Chapter 57

Chapter 57

Jin Chu gave an address in the evening.

Ran Min immediately said "OK," and then generously told her to stay home, wash up, and wait.

Jin Chuwan stared blankly at the phone after it was hung up, feeling lost for a long time.

What kind of nonsense is this?

--

When Ran Xian heard Ran Min call Jin Chuwan, he already foresaw that he would become a gofer.

Inside the KTV room, a few friends were arm in arm. At first, they thought Ran Min was calling Jiang Chen, but when they heard it was a girl, they started to stir again.

"Who is it? Do I know them? Are they good-looking?"

Ran Xian raised his hand to push away the head that was leaning towards him, and then said to Ran Min, "Are you sure you want her to come over?"

Ran Min was admiring her newly done manicure when she heard Ran Xian's question. She pondered for a moment, but quickly understood.

“What’s wrong with friends having a meal together? If it really doesn’t work out, you’re here…” Ran Min said, raising her hand to lock her younger brother’s neck: “Besides, I’ve created an opportunity for you, can’t you try to make an effort for your own happiness?”

Ran Xian chuckled and pulled Ran Min's arm away, then mercilessly exposed her.

"Don't make it sound so high and mighty. You're clearly just doing this for yourself." As he spoke, Ran Xian glanced next door. The two idiots who were just asking if it looked good were now fighting over the microphone. He thought for a moment and then lowered his voice to persuade them.

"I'm telling you, since Jiang Chen rejected you like that at the last party, just let him go. Besides, there are so many men in the world, can't you just—"

Ranxian, who was speaking, shut up.

Because he was choked again.

Before long, the handsome young man was kicked out of the private room. He tugged at his collar with a look of disdain and then sneered.

Fine, do whatever you want.

They should all just go and have some damn romance.

Anyway, it has nothing to do with him!

Filled with resentment, Ran Xian drove all the way to T University. Although he knew that Jin Chuwan had left Li Xingen's house, he did not know her exact address. He asked several passersby for directions before finally finding his way to the gate of the dilapidated residential area.

Before me were the large, faded characters of "XX Homeland," their original color now illegible.

He was somewhat disgusted, but he still maintained his composure and answered Jin Chuwan's call.

"I've arrived, you can come downstairs now."

The boy, wearing large sunglasses and high-end designer clothes, leaned against the flashy and cool supercar with his legs bent.

If this were a shopping plaza or fashion center, there would be many envious glances, but now, all that passes by Ran Xian are elderly people with hunched backs.

They would only glance at Ran Xian with critical eyes, then shake their heads in disgust.

"How did you park the car..."

Ran Xian pushed up his sunglasses, feeling that his mood had gotten even worse.

Not long after, Jin Chuwan came out of the residential area and quickened her pace when she saw Ran Xian.

"Have you been waiting long?"

Since she left him at Li Xingen's house last time, he hasn't contacted Jin Chuwan again. He was just helping Ran Min look after her, but with so many people around her, he probably didn't need to interfere much.

"It won't be long, let's get in the car first."

Ran Xian gentlemanly opened the car door, his gaze calmly sweeping over Jin Chuwan before drifting towards the rows of old-fashioned low-rise buildings behind.

"To be honest, why do you insist on moving out? Isn't it perfectly fine staying at Li Xing'en's house? I think he treats you quite well, polite and considerate..."

Jin Chuwan, who had just settled into her seat, changed her expression slightly upon hearing Ran Xian's words. She turned to look at the young man who was getting into the car.

In the past, she might not have paid any attention, but she wasn't in a good mood today either.

"So you came here today to tell me this?"

Ran Xian was taken aback by the other party's indifferent and aloof tone, but he felt that he was innocent, after all, he was just making an objective suggestion.

"If you don't think so, then just pretend I didn't say anything."

He started the car and changed the subject.

"Um, I'd like to make this clear beforehand: Ran Min skipped class to come here, and she wasn't just meeting you; she was also meeting a few other friends. If you feel uncomfortable, you can let me know in advance."

Jin Chuwan smiled again upon hearing this: "What am I talking to you about?"

Ran Xian took off his sunglasses and casually buttoned them up at his collar. He felt that Jin Chuwan was acting a little strange today. Although the feeling was very subtle, he was just that sensitive.

What I mean is, if you tell me this, I can find an excuse to take you away.

Ran Xian felt somewhat helpless. He had already argued with Ran Min today, so he didn't want to escalate the conflict with Jin Chuwan.

"And I really meant well just now. If you're upset, I can apologize."

Jin Chuwan remained silent, as being aggressive was not her style.

However, after a while, Jin Chuwan remembered something else.

"By the way, can you return the tuition fees I paid for you?"

Ran Xian, who was driving, was stunned for a moment. In that instant, he suddenly felt like he was the kind of person who owed money and didn't pay it back. But he had indeed forgotten about it, and he had never had the chance to see Jin Chuwan.

"Um... I'll return it to you later. Do you want cash or a bank transfer?"

Jin Chuwan thought for a moment and replied, "Whatever you say."

A cool sports car sped past on the road. When they arrived, Ran Min seemed to be drunk and staggered over to Jin Chuwan.

It's called "leeching" and it really is.

Jin Chuwan frowned as she looked at the person who was leaning against the sofa, half asleep, and leaned over.

