Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Jin Chuwan frowned; the other party's flippant attitude made her very uncomfortable.

"Is there something you need?"

She asked the question casually.

Xia Zhihe seemed to realize that his tone had displeased the other party. He lowered his head and chuckled softly, then explained, "Don't misunderstand, I didn't mean to offend you. I'm just really curious whether Jiang Chen has been dumped..."

He recalled the expression on his face during the day and added an emphasis.

“This is very important to me.”

As someone who has worked in the workplace, Jin Chuwan could understand him. She occasionally had similar thoughts in her mind: being dissatisfied with her boss and hoping that everything would go wrong for the leader.

But what does this have to do with her?

Li Xingen looked down at Jin Chuwan. Although it was very subtle, he could still see a hint of coldness in her gaze. Perhaps it was because he rarely saw her with such an expression, so he became a little interested at this moment.

“That’s your problem,” Jin Chuwan replied calmly.

Jin Chuwan was indeed not happy; Xia Zhihe's tone and voice made her feel disgusted.

He seemed to regard her and Jiang Chen as little kids playing a dating game, and every word he uttered contained contempt and disdain.

He even held the same attitude towards Li Xing'en.

This infuriated Jin Chuwan.

However, she did not show her dissatisfaction. In fact, she seemed quite calm, and even though her answer was rather indifferent, it was still impeccable.

They didn't have much of a relationship to begin with.

Caught off guard, Xia Zhihe's smile froze slightly. He touched his chin, a hint of confusion in his eyes. No matter what, his face was usually quite attractive to women; why did he seem to be getting the short end of the stick?

He probably didn't do anything, right?

Why do I feel like you hate me?

The man chuckled softly. Jin Chuwan turned her head, and the two looked at each other for less than a second before Jin Chuwan looked away.

"I don't."

Her voice was faint. Xia Zhihe listened to Jin Chuwan's insincere reply, narrowed his eyes and chuckled softly.

"Since you don't have any, how about we grab a late-night snack together?"

The night wind always comes in gusts, sometimes cool and sometimes stuffy.

The three stood by the roadside, surrounded by indistinct chatter and the occasional sound of car horns. Xia Zhihe's question seemed to fall into thin air. Jin Chuwan did not answer, while Li Xingen crossed her arms as if watching a commotion.

"It seems you really do hate me..." The man sighed, a regretful look on his face.

Normally, Xia Zhihe would have wisely left, but today he didn't want to do that.

Can I know why?

The man leaned against the car window, his chin resting on his arm, giving him an incongruously docile appearance.

Jin Chuwan did not answer. She stared at the man for a while before slowly asking.

Is there something you want to tell me?

To be honest, her attitude towards Xia Zhihe was not polite at all. If it were her, she probably would have left in a huff long ago, but he seemed completely unconcerned.

This left Kim Cho-wan somewhat bewildered.

"Can't we chat if there's nothing wrong? I thought we were already friends."

Xia Zhihe's answer plunged Jin Chuwan into silence once again. After a while, she managed a slightly stiff smile.

"Okay, but it's very late now. I need to go home and rest. We can talk about it later."

After saying that, Jin Chuwan waved to the man in the car, then pulled Li Xing'en away.

The rejected man was clearly still in shock. He stared at the two men's backs for a while before letting out a nonchalant hum.

"Young people these days are really something..."

Xia Zhihe's voice carried a hint of resentment, but this resentment could not reach Jin Chuwan.

It's not exactly late at night yet, but because it's on the outskirts of the city, even the residential areas aren't as bustling and lively as the city center. At this hour, besides men who would rather drink until they vomit than go home, there are only some social workers returning home late.

Kim Cho-wan turned her head and glanced at Lee Sung-eun.

For some reason, he had been looking at her with great interest since earlier. Jin Chuwan wanted to ignore him, but his presence was too strong, so she simply asked him directly.

Why are you looking at me like that? I find it strange.

"Hmm... how should I put it..." The boy's eyes held a smile. He seemed to be thinking seriously, but when Jin Chuwan wasn't paying attention, he suddenly leaned close to her ear and said, "It's just that seeing you being mean to another man suddenly made me feel really good?"

Jin Chuwan covered her ears and moved away. When she saw that Li Xing'en still wanted to come closer, she raised her hand and pushed her away.

"I wasn't being mean to anyone; I'm like this with people I don't know well..."

“You didn’t treat me like this when we first met.”

Jin Chuwan couldn't help but feel helpless upon hearing this, because you are the child of the male and female leads, and who would bully a child for no reason...

"This is different..."

Jin Chuwan finished speaking perfunctorily and looked away. The boy's bright eyes made her feel a little overwhelmed. She wanted to avoid the topic, but Li Xing'en wouldn't let her go.

"Different? Why? How are they different..."

On the dimly lit street, two shadows briefly overlapped and then quickly separated. The longer shadow always tried to get closer, but was repeatedly rejected by the shorter shadow.

"Li Xing'en, stop it already! If you keep taking advantage of me like this, I'll—"

Jin Chuwan pushed away the head that was trying to get closer. Her face was slightly flushed. She tried to be serious, but her threat didn't seem to have much effect.

