Chapter 1, Chapter 125: Do you still have regrets?

Chapter 1, Chapter 125: Do you still have regrets?

Honestly, Jin Chuwan didn't consider herself a heavy drinker. In fact, she didn't drink often; she just rarely refused invitations from friends.

Moreover, friends who have drunk with her all say that she has excellent drinking manners. Even when drunk, she won't cause trouble. She will find a place to rest quietly, and may even take the initiative to pay the bill at the front desk.

The incandescent light on the ceiling was glaringly cold, and the short hand of the clock on the wall pointed to the number three. But at this moment, Jin Chuwan couldn't tell whether it was three in the morning or three in the afternoon.

Her head was spinning, and she felt even worse than when she was drunk and had a night's sleep.

Is it because you sleep exceptionally soundly after staying up late?

Jin Chuwan lay on the bed in a starfish position.

She seemed to have had an incredible dream.

The scene in her dream was blurry, with many figures moving back and forth in front of her. She found herself in a wedding, and she seemed to be the bride. There were many guests around her, all clapping and celebrating. Jin Chuwan vaguely heard a familiar single woman shout.

She suddenly looked up, but everything in front of her seemed to be covered by a thick white veil. She couldn't see anything clearly, only a few familiar outlines.

She could tell that one of them was reaching out to her, as if waiting for her to come over.

She heard him call her name, but she couldn't recognize who it was.

Like some kind of puzzle game, the more curious she was, the less she could figure it out; the more she tried to see clearly, the more chaotic and blurry her vision became.

Jin Chuwan rubbed her eyes, and this time she could finally see a little more clearly.

There were quite a few figures in front of her, and she tried hard to make out the one that was reaching out to her.

Just when she thought she was about to see clearly, her vision was suddenly blocked by many strange lights and shadows, which she brushed aside.

Just as Jin Chuwan was about to see clearly, she woke up.

The second hand ticked away, making a soft clicking sound.

Jin Chuwan rolled around in her blanket, almost falling off the bed.

What kind of bizarre dream is this?!

She hugged the blanket and stared at the ceiling. Her movements woke Cheng Ya, who sat up groggily, snatched the blanket back, and went back to sleep.

Jin Chuwan glanced at Cheng Ya, who had fallen asleep again, and suddenly felt a little thirsty.

She threw back the covers and got up, only to realize that she hadn't changed her clothes before going to sleep, and that she smelled strongly of alcohol. Jin Chuwan couldn't help but tilt her head.

...She will never touch that kind of high-proof liquor again.

Jin Chuwan slipped on her slippers and tiptoed to the living room. Only the wall lamp in the entryway was still on.

Warm light shone into the living room through the openwork cabinet, and Jin Chuwan glanced at it before looking away.

She froze for a moment when she opened the refrigerator.

Some memories from before the blackout suddenly flashed into her mind. Recalling those foolish actions, Jin Chuwan blushed instantly, feeling embarrassed and annoyed.

It took Jin Chuwan a while to awkwardly take out the two notes hidden in the corner of the refrigerator.

The note had Jiang Chen and Ran Xian's names written on one corner, and the format was quite formal. Jin Chuwan saw Jiang Chen's note with special terms attached.

"If the debt is not repaid, Party B will have to pay it off by taking possession of the person who incurred the debt upon maturity."

She couldn't help but smile.

To be honest, she couldn't imagine Jiang Chen using that aloof and handsome face to do something so joking, but the words on the paper were clearly Jiang Chen's.

"childish……"

After laughing, Jin Chuwan crumpled the two notes together and threw them into the trash can at her feet.

She unscrewed a bottle of mineral water, took two sips, and then put it back.

The cold water suddenly made Jin Chuwan much more awake. As she turned to leave, she suddenly noticed that there seemed to be someone lying on the sofa.

She carefully walked over and saw Ran Xian sleeping with his hands clasped on his lower abdomen in a neat and devout posture.

The light was dim, and Jin Chuwan couldn't see very clearly. She glanced at the air conditioner blowing loudly next to her, hesitated for a moment, and then went to find a blanket to cover Ran Xian with.

