Chapter 40
The boy's eyes held a hint of ambiguity, but the next second, Jin Chuwan ruthlessly pushed his face away.
"It's none of your business—"
The car stopped shortly afterward, and Jin Chuwan pushed Yin Zhihua aside and went straight into the villa.
Jiang Chen got out of the car, glanced at Yin Zhihua who was still yawning, and pointed to the car behind him.
"If you need delivery, just tell the driver yourself."
After saying that, Jiang Chen quickly caught up with Jin Chuwan, who had walked away. He had no choice; he didn't have a key to Li Xingen's house, and if he didn't keep up with Jin Chuwan, he might be locked out.
The villa was quiet. At first, Jin Chuwan thought no one was home, but when she turned on the light, she found Li Xing'en asleep on the sofa.
She quickly changed her shoes, then walked to the sofa and patted it lightly.
"Xing En? Wake up, don't sleep here."
The boy's brow twitched, and his thick eyelashes trembled slightly, making him look beautiful and gentle.
But those suddenly opened, cold eyes startled Jin Chuwan for a moment.
"So it was my aunt..."
Lee Sung-eun murmured something, then closed her eyes and moved closer to Kim Cho-wan.
This seemingly coquettish gesture led Jin Chuwan to attribute her momentary lapse to her own illusion.
She raised her hand and pushed him again, "Get up quickly, go back to your room and sleep."
This time, Li Xing'en finally sat up obediently, but he didn't seem to be fully awake. He shook his head and leaned on Jin Chuwan's shoulder again.
Just then, the sound of a door closing came from outside the entrance hall. The boy's gaze passed through the girl's hair as Jiang Chen entered the room.
Those gray eyes were silent, as if devoid of any emotion.
"Did Auntie spend the whole day with that young master Jiang?"
The young man asked the question gently, but Jin Chuwan inexplicably felt a little nervous.
She pushed Li Xing'en's head away, then frowned and looked back at Jiang Chen.
"No, we just ran into each other on the way back."
Li Xingen raised her hand to rub her temples, then smiled and said, "That's quite a coincidence."
Jin Chuwan opened her mouth but did not answer. She squatted in front of the sofa and stared at Li Xing'en. Because of Jiang Chen's words, she would always unconsciously start to overthink.
Will he like her?
Kim Cho-wan found it hard to believe.
This child is simply too perfect. Whether it is appearance, family background, character, or knowledge, he is almost impeccable.
As for herself, it wasn't that Jin Chuwan was being self-deprecating, but realistically speaking, she was indeed far inferior to them.
How many flowers in this world would insist on chasing after something else?
Having Jiang Chen is absurd enough.
As Jin Chuwan was deep in thought, Jiang Chen suddenly walked over.
"You've been running around all day, why aren't you resting? What are you doing sitting here daydreaming?"
Jin Chuwan turned her head upon hearing this, "I've already said, my affairs are none of your business—"
Jiang Chen looked down at Jin Chuwan, then glanced at Li Xing'en, "If I don't care about you, who will? Your little nephew?"
These words indeed angered Li Xing'en, and the young man looked up and laughed.
"Young Master Jiang, do you really think I won't kick you out?"
Jin Chuwan didn't have time to be surprised that Jiang Chen knew about her relationship with Li Xing'en, so she quickly stood up to block their view.
She nudged Jiang Chen, then looked at Li Xing'en, who had stood up.
"Um, don't be angry..."
Just as Jin Chuwan was trying to figure out how to persuade the two of them, Jiang Chen grabbed her hand.
"Don't worry, I won't do things you don't like."
After Jiang Chen finished speaking, he smiled at the sitting boy.
"I'm sorry, but I found out about your relationship with Wanwan after asking Mr. Li a little. I hope Mr. Li won't be angry about such a small matter."
Upon hearing this, Li Xing'en stood up as well. He glanced at Jin Chuwan, who seemed a little nervous, and then smiled gently.
"It seems that Young Master Jiang has been quite free lately. I hope you will have just as much time to get to know me in the future."
After finishing her sentence, Li Xingen went straight upstairs.
This conversation, which was clearly fraught with tension, made Jin Chuwan both worried and angry. She couldn't help but grumble at Jiang Chen.
