Chapter 13: Rural Wife in the 1990s 12

"Are you hungry? Go and play. I'll cook first." Meng Changjin patted the two little girls on the back and motioned for them to go and play.

The big girl and the second girl were relieved when they were sure that Meng Changjin did not leave secretly without them.

The eldest girl took the second girl to the side to coax her away. Meng Changjin put the ginseng wrapped in large leaves away and then went to check on the fire in the kitchen.

The eldest and second daughter were still too young, and there was too much firewood in the kitchen. Meng Changjin used tongs to pick out most of the firewood. Most of the firewood was wet, and the remaining pieces were too big. The entire kitchen was filled to the brim, and there was no air, so the fire could not be burned at all.

Meng Changjin picked out most of the firewood and blew it with a fan. Finally, the thick smoke stopped coming out and the flames became brighter.

It was too late and killing the wild duck would take too much time, so Meng Changjin simply cooked a meal. After the three of them finished eating, Meng Changjin locked the fat wild duck, wrapped and put away the ginseng, washed the big girl and the second girl, and then took a rest.

Because he had dug up this wild ginseng that was about a hundred years old, Meng Changjin felt that he would not have to worry about money in the short term.

The next morning, Meng Changjin took the big girl and the second girl out again.

But today is not a market day, so there is not even a sports car on the road.

Fortunately, the eldest and second daughters were both strong children. They never complained of being tired along the way. They followed Meng Changjin on both sides, never falling behind.

The market was much quieter on non-market days, and Meng Changjin didn't think she could get a good price for the wild ginseng in this small market, so her target was the county town.

But the fat wild duck was sold at the market.

The fat duck weighing more than five pounds was sold for more than 40 yuan, plus Meng Changjin's original price of more than 100 yuan, the total was just 150 yuan.

Meng Changjin took Da Niu and Er Niu to a small bus station in the market to take a bus to the county town.

After paying the fare for two adults, Meng Changjin took the two girls, Da Niu and Er Niu, on the bus.

There were less than ten people on the bus including Meng Changjin and the other three. The bus driver didn't start the bus, probably because he wanted to pick up a few more people.

The passenger sitting opposite Meng Changjin and her colleagues in the corridor was a little anxious and urged the bus driver several times, apparently in a hurry.

The bus driver naturally said a lot of nice things and told the driver to leave immediately. After being urged several times and no passengers got on the bus, the bus driver started the bus despite the anxious passenger's cursing.

The smell on the bus was not pleasant, and the bus was stop-and-go. The special smell and the stop-and-go rhythm made Meng Changjin look ugly.

Compared to riding a motorcycle in the wind, the experience of riding a bus was not good. Meng Changjin soon began to feel dizzy and even a little nauseous.

From the client's memory information, Meng Changjin learned that this strange feeling was motion sickness.

Think about her, Meng Changjin. Although she was just a casual cultivator, she had good talent and good luck, so she was able to fly in the air with a sword before her death.

She was not afraid at all when she looked down at the earth from the air on her flying sword. Unexpectedly, in the first mission world, a small bus would teach her a lesson.

Meng Changjin fumbled to open the window of the bus. Wind blew in and hit Meng Changjin's face. Her dizzy head was finally cleared up by the wind.

But as the car stopped and started, my head still felt dizzy.

Compared to Meng Changjin who was prone to motion sickness, the eldest and second girls were fine. They looked at every corner of the car with a sense of curiosity. If it weren't for the two little girls' calm personalities, most other children would have probably been walking around and playing in the car.

Meng Changjin was really carsick, so after telling the big girl and the second girl to sit still in their seats and not run around, Meng Changjin leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes to rest.

It was strange, but after closing his eyes, he felt much more comfortable. Soon, Meng Changjin fell asleep completely.

The two older girls sat in their seats very obediently, whispering to each other and looking at Meng Changjin from time to time. They found that Meng Changjin had closed his eyes as if he was asleep, and the two little girls lowered their whispers even more.

Meng Changjin was woken up several times by being hit by the car window when the car turned. Every time she was woken up, she would look outside. The car was still moving, which meant it had not arrived yet. Meng Changjin would close her eyes and continue to sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Meng Changjin was awakened by a loud voice shouting that they had arrived at the county station.

Seeing other passengers packing up their things and getting off the bus, Meng Changjin knew that they had arrived at the county town.

She also took the big girl and the second girl out of the car.

As soon as he got off the car, Meng Changjin was surprised to find that the development of this world in some aspects was truly amazing.

County towns are still not as good as first-tier cities, but there is still a huge difference compared to rural areas.

Three people stood on the side of the road, staring at the tall buildings.

The three of them were limited by their vision and had never seen such a tall building.

The other passers-by who saw the three people showed contempt for them, looked them up and down, and labeled them as bumpkins.

Meng Changjin heard the conversation between the passers-by, but didn't take it seriously.

She had indeed never seen those tall buildings, and the client was indeed just an ordinary rural woman. Although her body had improved with the nourishment of her spiritual power, her sallow skin and earthy clothes could not be changed all at once.

Of course, Meng Changjin doesn't care what others think of her. After all, she doesn't care about them, so she doesn't care what they think of her.

Meng Changjin tightened the two little hands he was holding, one on the left and one on the right, and lowered his eyes: "Okay, we have to get down to business."

Then she received curious gazes from the big girl and the second girl.

Maybe he didn't understand what kind of serious matter Meng Changjin was going to do.

Meng Changjin thought that selling ginseng should be a simple matter, but she thought it was too simple.

The client had only been to the county town once, and she was brought there by someone else, so she was not familiar with the way at all.

Essentially, this was Meng Changjin's first time in the county.

Then Meng Changjin took Da Niu and Er Niu and got lost in the county town.

The county town was much larger than she had imagined, and there were all kinds of stores that dazzled the eyes. Meng Changjin wanted to find a larger pharmacy, but ended up getting lost at various intersections.

As a last resort, Meng Changjin chose the simplest and most effective way, which was to ask someone.

After searching and asking along the way, it took Meng Changjin a lot of effort to finally find a large pharmacy.

The pharmacy was decorated in an antique style. I looked at the sign and saw that it was called Mingde Pharmacy.

Meng Changjin walked in with Da Niu and Er Niu, and a clerk in a white coat came over and asked as they walked in, "Would you like to buy some medicine? Do you have a prescription?"

Meng Changjin looked at the other person and smiled: "I don't buy medicine, I sell medicine."