"Just...what?"

The boy's voice was slow and low, and he lowered his head, but his eyes, peeking out from between his fingers, revealed a deep smile.

Jin Chuwan watched as he suddenly raised his hand and placed it on hers, and soon she felt a dampness in her palm.

Kim Cho-wan was stunned.

Almost instantly, she tried to pull her hand back, but Li Xing'en held it firmly in place.

She couldn't break free.

A gentle breeze ruffled the boy's hair, and his beautiful eyes were completely shrouded in shadow, making them indistinct to Jin Chuwan.

All she could hear was his deep voice.

"Auntie won't get rid of the man like this..."

"You should be harsher, like slapping me harder, or grabbing my hair tightly and telling me to get away..."

The wind suddenly stopped, and the still air enveloped people like a blanket, making them instinctively anxious and depressed.

Jin Chuwan felt the warm, moist sensation moving between her fingers. The soft touch made her palms tremble. She tried to pull her hand back, but still failed. After repeating this several times, Jin Chuwan felt exhausted. She helplessly lowered her head, but then instantly looked up alertly.

Her body stiffened slightly, and her eyes showed disbelief.

Jin Chuwan looked at Li Xingen.

He...he's biting her...

Although it wasn't very painful, it did feel slightly numb.

A joyful smile flashed in the boy's eyes, and Jin Chuwan could clearly sense his excitement.

It's like finally doing something you've always wanted to do.

“Li Xing'en…”

"Get out of here—"

Jin Chuwan's voice drifted over with the gentle breeze, the two mingling as they brushed against her ear, causing a slight tickle. Li Xing'en's fingers twitched unconsciously, and a sudden surge of heat welled up in his chest, making him unable to resist lowering his head and bringing his ear close to hers again.

"I've already said, this is—"

The boy's voice was quickly replaced by a muffled groan.

The pain from the pulling of his hair forced him to tilt his chin slightly upwards, so he couldn't see Jin Chuwan's expression; he could only hear her voice, full of endurance and frustration.

"Li Xing'en, can you please stop being ridiculous..."

--

A conspicuous sports car was parked behind the two.

This time, no harsh honking interrupted their conversation.

The traffic lights at the intersection were flashing rapidly.

Xia Zhihe looked at the intersection ahead through the car window, and at a certain moment, his pupils suddenly contracted.

The streetlights ahead indicated that it was safe to pass, but he seemed to have forgotten that.

"hiss--"

The man sitting in the car gasped and then suddenly sat up.

no……

them?

--

At that moment, Jin Chuwan didn't notice the sports car passing by. She was slowly releasing the pressure on her fingers. She had no time to think about anything else; she was just staring intently at Li Xing'en's expression. Thinking about what she had just done, her heart began to pound uncontrollably.

Has she gone mad too?

The boy remained with his head tilted back, so she couldn't see any of his expression.

Jin Chuwan felt her heart beating even faster. In any case, Li Xing'en was the protagonist in the book, and perhaps she shouldn't act impulsively.

“Star, Star Grace…”

Jin Chuwan called out the boy's name. This time, he finally lowered his head. His usually gentle and elegant eyes were actually glistening with a faint moisture. He raised his hand and gently wiped it away, then complained in a low voice.

"My auntie hurt me so much..."

Jin Chuwan stiffened. She instinctively wanted to apologize, but the words she said changed to, "You... bit me first..."

Li Xingen chuckled softly, ran his hand through his hair to tidy it up, and then rested his head on Jin Chuwan's shoulder.

He felt her body stiffen slightly.

"I suddenly realized that it's actually kind of nice for my aunt to occasionally hurt me like this..."

The boy's voice was slightly hoarse yet carried an inexplicable allure. Jin Chuwan stiffened even more upon hearing this, and slowly turned her head to look behind her. Li Xing'en had his arms around her, his head resting on her shoulder like a large pet.

Jin Chuwan's feelings at this moment were hard to describe; she was somewhat confused and bewildered.

She looked down at her palm; she had really used force just now.

She thought he would be angry.

“Li Xing'en…”

Jin Chuwan murmured the name of the person behind her, then didn't know what to say. She stood there with her mouth open for a long time, but in the end she just sighed.

"Please let go, I want to go home."

After Jin Chuwan finished speaking, she felt the head on her shoulder move, but his hands did not let go.

"I'll let go if my aunt kisses me."

The voice close to her ear was especially clear, yet had an indescribable stickiness to it. Jin Chuwan couldn't help but raise her hand to touch her ear. She looked down at the arm the boy was holding around her and sighed softly.

Without a doubt, as the son of the male and female protagonists, Li Xing'en is also one of the main characters of this world. Just like in typical novels, he is handsome, rich, and has almost no flaws. Wherever he goes, he can easily attract everyone's attention and easily gain the admiration of many people.

He has so much.

But he seemed to have no self-respect in front of her.

Although she was somewhat slow to realize it, Kim Cho-wan suddenly realized something.

She turned her head slightly and spoke slowly.

"Li Xing'en, can I do whatever I want to you?"
