Chapter 120

Chapter 120

Cheng Xiucheng turned to look at Li Xing'en. He could hear the sarcasm in his words, but so what?

"Mind your own business. Don't think you can do anything to Jin Chuwan just because you've moved in. I'll be keeping an eye on you. Don't even think about bullying her."

After Cheng Xiucheng finished speaking, Li Xingen scoffed and asked a question in return.

"By what right? By what authority do you interfere in our affairs?"

"Because I am Cheng Ya's brother, and because I watched them both grow up."

Cheng Xiucheng was actually quite guilty when he said this, after all, he had bullied her a long time ago. But that was all so many years ago, and now he truly regarded Jin Chuwan as a younger sister, just like Cheng Ya.

Li Xing'en raised her head and glanced at the man beside her.

He was still smiling, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

He truly loathed everything that fawned over Kim Cho-man.

Especially those pretentious types like Sung Soo-seung.

What about brothers and sisters, classmates and friends, growing up together, taking care of and protecting each other?

They're all just excuses.

Deep dissatisfaction and restlessness were suppressed in the man's gray eyes. He wanted Jin Chuwan to rely on him alone, to smile only at him, and to completely trust him.

But now he hasn't done any of that. He hasn't even had a chance to be alone with her, to talk to her, or to hug her.

But we can't rush things now.

He needs to be patient.

--

After Jin Chuwan left the kitchen, Jiang Chen asked her to help.

The two boxes in the living room were his; this was the first time he had moved house by himself, and he was already exhausted just from tidying up his work documents and desk.

"Just help me drag it into the house, I'll do the rest myself."

Jin Chuwan glanced at the man squatting in front of the cabinet tidying up his clothes and couldn't help but sigh.

"To be honest, I'm not surprised that Li Xingen is like this, but I didn't expect you to join in the nonsense."

Jiang Chen paused in his actions, glanced back at Jin Chuwan, and then turned his head back.

"I don't want to either, but do you think I'd feel at ease having that madwoman Li Xing'en by your side?"

Jin Chuwan looked surprised and tilted her head: "A madman?"

"Yeah, a madman."

Jiang Chen lost patience after folding the clothes for a while, and decided to hand them over to his assistant or hire a cleaner tomorrow.

"Do you know that he spent three whole months in Europe looking for you? At first, he suspected I was hiding your whereabouts and even came to me to confront me. He was practically a madman during that time. Even though he seems normal on the surface now, who knows..."

Exhausted from tidying up, Jiang Chen sat down on the floor, propping himself up on the edge of the bed with his arms.

Jin Chuwan sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at Jiang Chen, whose fluffy head was right next to her, and she couldn't help but touch it.

Did I do something wrong?

Jiang Chen shook his head as he was being patted on the head, then closed his eyes as if enjoying it.

"As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. I've said it before, I only want you to do what you want to do." Jiang Chen finished speaking and then opened his eyes again, his dark eyes fixed on his trembling fingertips: "And Li Xing'en, something's not right with him. I always feel like his current calmness is an act. If you don't like him, you must say so in advance..."

"What are you talking about?"

The sound at the door interrupted Jiang Chen. He raised his eyelids, his eyes showing some displeasure.

Jin Chuwan was startled by Li Xingen's voice and turned to look at her.

The young man had his hands behind his back as if he were untying his apron. He had a gentle smile on his face, but his eyes were fixed on Jin Chuwan's hands.

"What, did I disturb you?"

Jiang Chen was a little irritated because Jin Chuwan withdrew her hand. She suddenly stood up, and the sudden loss of warmth and caresses made him feel empty. He stared at the person at the door with a gloomy expression.

"Is there something you need?"

"Ha...that expression is really scary."

Although Li Xingen said that, he completely ignored the man on the ground. He smiled and walked towards Jin Chuwan, then helped her up.

"Dinner is ready, Auntie, go and have a taste."

Jin Chuwan was pulled away. She glanced back at Jiang Chen, who was still lying by the bed, his dark eyes looking this way, as if he had been abandoned, with a hint of grievance in his eyes.

But now is not the time to think about that. She didn't pay attention to whether there was anyone outside the door when she was talking to Jiang Chen, and she didn't know whether Xing En heard what he said.

After all, they were talking badly about him.

Kim Cho-wan was pushed to sit down by Lee Sung-eun. She looked up and saw that the young man's expression was very peaceful and gentle. He handed the spoon to Kim Cho-wan.

"Take a sip of the soup first, see if it's a little bland?"

Jin Chuwan lowered his head and drank his soup.

The young man put his hand on her shoulder. She finished her drink and looked up, only to bump into his chin.

Jin Chuwan was stunned for a moment. She turned to look at him. Li Xingen was standing behind her, bending over. He was touching his chin with a slightly teasing look in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, I didn't..."

She didn't finish her sentence because Li Xing'en suddenly laughed.

He narrowed his handsome, elegant eyes and leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"I am."

Jin Chuwan was slightly taken aback. She heard his voice, low and soft.

"I did it on purpose because my aunt is biased."

Jin Chuwan suddenly raised her hand to cover her ears. She turned to look at Li Xing'en, feeling that if she didn't take precautions, he would attack her.

Just like before.

He always likes to suddenly do things that are too intimate.

Cheng Ya noticed the tense standoff between the two. She had just come out of the bathroom and was originally looking down at her phone when she saw the two people at the dining table. Her originally lazy look immediately turned into a strong sense of vigilance.

"What's wrong, Wanwan? Did he bully you? If he dares, I'll kick him out right now!"

