Chapter 95

Chapter 95

Jiang Chen hung up the phone almost the instant he heard it.

He didn't have time to pay attention to Li Xing'en's madness, because he also wanted to know where Jin Chuwan had gone. All the information he had before was in England, but he had just confirmed that there was no new student named Jin Chuwan enrolled there.

In the letter he received, Kim Cho-wan only said not to look for her.

It seemed she wanted to disappear from his world completely, a response even more devastating than a direct rejection, which Jiang Chen found unacceptable.

He stood in front of the dark marble desk, looking somewhat tired and dejected.

But this sense of loss didn't last long. Jiang Chen glanced down at his phone and then dialed another number.

However, all I heard from the other end of the line was a long busy tone, and the call ended automatically as the screen suddenly went dark.

Jiang Chen smiled, his clear, cold eyes now dark and deep.

"Run..."

Jiang Chen murmured.

This day was destined to be chaotic.

Without much hesitation, Li Xing'en went directly to the Jiang family villa after being hung up on. Since they lived in the same villa area, the residents of the two villas saw each other all the time.

But today, Young Master Li seems to be coming on strong.

Upon arriving at the Jiang residence, Li Xing'en, to the astonishment of the butler, kicked open the master's bedroom door.

Jiang Chen, however, sat upright on the sofa without even raising an eyebrow.

He glanced at Li Xing'en, then raised his hand in a casual gesture.

It looks like we've been waiting for a long time.

But Li Xing'en ignored all of that. Suppressing his anger, he still managed a forced smile: "Is this the warning you gave me before?"

Jiang Chen understood what he meant, but at this moment, he only found it grating.

He only said those things because he didn't want Li Xing'en to pester Jin Chuwan too much.

But now it's become a joke.

"No matter what you think, I'm just telling you, I don't know where she is right now."

As Jiang Chen spoke, he threw his phone, which was already out of battery, onto the table. He sank into the sofa, looking somewhat weak and sleepy.

But faced with Li Xingen's suspicious gaze, he still patiently continued to explain.

“I admit that I knew from the beginning that she was going abroad, and I did try to handle the matter discreetly, but I only found out shortly before your call that Jin Chuwan was going to a different school than the one I knew before.”

"So I don't know where she went."

Jiang Chen pressed his temples as he spoke.

Although he wouldn't call himself arrogant, he had been aware of his family's prominence and distinction since he could remember. Whatever he wanted would appear before him within a day; those unattainable positions were easy for him to achieve with a little effort.

Perhaps things have been going smoothly for too long.

So even though Jin Chuwan didn't like him, he never felt too disappointed or sad. He was a persistent and determined person; he thought that life was long, and everything could start slowly.

But even after using all available resources, he still can't find any trace of Jin Chuwan.

This made Jiang Chen feel an unprecedented sense of frustration.

He hadn't even figured out who was stopping him...

If he hadn't been truly desperate, he wouldn't have spoken to Li Xing'en so calmly today.

A delicate bouquet of flowers sat in the room, seemingly out of place in this otherwise austere space. The housekeeper and Aunt Hui eavesdropped outside for a while, only relaxing after confirming there was no conflict inside.

Li Xing'en stood in front of the sofa without moving.

He stared intently at the person on the sofa.

He originally came to confront Jiang Chen, but now Jiang Chen looked more like a stray dog than he did.

This left Li Xing'en with even more nowhere to vent her frustration.

He had considered that Jiang Chen was just acting, but he couldn't convince himself otherwise.

After all, he knew very well that Jiang Chen, like him, was an arrogant person.

He was better at being a hypocrite, while Jiang Chen preferred to be a genuine villain.

Finally, Li Xing'en relaxed, pulled out a chair, sat down, and drank the tea on the table in one gulp.

"So, what do you want me to do?"

--

Winter begins not long after October ends.

Jin Chuwan, carrying a backpack, wandered through the streets of this foreign country. Although she had been here for more than half a month, she was still not quite used to it.

Even though everyone around her had the same Asian features.

The double-decker tram stopped at the platform. Jin Chuwan looked at the map in her hand, jogged a few steps to catch up, and checked with the driver again before boarding the bus.

The climate here is warm; many people are still wearing short sleeves in November.

The streets were crowded, and after the tram had traveled through more than a dozen streets, Kim Cho-wan finally pressed the stop button.

Not far from the station was a Western restaurant. Jin Chuwan looked at the English sign and carefully pushed the door open. However, before she could even look around carefully, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

"Wanwan—"

Kim Cho-wan finally breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the person.

It seems she didn't go to the wrong place.

She walked over, and before she could even sit down, she was given a bear hug.

"Wanwan, you have no idea how much I miss you, but don't worry, my brother has already promised, so I can come and be with you soon~ Also, Jiang Chen and that Li guy, they've been tricked into going to Germany by fake news, it's hilarious, they're so stupid!"

Jin Chuwan looked at Cheng Ya, who was beaming with excitement, feeling both helpless and touched: "I don't know how to thank you."