"Why do you have to pick a fight with Xing En? You're staying at her house and making her angry. How have you become so childish?"
Recalling the look in his eyes when he entered the room, Jiang Chen smiled mockingly and looked at Jin Chuwan, whose brows were furrowed.
"Whether you believe it or not, he provoked me first."
As he spoke, he raised his hand and pressed Jin Chuwan's brow.
"Also, stop frowning. Didn't I say I won't do anything you don't like? And he probably won't either..."
Jiang Chen gently stroked Jin Chuwan's palm, then lowered his head and whispered in her ear.
"So you'd better keep a close eye on me, otherwise I might really do something I shouldn't."
After the boy finished speaking, he chuckled and turned to leave, while Jin Chuwan stood frozen in place, watching Jiang Chen's retreating figure.
What, what kind of bullshit supervision?
This is all utter nonsense...
Jin Chuwan scratched her head. Having never been in a relationship in either of her two lives, she had no idea how to handle these difficult men.
Maybe we should find an opportunity to go abroad soon.
With mixed feelings, Jin Chuwan went upstairs. She took out her pajamas and prepared to take a hot shower in the bathroom, but as soon as she opened the door, she saw Li Xing'en changing clothes.
The boy's physique was not as slender as it usually appeared; his bare chest exuded a subtle sense of aggression, which inevitably aroused the imagination.
The next moment, Jin Chuwan closed the door.
"Sorry, you can use it first."
Hearing the slightly panicked sounds outside, Li Xing'en looked at herself in the mirror and smiled ambiguously.
—She actually blushed.
Back in her room, Kim Cho-wan threw her clothes on the bed. At that moment, she finally realized that choosing to stay at Lee Sung-eun's house was a mistake.
The only thing that relieved her was that she only needed to hold on for another two or three days to move out.
That evening, the class group, which had been quiet all along, suddenly became lively. The counselor's idea was to organize an activity before the official start of the semester to help the students get to know each other. Jin Chuwan never liked to participate in such activities, but considering that she could avoid Jiang Chen and Li Xingen, she finally signed up.
The next day, Jin Chuwan got up early as usual. She thought Jiang Chen and Li Xingen were still resting at this time. When she went downstairs, she found Jiang Chen and Ran Xian sitting at the dining table chatting about something, while Li Xingen seemed to be in the kitchen. Jiang Chen saw her carrying a bag and asked her with a smile.
"What, are you going to be 'busy' all day today too?"
Jin Chuwan's expression stiffened for a moment, but she didn't panic too much because she now had a legitimate reason.
"The counselor sent a message asking the whole class to gather at Central Park."
As Jin Chuwan spoke, she casually shook her phone.
Just then, Li Xing'en, who was preparing breakfast, suddenly poked her head out of the kitchen and asked, "Our class also received the news that it's in Central Park. What time is it for you?"
Jin Chuwan paused for a moment, then replied, "Eight o'clock."
Li Xingen nodded, took the apron, and then brought the breakfast out of the kitchen.
"That's perfect, let's go together later."
The boy smiled at Jin Chuwan and said, "Come and eat first."
There's no point in saying anything now. Jin Chuwan sighed, then put down her backpack and sat down next to Ran Xian.
Why did you come here so early in the morning?
Ran Xian opened his phone, directly pulled up his conversation with Ran Min, and handed it to Jin Chuwan.
Jin Chuwan flipped through the messages one by one; it seemed that Ran Xian was reporting on her relationship with Jiang Chen and Li Xing'en.
In short, he claimed they were in a love triangle, and Ran Min seemed to believe it too. Her order to Ran Xian was to bring her and Li Xing'en together so she could comfort Jiang Chen, who was heartbroken.
Jin Chuwan watched for a while and felt both annoyed and amused.
"If you show this to me like this, Ran Min will know that I'll have to 'take care' of you again."
Upon hearing this, Ran Xian suddenly laughed, "Grandfather has given me a new card. From now on, I'm cutting ties with Ran Min. I won't do anything for her anymore..."
Upon hearing this, Jin Chuwan shook her head.
"You didn't want to, but you still came?"