Jin Chuwan squatted in front of the sofa, holding her chin and looking at Ran Xian, who was sleeping soundly.

She hoped the drinks she had last night wouldn't have been wasted; she didn't want things to get so tense with him.

If things continue like this, Ran Min will be caught in the middle and find herself in a difficult position.

Thinking about it, Jin Chuwan stood up. Although it was the middle of the night, she was wide awake, so she decided to take a bath to relieve her fatigue before going back to rest.

After Kim Cho-won left, Ran Hyun, who had been asleep with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them.

His eyes appeared complex and deep in the dim light. He listened to the noise behind him and remained silent for a long time before closing his eyes again.

The next day, Kim Chu-wan went out early in the morning.

Since the whole family ended up drunk because of her, as compensation, she ordered breakfast from a nearby restaurant early in the morning to take home.

The new town is very Westernized, but there are still many Chinese people there.

Soy milk porridge, bread, toast—to cater to everyone's preferences, Jin Chuwan bought a little of almost everything. As she carried them home, she saw Ran Xian open the door.

He wasn't in good condition; his eyes were bloodshot, and he wasn't dressed properly, making him look like he'd been up all night.

The two stood at the door for a moment, then Jin Chuwan looked down at the bags in her hands and asked, "Want some breakfast?"

Ran Xian was about to leave, but when she heard Jin Chuwan's 'please' to stay, she stopped in her tracks.

He hadn't cleaned up since last night, and even he couldn't stand the smell on him. Ran Xian looked at Jin Chuwan and took a half step back without making a sound.

He looked at Kim Cho-wan, his eyes gleaming.

Do you have any unused toothbrushes, drinking cups, or anything like that at home?

Jin Chuwan nodded after listening.

Although she had always lived alone, she had a habit of shopping and stocking up. Jin Chuwan put the breakfast on the table, then rummaged through the cabinet in the living room. There were two bulging supermarket bags inside, which she hadn't opened since the last time she bought them.

She pulled out two toothbrushes and a brand-new towel embroidered with a pink Hello Kitty and handed them to Ran Xian.

Ran Xian glanced down at the phone after receiving it, a hint of disdain in his eyes.

"Your taste is really..."

Ran Xian left without finishing his sentence, and Jin Chuwan, who was squatting on the ground, couldn't help but look back.

This time, it was Yin Zhihua who came to see her. He had also stayed overnight, but had slept on a makeshift bed in Cheng Xiucheng's room. Now, with his messy hair, he sauntered up behind Jin Chuwan.

"I want one too..."

Jin Chuwan frowned, but still sent him a set.

To everyone's surprise, Yin Zhihua, who had just taken the toothbrush and towel, smiled with his eyes lowered, his expression clearly carrying a deeper meaning.

This time it was Jin Chuwan's turn to get annoyed. She closed the cabinet door and stood up.

"You two... use it or not, it's up to you!"

What's wrong with her liking pink, cute, and childish things? Is that against all the rules? Why do they all have to make fun of her?

Jin Chuwan broke down, but Jiang Chen, who happened to be passing by, laughed at her for a while because of her appearance.

The two bathrooms in the house are now overcrowded. Jin Chuwan cleaned them up early. As the only working person in the family who needs to clock in, she grabbed a cup of soy milk and some bread and went downstairs with her bag.

Everyone else besides her was a capitalist. When Jin Chuwan got into the car, she couldn't help but sigh.

All she hopes for now is that Cheng Ya's company will take off quickly so she can benefit from it as well.

But Jin Chuwan ultimately didn't have the protagonist's luck in a novel. The rest of the time was still uneventful. She was busy dealing with cases, while others seemed to treat her home as a hotel, coming over to stay from time to time.

Even Ran Xian joined in.

After staying at her house for a week, Yin Zhihua suddenly returned to China. On the day he left, he was dressed in a leather suit and looked quite like a real estate agent.

Jiang Chen said he had gone back to inherit the family business, and Jin Chuwan fell silent after hearing this.

Indeed, the difference between people can sometimes be greater than the difference between people and dogs.