She had initially planned to go with Ran Xian, but after careful consideration, she realized she wasn't really interested in Europe. She simply wanted to finish her studies, then work and live her life. She didn't want too much turmoil around her, nor did she aspire to achieve anything extraordinary.

That day, she just suddenly felt like talking to someone, so she dialed Cheng Ya's number.

But to my surprise, Cheng Ya said without even thinking that she would take care of it.

Kim Cho-wan never expected that she would transfer to the National University of Singapore so smoothly.

So far, besides her and Cheng Ya, only her parents and Jin Chaoyang know about this. But Chaoyang said she would persuade her parents to keep it a secret, so she can now focus on her studies without worry.

Jin Chuwan was somewhat pleased to think about these things, but despite her happiness, she still asked with some concern.

"Um, are Jiang Chen and Li Xing'en still angry?"

Cheng Ya wasn't particularly interested in men. Jiang Chen used to be just a symbol in her eyes, but after she learned that Jin Chuwan wanted to avoid him, Jiang Chen evolved into an annoying symbol.

She relaxed her brows and wrapped her arm around Jin Chuwan's neck: "Why do you care if they're angry or not? People who are ungrateful and clingy should be kicked far away..."

Jin Chuwan shook her head upon hearing this, but quickly nodded again, "Okay, let's not talk about them."

The two hadn't seen each other for a long time. Sitting in the coffee shop, they chatted about recent events. Cheng Ya told her that Cheng Xiucheng had recently started to take serious charge of the company, so Cheng Ya's burden had lessened considerably. Although the Cheng family intended to train her, she still had her studies to complete, so for now, the family planned to let her off the hook.

"Soon we'll be able to be together every day~"

Jin Chuwan looked at Cheng Ya's happy face, but suddenly remembered someone: "What about Ming Jing?"

Cheng Ya was somewhat bewildered upon hearing the name: "Him? He went to America. Why are you suddenly bringing him up?"

Jin Chuwan was stunned. She had thought they would end up together, but it seemed that they hadn't.

So she could only make up a random excuse: "I remember you two were childhood sweethearts, and I thought you'd stay together even after you went abroad..."

Cheng Ya looked disgusted after hearing this.

"No, he's like a butler. I'm happiest when I'm with you..."

The two chatted happily in the restaurant. After leaving, Jin Chuwan led Cheng Ya on a tour of the school. Although she wasn't very familiar with it, Cheng Ya didn't seem to mind. She just wanted to walk, chat, eat, and sleep with her.

sleep……

Jin Chuwan looked at Cheng Ya lying on her small bed, her expression filled with confusion.

"Aren't you taking the flight back tonight?"

Cheng Ya pulled out two identical sets of pajamas from the box and happily spread them out on the bed.

"No, my flight is in three days, and I have nowhere else to stay here. You won't refuse to take me in, will you?"

"Huh? Of course not..."

Jin Chuwan scratched her head as she spoke, indicating that she couldn't possibly not.

But Cheng Ya said she had nowhere to stay... It sounds so unbelievable...

However, Jin Chuwan didn't think too much about it. Her accommodation here was quite good, a high-rise studio apartment with complete security and a quiet environment. Even if Cheng Ya wanted to stay overnight, it wouldn't be a problem.

That evening, the two huddled together and talked.

Cheng Ya kept urging Jin Chuwan to stay by her side and become her personal assistant.

"But I know nothing about business, how can I help you?"

do what?

Cheng Ya rolled over and half-laid on top of Jin Chuwan.

"Just... chat with me, have coffee, and eat desserts whenever you want?"

Jin Chuwan laughed again upon hearing this, "Then I don't have to do anything at all..."

"You can tell me what you want to do, and I'll give you the green light..."

The two continued their pointless conversation until late at night. Jin Chuwan didn't even know when she fell asleep, but she remembered laughing many times.

Perhaps it was because Cheng Ya's cakes were so delicious that I felt like I didn't need to work hard and already had a bright future.

But dreams always end. After waking up, Jin Chuwan, with her hair all messed up, changed her clothes and tidied up her books.

Yes, she has to go to class today.

Cheng Ya woke up at some point, still wearing a heart-shaped apron. When she saw Jin Chuwan looking flustered, she laughed happily.

"Don't rush, don't rush, have breakfast first, and I'll drive you there later..."

Jin Chuwan came out of the bathroom and was about to refuse when Cheng Ya fed her a big mouthful of egg.

"Did you drive the car?"

Because she was eating, Jin Chuwan mumbled her short sentence, but Cheng Ya actually understood it. She squinted her eyes and straightened her name tag.

"I could be the future president of Cheng's Group."

After swallowing the egg, Jin Chuwan picked up the water glass on the table and took a sip.

"Yes, yes, may I ask if Mr. Cheng, do you have a Singapore driver's license?"

Cheng Ya paused for a moment, then turned her back and quietly made a phone call. After Jin Chuwan finished dinner, Cheng Ya returned awkwardly.

"Um... don't worry, I've called a driver over!"
