Chapter 4: The Fourth Day of Transmigrating to the Book, Little Aunt

He Chen looked at Yun Shuning and took a while to understand the meaning of her words.

Before this, he had always been skeptical about the relationship between her and his uncle. It wasn't that he didn't believe it, but he thought that the person in his memory would never fall in love with anyone.

Can a person who is so cold and indifferent as if he doesn't care about anyone really fall in love with a woman?

For her, I would carefully hide my preferences, just to make her feel more relaxed.

Yun Shuning looked at the silent person opposite him, and the expression on his face slowly returned to silence, or it would be more appropriate to describe it as dead silence.

"I'm full, thank you for the treat." She stood up, and the chair made a shrill sound as it moved back. "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?"

Before He Chen could say anything, a servant took her to the bathroom at the edge of the first floor.

He followed subconsciously, and after walking for a while he stopped in annoyance.

He didn't have any quirks, but her expression was too calm, so calm that it was eerie, which made him feel a little uneasy.

Looking at the door of the bathroom not far away, He Chen frowned and turned around.

Just as I was about to leave, I heard the faint sound of retching.

He suddenly turned around and looked in the direction he had just been. After a long while, he turned around and told the servant who was waiting on the side:

"Take Miss Yun to the study on the second floor in a moment."

After vomiting, Yun Shuning stood up with a pale face.

She didn't like the taste of coriander in the first place, and after taking a sip of the soup, her taste buds were almost numb. Then, she was scared by He Chen, and her stomach felt even more uncomfortable.

But, did she get through this stage?

After washing his hands, Yun Shuning adjusted his facial expression and his body posture changed accordingly, looking weak and fragile.

"Ms. Yun."

As soon as he saw her, the servant waiting at the door quickly spoke, "Mr. He just said that when you come out, you can go directly to the study on the second floor."

Yun Shuning's expression did not change at all. She tilted her head to look in the direction of the servant, and her voice sounded vague and disembodied: "Thank you for your trouble."

Hearing her voice, the servant felt as if her ears were baptized. She, who had little cultural level, suddenly remembered a poem: "It is like hearing heavenly music, and her ears are temporarily enlightened."

It would be better if this voice didn't sound so sad.

As she thought about it, she led her to the door of the study and said respectfully: "This is the study, Miss Yun can go in directly."

"Thank you." Yun Shuning looked at the slightly open door and spoke softly.

"You're welcome." The maid replied quickly. If it weren't for her professional ethics, she would really like to record this sentence and listen to it every night before going to bed. She took a deep breath and said with a smile, "Then I'll leave first. If you have anything, you can just press the study bell to find me."

As soon as she turned around, she heard a hesitant voice behind her: "Have you been working here for a long time?"

She turned her head and clearly saw Yun Shuning's hopeful look. She shook her head blankly: "No, I only came here to work in the past two years."

"Is that so?" Yun Shuning laughed at himself, "I forgot that he doesn't like having other people at home."

"You should get busy now."

The servant turned away in confusion, not knowing why she asked that question.

Yun Shuning turned around, the look in her eyes changed several times, from hesitation to resistance and then to determination, and finally she gently pushed open the door.

She was only paying attention to the study and didn't notice that in the room behind her, He Chen was standing at the door, looking at her with complicated eyes.

This study is as monotonous and cold as the living room on the first floor, with a black table and a bookshelf made of antique wood that stretches across the entire room. It looks extremely simple and devoid of any life.

Just by looking at the decoration, you can tell that the owner of the study must be a minimalist.

After a quick glance, she stopped her gaze on the documents on the desk.

This should be the information that He Chen wants her to see.

She picked up the pile of information and looked over with her head down. She was not sure if there were any cameras in the room, so her every move was consistent with her current personality.

She read page by page very carefully.

He Yan is pretty much the same as the person described in the book, strong and indifferent, meticulous, and able to do anything he wants to do. Just like in the novel, he likes to be alone.

More importantly, he would erase all his schedule except for work and would not let anyone know what he was doing.