In the second half of the year, several companies that Cheng Ya had invested in in China suddenly started to perform well. It was as if she had a keen eye for talent; she had invested in a total of six companies: one game company, two foreign trade companies, two e-commerce companies, and she also secured financing for a state-owned enterprise. Now, five of these six companies are listed on the stock exchange, and the profits of the unlisted company are also steadily increasing.

In the world of investing, it's considered good if one out of ten people make a profit. A 100% return like Cheng Ya's is considered a legend in the industry.

Kim Cho-man was also shocked, but at the same time, he felt it was only natural.

After all, he's the main character.

She's been doing alright lately. Although she lost two more cases, the clients are all in a stable mood.

At the end of the year, Jin Chuwan suddenly received a message from home.

Jin Chaoyang got married.

She stood there holding the phone for a long while, stunned, before remembering to congratulate Jin Chaoyang. They hadn't seen each other much in recent years, only getting together as a family during holidays. Jin Chaoyang hadn't changed much; she was still as beautiful and as fond of gossip as ever.

So sometimes Jin Chuwan is too lazy to pay attention to her.

Before Christmas, Jin Chuwan submitted her resignation to the agency. After wandering in a foreign land for so long, it was time to go home with her initial savings.

When she left, Kim Cho-wan was dragged to Lee's house to drink with several colleagues all night. When she returned home the next day, her hands were shaking as she opened the door.

Jiang Chen heard the noise and opened the door for her first.

These people rarely get together, but today they were all there.

Jin Chuwan was so drunk she could barely stand. She leaned against the door, looking at the people in the living room who were either sitting and resting or preparing to greet her.

She suddenly laughed, like a drunk, middle-aged lecher.

She unconsciously touched Jiang Chen's face, and then collapsed amidst the gasps of several people.

Before she closed her eyes, she thought Jiang Chen would catch her, but when she woke up, she couldn't remember anything at all, only vaguely remembering smelling a cool, woody scent in her nostrils.

When Jin Chuwan woke up, she found herself leaning against a very strong chest. Someone was wiping her sweat in front of her. Jin Chuwan thought she was awake, but in fact she had only been asleep for ten minutes.

She heard Li Xing'en's resentful voice: "I'll say it one last time, from now on, everyone in this family is strictly prohibited from drinking alcohol!"

"Who are you talking to? Me? You can't control Jin Chuwan, so you're going to control others, huh?"

Jin Chuwan shook her head, and she felt someone touch her forehead.

She felt it was familiar, and then she heard Cheng Xiucheng's voice.

"Shut up, let her sleep for a while, we'll talk about it later."

"Stop pretending to be a peacemaker. I said I'd go with her yesterday, don't cause trouble, okay? If I had gone, would I have let her get this drunk?"

Jin Chuwan leaned against his chest to rest for a while. She had already vomited before going home. She wanted to tell them that she was fine and that they shouldn't be so nervous, but she was pushed back down as soon as she was about to stand up.

She heard the owner of the chest hiss softly.

"Don't touch it."

Jin Chuwan was wronged. She didn't grope anyone; she just wanted to go back to her room to sleep.

The room seemed to fall silent for a moment, then became chaotic again.

Jin Chuwan heard chattering, something like, "Get up! Why are you holding me?" and "You're touching my Wanwan, don't be so ungrateful."

Jin Chuwan was sweating profusely as she listened. She wanted Cheng Ya to stop talking nonsense, but when she opened her mouth, all she could manage was a soft moan.

She felt the man beside her suddenly tense up, and he sighed in her ear.

"If you drink like that again, I really won't let you off the hook..."

Jin Chuwan closed her eyes in a daze, and all the noise around her disappeared into the distance.

She wasn't afraid of those threats at all. Cheng Ya's financial company had been doing quite well recently, and before long, she would be financially independent...

When the time comes, she can do whatever she wants. She can travel around the world or go back to her hometown to farm, and make all these guys who are bothering her get lost!

Author's note: Haha, I finally finished writing it before 2024 arrived. The reason I stopped for a few days was because I rewrote the ending several times.

This is essentially an open end; there should be if statements for each person later on.

Finally, I wish everyone a Happy New Year in advance!
