the moth swarm. Various mental energies erupted, enveloping the banquet hall in a film of light that blocked out the dark energy but allowed humans to pass through.
The black tide energy field was isolated in the banquet hall by mental power, and the signal of Mulan's communication bracelet was restored by one bar.
"Stay alert around the Ming family manor!" Qi Wei quickly dialed the number and shouted to the Second Legion team on standby outside the manor.
"yes!"
"The Capital Star Guard is here!—" Someone beside Qi Wei wiped the blood off his face and shouted, "They're almost at the manor! They're coming very fast!"
On the low-speed channel outside the manor, a police ultra-small starship sped towards them. The guard captain, with a serious expression, said to his team, "The mission has been temporarily changed. Xiao Zhao, mobilize the medical team! Call for reinforcements!"
They had received a report about the Ming family illegally hypnotizing awakened humans, and had initially worried about being blocked from entering the Ming family estate. Now that the estate had been attacked by black tide creatures, they no longer had to worry about how to enter... but no one was happy about this.
"Put on protective clothing! Bring emergency medicines!" the leading police officer shouted.
The police starship sailed into the Ming family manor, passed over the parking lot, and hovered directly above the building where the banquet hall was located.
The guards descended into the building wearing powered exoskeletons and were stunned for a second when they saw the scene in the banquet hall.
"Seal off the banquet hall! And the entire building! Xiao Zhao, follow me in! The rest of you, stay at the door. Distribute emergency medicine first, and take the wounded to the side hall... The medical starship will be here soon!"
"Xiao Wang, follow the medical ship that's transporting the wounded. Xiao Lu, don't let anyone else leave this building!" the captain of the guard said in a deep voice, "No one!"
The banquet hall was in chaos. The fallen, the injured, the barely escaped and howling... these were all important figures!
Either he was rich, powerful, or both... Not to mention the Ming family members like Ming Zhengen and Ming Zhilang in the banquet hall whose whereabouts were unknown...
But no one can leave at this time!
Black tide creatures invaded the Ming family manor on the capital star, and the guests' mental strength was suppressed... The captain of the guard felt bitter. He had been in office for twenty years and had never seen such an outrageous evil incident on the capital star!
The banquet hall was under the control of a fully armed security team. Mu Lian took a few steps outside, frowning as he watched the survivors being carried out of the banquet hall. The communication bracelet on his wrist had been vibrating non-stop since it received a signal. All of them were calls from Cui Xiaoduo.
"Brother Lian?" Cui Xiaoduo's voice rang out from the other side, tinged with anxiety. "Your communication just kept getting disconnected. What happened?!"
A scene from the aircraft popped up. Cui Xiaoduo and Mu Baixing were traveling on a high-speed route to the Capital Star Public Port, surrounded by the twinkling lights of a bustling city, a warm and peaceful scene.
However, the speed of the aircraft is not at all peaceful.
As Mulan narrated, the aircraft's engine roared and white smoke spewed out of the tail pipe.
Mu Baixing had a cold expression on his face. He drove the aircraft at the maximum speed limit to rush to the Ming family manor, while trying to connect to the monitor signal again.
The monitor attached to Zhao Ying's skin was damaged by the prolonged impact of the black superpower. Even after Zhao Ying was found and rescued by rescuers, the screen remained frozen on the noise for a long time. However, a new monitor screen lit up.
The screen was also dotted with noise, but intermittent sounds could still be heard. Although the signal was poor, Mu Baixing immediately recognized Mingyu's voice.
"Did you plan this attack?" the young man spoke breathlessly, as if enduring some kind of pain. His voice was tense, indicating he was on high alert.
"Mingyu is missing," Mu Lian said quickly. "I haven't seen him among the survivors yet. Just now in the banquet hall, his mental power suddenly disappeared, but the injured in the banquet hall haven't been completely evacuated yet, so I can't confirm it for now."
"Survivors who are not seriously injured must remain in the side hall. I have informed the guards, and they are searching..."
After just a few words, Mingyu's voice disappeared from the monitor, and the young man's communicator signal was interrupted again, but Mulian's communication remained connected.