The author probably wrote this in preparation for his future disappearance. Since there is no itinerary for him and no one cares about where he is going, his disappearance will not cause much of a stir.

She and he are just cannon fodders to promote the love between the male and female protagonists in the story.

But it's better this way. She was afraid that her lie would be exposed, but after looking at He Yan's schedule, since the police couldn't find anything, the same should be true for He Chen.

As for her itinerary, five years ago, she was just an ordinary person and no one would pay attention to her. Even if there was surveillance, it should have been automatically deleted after such a long period of time.

What she needs to do now is to make her lies more reasonable.

Thinking of this, Yun Shuning looked serious but actually didn't care as she flipped through the information that proved He Chen's innocence. Anyway, she had already known that his disappearance had nothing to do with him.

She would like to thank the male and female protagonists who often fly pages on the crew. They often ask the screenwriter to write the script, so she often gets the final script a few minutes before performing this scene.

She only had a few minutes to memorize her lines, and her memory kept getting better.

As Yun Shuning turned the pages, she silently memorized He Yan's itinerary before his disappearance, to avoid being exposed when she made up a story later.

After reading it once, she put down the information and stared blankly at the table like a puppet that had lost its soul.

Sure enough, after a while, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in." Her voice sounded barely audible. If He Chen had not been paying attention to the movements in the study, he might not have heard her answer at all.

The door of the study was not closed tightly, leaving a gap. He pushed the door open and saw the person sitting at the desk at a glance.

The dark desk made her hands seem transparent. Because she was looking down, he couldn't see the expression on her face, but he could feel the grief and despair condensed around her.

She sat there, as if she would be swallowed up by the room in the next second.

He Chen stood at the door, not knowing what to say.

"That orchid." Yun Shuning raised his head slowly, with a lingering sadness in his eyes, as if he was looking at him, and as if he was looking through him at other people, "Isn't it a bad idea to put it in the office?"

When she was sorting out the plot of the novel, she guessed the origin of the orchid in his office. Facing his temptation, she should fight back.

He Chen met her gaze and looked away in embarrassment.

That pot of orchid was given to him by his younger uncle on his birthday. Few people knew about this because on that day, he also gave his newly established company a large order.

At this moment, he suddenly confirmed her identity.

If she was lying, she wouldn't know these secret things.

"There is a special person who measures the temperature, humidity and growth conditions of that pot of flowers every day." He stood at the door and suddenly remembered that when Yun Shuning came to his office before, she would always subconsciously look at the place where the orchids were placed.

In the past, he thought she liked those proud and fresh flowers, but now it seems that she likes the original owner of the flowers.

If Yun Shuning knew what he was thinking now, he would definitely complain in his heart that the original owner had been subconsciously staring at the pot of flowers just because she accidentally heard about its value.

That is a flower worth millions. Who can resist taking a second look at it?

"I see." Yun Shuning's voice was like a sigh, "I thought you didn't like it very much."

Seeing that she seemed to not care about anything, He Chen frowned. He did not ask her if she knew his innocence, but asked a question that could stir up the waves in her heart: "Miss Yun, do you want to go to your uncle's bedroom to take a look?"

"Is it okay?" Yun Shuning raised his head, and there was suddenly some light in his dead eyes.

"If it's you, it should be possible." He Chen took two steps back and made a gesture of invitation.

Yun Shuning stood up and walked slowly but firmly to his side, step by step: "Thank you."

"This is what I should do." He closed his eyes, his voice more respectful than ever before.

After arriving at He Yan's room, he stood at the door and said softly: "Uncle doesn't like other people entering his private space."

"I'll wait for you here."

When Yun Shuning heard the sound of the door closing, the calmness on her face was instantly broken.

When she was reading the information just now, she felt uncomfortable in her stomach, and after walking this distance, the situation became more serious.

The food she had eaten in the past two days was very unhealthy, and she only drank a mouthful of soup at noon, so now her whole stomach seemed to be twisted.

She took out her cell phone and checked the time. It was around three in the afternoon.