The private room was large but messy, with bottles of liquor and snacks scattered all over the table. Apart from a couple who were clearly cuddling together, everyone else was holding microphones and singing off-key songs. When they saw Jin Chuwan enter, they greeted her warmly, but quickly resumed their laughter and joking.

"Why are you taking so long to get here...?"

Ran Min muttered something, then suddenly wrapped her arms around Jin Chuwan's waist, burying her head in Jin Chuwan's chest, seemingly feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

Jin Chuwan looked down and felt helpless.

"You're not feeling well, yet you still want to drink?"

Hearing Jin Chuwan's scolding, Ran Min shifted the blame, saying, "I didn't want to either, they forced me to drink..."

As soon as Ran Min finished speaking, Jin Chuwan's eyes turned cold. She looked up and heard several random voices refuting her.

"What?! You were the one who asked for it!"

"That's right, Ran Min, how could you frame someone?"

"I was just trying to persuade you, but you insisted on saying you should drown your sorrows in alcohol..."

After listening, Jin Chuwan glanced at Ran Xian, who had been looking down at his phone since he came in.

He seemed to notice Kim Cho-wan's gaze, looked up, and then said seriously.

What is your card number?

Jin Chuwan was speechless for a moment, then looked at Ran Xian: "Don't you care about your own sister?"

Ran Xian insisted on waiting for her to give him her card number, then glanced at Ran Min indifferently: "Just throw her on the sofa. It's always the same. She gets drunk after just one drink, but she still insists on drinking more."

Ran Min, who was still in a daze, seemed to hear these words. She suddenly hugged Jin Chuwan even tighter and then burst into tears like a storm.

"Look at him, what kind of younger brother is he? All he does is bully me..."

Jin Chuwan suddenly tensed up because she saw Ran Min start wiping her tears with her clothes. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but since Ran Min was wearing makeup, wiping her tears left a mess.

Jin Chuwan tilted her head back and suddenly regretted coming out.

But Ran Min in her arms had no intention of letting her go. She revealed all the details of the cold treatment she had received from Jiang Chen these past few days.

Why don't they answer the phone or reply to text messages?

Why didn't he dance with her? Why did he reject her confession?

Jin Chuwan was somewhat dazed. Although it was not what she wanted, she seemed to be in a strange love triangle.

Moreover, the strange direction the triangular arrow pointed to made her feel somewhat embarrassed.

After thinking for a moment, she still advised, "Ranmin, there are actually many excellent men out there. Why do you insist on having that one person..."

She seemed to have said the same thing to Jiang Chen not long ago.

Ran Min raised her head, sobbing, and gave Jin Chuwan a rather resentful look.

"I'm not reconciled. I've liked him for so long."

After saying that, she buried herself in Jin Chuwan's arms and continued crying, "Why, why, why do some people get things without doing anything..."

Her voice was so soft and sticky that Jin Chuwan couldn't hear it clearly, and just sighed with a complicated feeling.

Is love really that important?

She gently patted Ran Min's back and casually gave the card number to Ran Xian, who had been waiting for a long time.

Ran Xian sat with his legs crossed, listening to Jin Chuwan coaxing Ran Min. In fact, what she said was similar to what he had said before. The only difference was that his words were usually met with punches and kicks, while Jin Chuwan received snot and tears.

For a moment, Ran Xian didn't know whether she or Jin Chuwan was better.

He sighed subtly, then shifted his posture to look at Jin Chuwan.

"Although my sister is worrying unnecessarily, you are also quite strange."

Jin Chuwan was looking at her skirt with concern when she heard Ran Xian ask her question, and she raised her eyelids slightly.

The music in the private room was like a barrage of artillery fire. The three of them sat on the edge of the room, with Jin Chuwan holding Ran Min and Ran Xian sitting at the table directly opposite them.

The boy leaned slightly forward, approaching Jin Chuwan in an uncomfortable position. His voice wasn't low, but the music was loud enough that no one except Jin Chuwan could hear what he was saying.

"To be honest, anyone can see that Jiang Chen likes you. Isn't he good enough for you? Why do you have to reject him?"

Jin Chuwan looked down at Ran Min. She seemed to be asleep in her arms, but she probably wasn't.

"There's no reason why, I just don't want to be in a relationship."

Just then, someone pressed an atmosphere button, and the lights in the private room suddenly flickered, the neon-like light swaying above everyone's heads. Jin Chuwan's expression was indifferent; she slightly tilted her head up so that her voice could reach the boy's ears more clearly.

Even if he's perfect, does that mean I have to like him? Can't I just not like him?

Ran Xian raised his head and shifted his position to a slightly more distant position from Jin Chuwan. His eyes flickered. To be honest, among the people he knew, Jin Chuwan was probably the only one who could so clearly reject Jiang Chen.

He suddenly became interested.

“Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that,” he replied.

"However, I have another question."

He suddenly felt that Ran Min's suggestion seemed somewhat interesting.

What do you think of me? What do you think of me?

Kim Cho-man's smile was gentler this time.

"Not very good."

Ran Xian didn't seem too frustrated. He listed a few more guys he thought were good, and even added a few popular male celebrities.

As expected, Jin Chuwan rejected all of them outright.

Ran Xian narrowed his eyes, and like a perverted doctor, he asked a few more questions about marriage and family. Finally, he stroked his chin, looked Jin Chuwan up and down for a while, and finally came to a conclusion.

"To be honest, do you have any psychological trauma or anything? Have you been hurt by someone before?"
