Chapter 3 Nanjing Lockdown Punishes Those Who Change Their Minds

Song Lingshan's face darkened, and her fox-like eyes narrowed slightly.

"You did say you wanted to break up, but did I agree to it?"

"..."

Su Luo fell silent.

Three years ago, after he broke up with her, Song Lingshan chased after him with a knife, and she certainly never said she agreed.

But, the very next day she went abroad to pursue her master's degree.

Moreover, after going abroad, he blocked all of Song Lingshan's contact information.

Song Lingshan gave him a deep look, her expression very complicated, and he couldn't figure her out at all.

Then he pulled a black card out of his wallet, tossed it to him, and said in a cold voice.

"Your medical expenses."

Su Luo was completely bewildered by Song Lingshan's outrageous actions and declined.

"No, no need, I'm fine now."

He knew that Song Lingshan's family was very wealthy.

But if she gives him a black card with no spending limit right away, and he accepts it, it means he'll be entangled with her again.

Money is important, but life is more important.

Upon hearing this, Song Lingshan's face darkened even further.

Su Luo hurriedly got out of the car, afraid that if he was even a second late, Song Lingshan would punish him.

I ran all the way to the apartment building and watched Song Lingshan's car drive away before my tense nerves finally relaxed.

I took the elevator and arrived at my front door.

I opened the door with the key, and the living room light was still on.

Su Jianni was asleep on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket. Her small body was curled up in a ball, and she looked incredibly cute.

Su Luo tiptoed to her side, intending to carry her to the bedroom to sleep.

Su Jianni still heard the sound, and sat up groggily, rubbed her eyes, and pouted.

"Didn't you say you wouldn't work overtime? Why are you so late coming home?"

Su Luo said helplessly, "I've run into a bit of trouble."

Su Jianni put her hands on her hips, glared with her big, watery eyes, and said with dissatisfaction.

"Is my boss giving me a hard time again? Can't I just quit? I don't need to go to such a good school!"

Su Luo gently tapped her head.

"No, focus on your studies."

As he spoke, he handed her the strawberry pudding he had bought.

Su Jianni didn't take the pudding immediately. She only glanced at the bag before frowning and huffing.

"This isn't my usual restaurant, I'm not eating here! Humph, you stupid dad!"

Su Luo squatted down, opened the lid of the pudding, and gently coaxed it.

"Honey, the place you usually eat at is closed. I'll buy you something tomorrow, okay?"

He then scooped a spoonful of pink pudding and placed it near her lips.

Su Jiani obediently opened her mouth and took a small bite.

The taste was pretty good, and my eyebrows and eyes quickly relaxed.

He picked up the box and started eating.

Su Luo gently rubbed her head. "That's a good girl."

Su Jianni puffed out her cheeks and chewed carefully. Suddenly, she noticed Su Luo holding a gauze bandage with her elbow. She immediately put the pudding on the coffee table next to her and asked nervously.

"You're injured? What happened?"

Su Luo withdrew her arm and smiled.

"It's nothing, I just tripped and fell."

Su Jianni lost her appetite, her eyes instantly reddened, and she looked like a wounded little rabbit, asking with some guilt.

"Does it hurt? Is it because you're injured that you came back so late?"

"It's okay now, it doesn't hurt anymore, have another bite."

Su Luo, holding a pudding, glanced at a box of chocolate cake on the coffee table and asked in confusion.

"You bought a cake?"

Su Jiani has never liked chocolate, so why would she buy a chocolate cake?

Su Jianni shook her head. "It was delivered by the aunt who recently moved in next door. She said it was your old classmate, Zhong Ling."

Upon hearing the name, Su Luo's expression changed drastically. She picked up the cake, threw it into the trash can without hesitation, and pressed down on her thin shoulders, giving her earnest instructions.

"Nini, don't pay any more attention to her, Ming, understand?"

Su Jiani narrowed her beautiful almond-shaped eyes and asked in return.

"Why? Is she your ex-girlfriend?"

Today she took a special look at that woman. She was indeed quite pretty, but her makeup was too heavy and her perfume was pungent.

She had heard from her father that Su Luo had a girlfriend who was very beautiful, but had a terrible temper.

Actually, she and Su Luo are not related by blood; her biological father and Su Luo are good friends.

Three years ago, when she was nine years old.

Her biological father died of cancer, her biological mother left home after giving birth to her, and she had no other relatives.

Before her death, her biological father entrusted her to Su Luo's care.

Su Luo rubbed her temples.

"No, I have nothing to do with her."

If we absolutely have to say there's a relationship, what kind of relationship is it?

A love rival?

This explanation is not reasonable either.

Zhong Ling was the most beautiful girl in her class in college, and many people pursued her, but she didn't like any of them. She only liked the school heartthrob, Lin Haoxuan.

She pursued him for a long time, but he ignored her.

One day, she got impatient and cornered him in the library, loudly demanding why he had rejected her.

Unexpectedly, Lin Haoxuan said seriously, "Because I like Su Luo!"

Zhong Ling was petrified on the spot. As for why Su Luo knew about this, it was because he was reading in the library at the time.

From then on, Zhong Ling made trouble for Su Luo at every turn, even though Su Luo explained that there was nothing between him and Lin Haoxuan.

But this woman was determined to target him. Not only did she spread rumors about him being kept by a rich woman on the school's online forum, but she also tried to trip him up at every turn when he was looking for a job.

She wouldn't have kindly sent him a cake; she probably poisoned it to kill him.

"That's good. I'll listen to you and ignore her."

Su Jiani nodded.

Su Luo carried Nini back to her bedroom, then went to the bathroom to take a shower herself.

After taking a shower, Su Luo returned to her bedroom in her pajamas.

I crawled into bed intending to sleep, but for no reason felt restless and agitated.

I reached out and turned on the bedside nightlight.

He slowly sat up, picked up the cigarette pack from the bedside table, knocked out a cigarette, put it in his mouth, lit it slowly, and took a deep drag.

Thick smoke spread out.

His expression was obscured by the smoke.

His well-defined knuckles reached for the full-diamond Nanjing lock necklace around his neck.

This was six years ago, the night Song Lingshan and he confirmed their relationship. She put it on him herself, and said it in a very serious tone.

"Darling, it's rumored that the Nanjing Lock will punish those who have changed their hearts. If you betray me, you will be punished by heaven."

"There's only one key, and I've decided I'll never unlock it, so you'll belong to me forever."

How did he respond back then?