Mu Baixing did not answer Mu Lian. He only called up the monitor's location to confirm that Ming Yu was still in the Ming family manor. He pushed the push rod again, and a burst of white smoke came out from the back of the aircraft again.
Cui Xiaoduo was caught off guard and nearly thrown out of his seat. He quickly tightened the buckle, not noticing that Mu Baixing was speeding significantly. He simply shouted into the communication, "Keep in touch, Brother Lian! We're on our way—"
The guard team began to search the building, and the awakened ones with sharp mental powers walked in front, paying attention to whether there were any more black tide energy reactions in the building.
The wounded in the banquet hall were sent to the medical cabin one by one, and the rescue doctors who had just arrived at the scene were busy.
The lightly injured patients who didn't need to be transferred for treatment were gathered in the side hall. The guards needed to first find out why everyone had lost their mental power at the same time and how the black tide creatures had invaded. Everyone was repeatedly questioned about their movements into the banquet hall.
The officer in charge of recording had a serious expression on his face and whispered to his colleague in charge of the inspection, "The source of the mental suppressant may be the drinks and food in the banquet hall."
Qi Wei stood at the door of the side hall, looking annoyed.
Another electric suspended stretcher passed by the door. The person on it was covered in black and was breathing hoarsely, and it seemed that the breathing would stop at any time.
"The Black Tide energy radiation in the banquet hall is lower than we thought." He heard two police officers in the corridor talking quickly. "Those moths are not radiating Black Super Energy on their own."
"Those who were seriously injured... had moths burrowed beneath their skin. The Black Super Energy values near the banquet hall are normal."
"These moths are not emitting excessive black tide energy." Qi Wei repeated in a low voice.
His brow furrowed even more as he looked at the blood and messy filth on the ground, muttering to himself, "Those moths... look like energy bodies released by high-level black tide creatures."
“They are their descendants.”
The guards set up a cordon around and above the Ming family manor, with sirens blaring.
Across the large garden, Mingyu could faintly hear the noise coming from the front yard.
He frowned, swallowed the pill in his mouth, tilted his head towards the door, and said in a hoarse voice: "Is he dead too?"
The pill was the one he had just poured out of the medicine box that Albin had thrown to him.
The label on the medicine box said it was an emergency medicine to deal with Kuroshio radiation. Mingyu was not sure whether the contents had been replaced, so he could only take a gamble.
Moths landed and flew up from the sides of his neck, as if they were using it as a tree trunk to rest on. If he didn't take a few emergency pills, the skin and flesh on his neck, as well as his trachea, esophagus, and vocal cords, would all be corroded.
At the door to Mingyu's right, a nurse was standing in front of the door with his head lowered.
Mingyu recognized his face.
"This is the courtyard where my grandfather... Ming Zhengen lives." The young man put the medicine box into his pocket and used his fingers to move a beetle monitor, allowing the monitor to crawl onto his skin and enter the connected state.
Mingyu: "Did you plan this attack?"
The young man ignored the words of revenge from Elbin's mouth and refused to let himself be led astray by the other party.
He tried his best to remain calm and looked directly into the other person's black eyes. "You..."
Next to Mingyu, a black moth emerged from the caregiver's left eyeball. Then came the second, the third...
Their bodies squeezed out from their narrow pupils, spread their wings as if emerging from a cocoon, flew towards Albin, and lay intimately on his face, making Albin's face look very strange.
Mingyu suddenly remembered the "ant blood" he found in the backyard a few hours ago.
That was the black tide energy that penetrated from the soft ground and dissolved into tiny cracks in the solid building materials.
Mingyu looked very bad.
His voice was stagnant, and after a long pause he said, "The caregivers are human."
"In the banquet hall... on the stage... my grandfather, Ming Zhengen, is also human."
"You... no, the body you are using now was originally human."
Albin smiled, the energy gun in his left hand still pointing at Mingyu, without denying it.
"But you are a high-level black tide creature." Ming Yu stared into his eyes and said in a hoarse voice, "You killed the caretaker in the backyard and my grandfather."
As if to agree with Mingyu's statement, a black moth landed on Albin's fingertips and flapped its wings.
"Are you unhappy?" Albin smiled and said slowly, "That's not death."
"Just becoming one with my life, with that person's life. Coming to a new beginning."