Before Kim Cho-wan could speak, Lee Sung-eun leaned over with great interest.

He mimicked Cheng Ya's words, lowering his eyes to ask, "Did I bully you?"

Kim Cho-wan was still holding a spoon in her hand.

She turned to look at him, and he was still smiling.

laugh……?

Kim Cho-wan stood up, supporting herself on the dining table. She turned around and, under Sung-ah's gaze, pinched Lee Sung-eun's ear.

The young man bent over in pain.

Cheng Ya raised her hand to cover her mouth, watching Li Xing'en being "dragged" to the balcony by Jin Chuwan. A moment later, she grinned.

"Wanwan, teach him a lesson!"

After walking onto the balcony, Jin Chuwan finally let go of his hand.

Li Xingen covered his ears and leaned against the wall. His ears were both painful and burning, but his heart was beating faster for no reason.

"Auntie..."

Kim Cho-wan leaned against the wall, not smiling, but staring at Lee Sung-eun.

"You just heard that?"

Li Xingen lowered his eyes, not looking at her, and simply asked, "What did you hear?"

"You were upset because Jiang Chen spoke ill of you, so you came to tease me?"

Kim Jong-un launched a punitive expedition on the evening of the 1st.

Li Xing'en finally looked at her, but then looked away again after a short while. His back was almost pressed against the wall, and she was very close to him, close enough to hear her breathing.

Her temper has really gotten much worse.

He couldn't help but be distracted by his thoughts.

But he couldn't help feeling excited because he liked the distance he was in now.

"I'm asking you."

Kim Cho-wan kicked Lee Sung in the shin.

It wasn't a hard kick, but Li Xing'en looked like she was in pain, and her eyes welled up with tears as she looked over.

"Yes... I heard it."

It's strange. Not long ago, he was thinking about how to make Jiang Chen disappear, but now that Jin Chuwan is pinning him against the wall, he feels that none of that matters anymore.

The balcony lights were off, and only a small gap was left in the curtains, through which light leaked in.

Li Xing'en hung his head; he was faking pain.

His gaze shifted from doubt to worry as he watched her, and his heart pounded faster and faster.

There were only the two of them in the narrow, dimly lit space.

very nice.

"Listen to me, if you're unhappy in the future, just say so directly. Don't beat around the bush and throw a tantrum, especially in that situation just now. If you're unhappy, why don't you go and cause trouble for Jiang Chen? Do you think I'm a pushover?"

Jin Chuwan's gaze was somewhat aggressive. Li Xingen's lips moved slightly as he looked at her cautiously, like a 1.85-meter-tall young wife afraid of being abused at home.

"I am not."

What is that?

"You touched him..."

Li Xingen's answer was not very clear, and he knew it was childish, but he was still angry.

"The two of you were hiding in the room, and you even touched his hair..."

Jin Chuwan was shocked; the door wasn't even closed. What did it mean to hide in a room like that...?

“You didn’t even touch my hair. If you wanted to touch my hair, why didn’t you touch mine? My hair is clearly longer, thicker, and softer than his. Jiang Chen just pretends to be kind or talks badly about me behind my back. He…”

Lee Sung-eun wanted to continue his accusations, but Kim Cho-wan covered his mouth.

Her movements were a bit rough, but Li Xing'en wasn't angry.

He looked down at her.

Her eyes seemed to hold a mixture of disappointment and frustration, anger and helplessness.

"You, no, it's me, I'm really going crazy..."

Jin Chuwan was a little incoherent, and she ruffled Li Xingen's hair haphazardly as if admitting defeat.

The actions were perfunctory, and after finishing, they walked straight out onto the balcony.

Lee Sung-eun watched Kim Cho-wan's retreating figure, and saw the look in her eyes when she suddenly turned around, as if to say, "Enough, stop making a scene."

He couldn't help but cover his mouth to avoid laughing too loudly so she could hear him.

A moment later, Li Xing'en composed herself, lifted the curtains, and followed him out.

The people in the living room all looked over, then at Jin Chuwan, their expressions varying. Cheng Ya was very satisfied and happy, Cheng Xiucheng was a little shocked and a little scared, while Jiang Chen pursed his lips, his expression unreadable.

Li Xing'en looked like she had been violently beaten; her ears were red, her eyes were red, and her hair was a mess.

Before pulling out a chair and sitting down, he glanced at Jiang Chen.

That look in his eyes was a little ambiguous, a little boastful, and a little provocative.

Jin Chuwan didn't dare to look too closely or think too deeply about it; she just ate her dinner with a bit of depression.

She originally thought that after making things clear with them, things would be quiet around her from now on, but that's clearly not the case now. Even just touching Jiang Chen's hair was misinterpreted to that extent by Li Xing'en.

He was angry, jealous, resentful, and persistent, even seriously comparing who could touch him better.

It's infuriating, yet kind of funny.

Jin Chuwan thought about the day's events before going to sleep, and had some trouble falling. She still wanted to follow her heart; if she liked someone, they would be together; if not, she wouldn't force herself. As for being followed to her home...

Just shamelessly assume you're too charming; there's no harm in it anyway.

However, it seems that Lee Sung-eun's cooking skills have improved even more than before.

Kim Chu was woken up by a phone call the next evening.

She rubbed her eyes and sat up. The voice on the phone was both familiar and unfamiliar.

"Hey, I've arrived at Changi Airport. Aren't you coming to pick me up?"

Jin Chuwan was stunned for a moment. She glanced at her phone; it was an unfamiliar number.

“You…” Jin Chuwan said, then suddenly realized what she meant.

"Ran...Ran Min?"
