Chapter 26 The poor student just wants to study hard 2

Theoretically, if parents are teachers, their children’s grades won’t be too bad, but Yu Xiaotang’s grades are the worst among the worst.

This made Yu's father and mother feel ashamed to hold their heads up in front of their colleagues.

Originally, Yu Xiaotang's life should have been to graduate from junior high school, go to a vocational high school, enter the society after graduation, get married and have children, and live an ordinary life.

But in the second half of the third year of junior high school, Yu Xiaotang suddenly started to study very hard. The reason was that the best student in the class confessed to her.

The best student in the class is named Zhuang Qi. He has good grades and is very handsome. He confessed to Yu Xiaotang and hoped that they could still be in the same class in high school, so Yu Xiaotang suddenly became excited.

Yu Xiaotang started to make progress late and only caught up in the second semester of the third year of junior high school. Although he made some progress, it was not great. Fortunately, he was admitted to the high school of the same school with the last place in the class.

During the next three years of high school, Yu Xiaotang became Zhuang Qi's little follower. Zhuang Qi asked Yu Xiaotang not to reveal their relationship because they were still students, and Yu Xiaotang did as he asked.

For Zhuang Qi, Yu Xiaotang studied really hard, so after three years of high school, she and Zhuang Qi were admitted to the same university in the college entrance examination. However, compared to Zhuang Qi's excellent results, Yu Xiaotang was still ranked last.

Going from junior high school to high school together and then getting admitted to the same university is obviously a beautiful thing. Perhaps going directly from school uniforms to wedding dresses after graduating from university is a relationship that many people envy.

That would be great if that were the case, and that's where the problem lies.

Zhuang Qi's family was not well off. In fact, he was facing the risk of dropping out of school when he was in the third year of junior high school because his gambler-like parents had no money to send him to high school. They made him drop out of school in the third year of junior high school and go out to work.

Zhuang Qi was unwilling to do so. He was smart and thought that studying was the best way out for him.

But his parents simply don't understand this. Zhuang Qi insisted on studying, so his father and mother simply ignored him. Without money, he couldn't even get food at school, so Zhuang Qi should have given in. Then he would have to drop out of school and go to work.

Zhuang Qi didn't want to give in. He wanted to study hard, become a superior person, and then make his short-sighted parents, who only knew how to gamble, out of reach.

But he couldn't even afford a meal in the cafeteria that cost a few dollars. He was only a fifteen-year-old minor and had no ability to earn money, nor did he have the desire to do so.

He wanted to study, thinking that studying would help him get ahead, but he was too poor. He had no money to eat or to buy notebooks and pens. If this continued, he would give in sooner or later.

Just at this time he overheard someone bragging that after getting a girlfriend, he no longer had to pay for meals and could save his living expenses to buy cigarettes.

Zhuang Qi suddenly had a bold idea in his mind.

If he also has a girlfriend, will that solve the problem of food?

Once this idea came into my mind, I couldn't get it out of my mind.

Zhuang Qi carefully observed the classmates around him and finally chose Yu Xiaotang, a poor student whose parents were both working.

Of course, Yu Xiaotang was not his only choice. Zhuang Qi pointed at his girlfriend and had dinner with her, so to be on the safe side he chose several candidates.

But I didn’t expect that it would be successful with Yu Xiaotang, while the other candidates were useless.

The relationship between Yu Xiaotang and Zhuang Qi was originally Zhuang Qi's plan.

Although they were admitted to the same university, Zhuang Qi's parents were still unwilling to pay for the tuition. How much would it cost to study in a university for four years? Instead of being happy that Zhuang Qi was admitted to the university, Zhuang Qi's father and mother advised Zhuang Qi not to go to the university and to work since he had graduated from high school.

Zhuang Qi argued that he had finally been admitted to university, so how could he be willing not to go?

But going to college is different from going to junior high school or high school. The tuition fee for one year is tens of thousands. Yu Xiaotang can provide him with food and buy him school supplies, but college tuition is not a small amount. Zhuang Qi himself feels that Yu Xiaotang can no longer support him.

He found Yu Xiaotang and told her that he wanted to break up with her because he had no money to pay for college tuition.

Yu Xiaotang was unwilling to do so, and felt that her relationship with Zhuang Qi should not be ended just because of this.

But when Zhuang Qi heard Yu Xiaotang say that she didn't want to break up with him even if he couldn't go to college, he didn't show it on his face, but in his heart he hated Yu Xiaotang who always hurt him with her words.

Zhuang Qi insisted on breaking up, and cited the fact that he had not even been to college and he was a man, and Yu Xiaotang would meet someone better than him after going to college.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this statement, provided that the person saying it means it sincerely.

The problem is that Zhuang Qi is not sincere, he is just laying the groundwork for his ultimate goal.

He wanted Yu Xiaotang to give him her tuition fee.

This idea is extremely bold, but Zhuang Qi wants to give it a try.

He hinted that as a man he couldn't be without an education. Without an education, even if he wanted to marry Yu Xiaotang, Yu Xiaotang's parents would definitely not agree. It's not like girls, for it doesn't matter if they don't have an education as long as they are pretty.

Yu Xiaotang is just a fool. After hearing what Zhuang Qi said, she took the initiative to say that she could give her tuition fee to Zhuang Qi without Zhuang Qi saying anything.

Yu Xiaotang is a silly girl who is willing to give everything for her feelings.

She took the initiative to give the university tuition to Zhuang Qi. Zhuang Qi naturally disagreed on the surface, saying that it was Yu Xiaotang's tuition, so how could he take it? Seeing that Zhuang Qi was unwilling to take her tuition, Yu Xiaotang was moved again and insisted on giving the tuition to Zhuang Qi.

Zhuang Qi also acted as if he was very moved, and said affectionately that he would marry Yu Xiaotang after he finished college, found a job and made money.

After getting Zhuang Qi's promise, Yu Xiaotang lowered her head and smiled shyly.

When university started, Yu Xiaotang took the tuition money and went to the city where the university was located with Zhuang Qi, saying that her parents had to work. She gave the tuition money to Zhuang Qi without telling her parents, and threw the university's admission notice into a trash can on the side of the road.

The tuition and living expenses were given to Zhuang Qi. In order to avoid exposing the fact that she had not gone to school in front of her father and mother, Yu Xiaotang, who had no money, did not dare to go home, so she could only find a job outside the school.

The job provided food and accommodation, and a small portion of her salary was used for her own expenses, while most of it was swindled away by Zhuang Qi on the pretext of buying information.

Four years went by like this. Zhuang Qi finally graduated, but what Yu Xiaotang got was only a breakup and a card containing all the money Yu Xiaotang had spent on Zhuang Qi in the past seven years.