She couldn't go out now, as that didn't fit her character. What would someone who loved He Yan deeply do when she came to his room?

She could only stay here now, even though it hurt like hell.

After just a short while, she was sweating all over from the pain.

She staggered to the bed and lay down on it.

The VIP ward of the hospital was filled with the smell of disinfectant. On the bed, a man was lying there with a pale face.

Yun Shuning opened his eyes and frowned slightly: "Where is this?"

"This is a hospital." He Chen stood beside her bed, with a reproachful look on his face, "Why didn't you call me when you were not feeling well?"

If he didn't notice anything wrong, did she want to stay in that room until she died, enduring the stomachache?

"My body?" Yun Shuning quickly got into the role and looked away without caring, "I feel fine."

"Acute gastritis." He Chen looked at her seriously and asked word by word, "Do you know what the consequences would be if you came a little later?"

"I understand. I'll pay attention next time." She said lightly, as if she didn't take his words to heart.

He felt as if he had punched cotton, which made him feel even more uncomfortable.

Yun Shuning turned around and saw his depressed look, and said softly: "Thank you."

She refused his help and sat up with difficulty. The sunlight shone through the window onto her profile. The words "strong" and "fragile" were paradoxically integrated into her.

"And." She turned her face to the side, and the sunlight cast a hazy circle of light on her hair. "I'm sorry."

"I have done a lot of wrong things during this period, and I am sorry."

He Chen was wearing a dark coat. He stared blankly at the person sitting on the pure white bed. At that moment, he suddenly felt that he and she seemed to be in two different worlds.

"It doesn't matter." He clenched his hands, not knowing what he wanted to grasp. "Only a few people can see those materials. I understand your doubts."

"He Chen."

This was the first time Yun Shuning called his name so seriously.

"I am here."

She turned her head and looked at him seriously: "After He Yan disappeared, do you really want him to come back?"

"I..." He Chen opened his mouth, looked at her understanding eyes, and ultimately did not utter the word "hope".

When his uncle first disappeared, he was really worried. He did everything he could, whether it was calling the police or investigating privately.

However, as time went by, as the person with the greatest hope of inheriting the He family, he received courtesy and respect that he had never received before.

The same is true for company matters. Although he has never used the He family's resources, other companies always make concessions for him.

Does he really want his uncle to come back now?

He seemed unable to give an answer.

"Okay, you don't have to say anything." Yun Shuning shook his head, "I have already sent my resignation letter to the company, from now on..."

"Let's just treat each other as strangers." Her tone was unusually gentle. "I understand your thoughts, but I can't forgive you."

After saying this, she turned her head and looked out the window.

This was a method that she had finally come up with and that suited her personality.

As a supporting actress, she absolutely cannot get entangled with the male protagonist. Now is the perfect time. In a few days, she will go out for fun in the name of relaxing.

Once she is far away from Kyoto, she won't have to walk on the edge of a knife every day like she does now.

He Chen looked at her and saw that she seemed to have given up everything and was indifferent to everything. Suddenly, he remembered the information about her.

She had been living under someone else's roof since she was a child, she had no relatives, and no particularly good friends. If she left the company, what if she couldn't get over it...

"Uncle doesn't like other people going to his room." He glanced at the man whose face was almost transparent and asked softly, "Miss Yun, are you willing to take some time out every week to help him tidy up his bedroom?"

This was the best solution he could think of.

Yun Shuning lowered her head, feeling a little depressed. She had finally managed to stay away from all the gossip, but was pulled back by the male protagonist's words.

But when she raised her head, her expression was completely opposite to what she was thinking. There was a hint of expectation in her indifferent eyes: "Really... is it okay?"

"Of course." He Chen heaved a sigh of relief when he saw her look, and blurted out a name that was a little abrupt, "Aunt."

Yun Shuning looked at him in surprise, the corners of her lips curled up uncontrollably, and the ice and snow around her seemed to melt away at once.

He Chen was still upset, but when he saw the smile that flashed across her face, he blinked and swallowed his apology.

That's fine.
