Chapter 215 Doing a Favor

"Now that the match is over, can we go out?"

Spur's face was full of anticipation.

"Of course... no."

As their eyes gradually brightened, Maggie smiled slightly and uttered rather cruel words.

"?"

The twins' expressions froze for a moment, seemingly not expecting Maggie to refuse them.

"Stay in the temple quietly. I have very little time and don't have time to deal with you. Speak your mind."

Maggie crossed her arms, giving them a "you'd better come clean" look. Although she now knew their target was the misprinted general history, its contents were too important for her to hand over.

If these two people still have some sincerity and state their purpose, as long as it's not the book itself, she might consider having a normal conversation.

If she could solve their problems, she wasn't such a bad person. If she gave them a token benefit, she might use her brain to help them. But if these two kept quiet, Maggie wouldn't bother wasting her time on them.

Anyway, leaving them hanging for a day or two is the same as leaving them hanging; it doesn't cost her any time.

There was absolutely no way they could get the book from her.

"Forehead......"

Sper and Sper looked at each other like mirror images, their expressions gradually shifting from hesitation to certainty.

Maggie raised an eyebrow. It seemed these two were planning to cooperate?

"Then let's go."

She turned around, left a message for the twins, and headed toward a confessional in the temple. If they wanted to talk, they needed to find a suitable place.

The confessional is for commoners or nobles to repent for their sins. Many rooms are empty, which is perfect for chatting.

Having learned her lesson, Maggie will no longer casually invite others into her room.

Even though those two guys had once barged into her room without permission.

Every time Maggie thinks about that embarrassing scene, she feels an urge to kill someone.

Maggie walked ahead, her mood worsening with each thought. Her expression, which had been fairly good, gradually turned gloomy, making the two people following behind her feel inexplicably cold.

They exchanged a glance and both saw the confusion in each other's eyes.

Maggie casually pushed open the door to a confessional, ignoring the reactions of the two people behind her. She pulled out two chairs and placed them in front of her, then pointed at them, indicating that they should sit down.

No one dares to mess with a woman who has a fierce aura, or rather, no one would be foolish enough to provoke her for no reason.

The twins were as well-behaved as two elementary school students, sitting in a row in front of Maggie, as if waiting for a teacher to scold them. At first glance, they looked a little weak, pitiful, and helpless.

"Purpose."

Maggie stood on the prayer platform and slightly raised her chin, gesturing for them to speak.

The current scene is bizarre and peculiar, whether it's the Holy Maiden of Light scolding a pair of twins like a sadist, a high-ranking magician interrogating two mages from above, or humans interrogating two gods.

Each one, taken individually, is astonishing.

"Actually, my brother and I wanted to say something, but you left us hanging for so long right from the start, so we didn't have a chance to say anything. It's not our fault."

Sper seemed to be intimidated by Maggie's imposing manner. He was initially a little unconvinced, but seeing Maggie's increasingly cold expression, he eventually turned his words into mutterings, which could not be heard unless you listened carefully.

Anyone who didn't know better would think Maggie had bullied him; he looked like a pushover.

In fact, Spurs was very unruly and extremely prone to anger, but all of this was contingent on the other party not being able to subdue him.

If he can successfully make Spur feel that 'this is a formidable opponent,' he will become much more restrained.

For example, his brother, and Maggie.

To put it bluntly, they are bullies who prey on the weak and fear the strong.

"Is it my fault?"

Maggie crossed her arms and asked in return.

"No...it's not your fault."

Spurr lowered his head in frustration.

"Now that things have come to this, there's nothing left to hide."

The older brother, Spitt, reached out and patted his younger brother's head with a comforting gesture. Although it was only a brief contact, he could sense that Maggie was not someone who could be easily fooled, and that deception and certain tricks would probably not work.

Indeed, the chances of a successful showdown are higher.

"That book sealed half of my and my brother's magic. Although we were able to leave the library because you took the book, the other half of the seal remains unresolved."

“We located your position based on the book. If you don’t return the power to us, we really can’t leave.”

Spier's tone was apologetic and sincere, which made him sound very convincing.

"So you don't want the book, right?"

Maggie needs to confirm this first.

"Yes, but our power resides in the books. If we could return that power to us, the books would be useless to us."

Spald paused for a moment, as if only then realizing that Maggie was actually interested in the book itself, but he quickly showed a relieved expression, probably glad that Maggie had different intentions than they did.

With no conflict of interest, things become much simpler.

"So you don't know how to break the seal either, right?"

Maggie glanced thoughtfully at Spud and Sber's faces, and couldn't help but marvel at how identical they looked; it was practically impossible to tell the difference.

Even so, she could tell at a glance; she was truly a genius.

"Yes."

Spald nodded helplessly, admitting that it wasn't difficult.

Maggie opened her mouth as if to say something, but then the little ghost's words suddenly flashed through her mind. The little ghost had said before that he could solve it.

"Forget it, stop thinking about stealing the book. I bet even if you get the book, you won't be able to break the seal on it for now."

She rubbed her throbbing temples and said softly.

For some reason, after the last prayer, she would have a headache from time to time, as if her spirit was being drained, even though she hadn't done anything wrong.

"I'll think of a way for you, just don't become thieves anymore."

Actually, we had made a promise to them beforehand to help them break the seal, but it became invalid because they escaped early.

In order to leave that book behind, it wouldn't matter if they took away the power within it.

It's a good opportunity to do someone a favor, since it's from the God of Fire; we might need it someday.

The main thing recorded in the book is quite important; it contains magic that can turn humans into elemental spirits.

Let's ask the little ghost later. If he can solve it, that would be best. If not... then let's find an excuse to put it off for now.

"oh oh."

Sper seemed surprised that things went so smoothly. While he was hesitating, his brother suddenly pressed his head down and made him thank Maggie.

"I'm sorry to have troubled you."

Maggie also witnessed Spitbol's ability to be flexible and adaptable, proving that he was on par with her.
