Bai Xi, from the past timeline, is unaware of what will happen in the future. She has already met the little jellyfish, but the situation is completely different from what she imagined.
She originally intended to find Herul, but unexpectedly, she encountered a small jellyfish first. However, it shouldn't be called a small jellyfish now, as it had grown much larger. Perhaps due to its tentacles, it had long hair and looked like a girl at first glance.
With a head of light blue hair, her jellyfish-transformed clothing rippled in the air like a skirt, and she was almost as tall as Bai Xi. Of course, her face was still indistinguishable between male and female.
If Bai Xi hadn't known that elemental spirits have no gender, she would have almost misunderstood at first glance.
"finally found you!"
The little jellyfish looked delighted and grabbed Bai Xi's hand, her voice full of excitement.
"You still remember me?"
Bai Xi was also happy when she was caught. If the little jellyfish still remembered her, it would save a lot of trouble.
"No, no, no, I found you by following the contract!"
The little jellyfish quickly shook its head, denying Bai Xi's guess.
"Oh, I see..."
Bai Xi was a little disappointed.
"But how did you end up with him...?"
The little jellyfish looked at Ulysses next to Baixi with a timid expression, as if it didn't like Ulysses very much.
"Um... for some reasons."
Bai Xi remained silent for a moment, unsure how to explain.
The vampires of this era haven't done anything bad to her, and they even helped her find the trail of the Goddess of the Dead. They promised to take her with them, but now that they've achieved their goal, they want to kick her out. That's a bit too much.
So they're still together now.
However, it seems that Ulysses is really quite annoying, even the elemental spirits don't have a good impression of him.
Ulysses naturally overheard Baixi and the little jellyfish's conversation. He raised an eyebrow, looked at Baixi, and his gaze seemed to say, 'Let me see what you're going to say.'
Bai Xi sensed the awkward atmosphere and silently looked away, still offering no explanation.
"Okay, you're more like a good person than I thought. Even though there's an annoying guy around, it's barely acceptable if the contract partner is you."
The little jellyfish's gaze shifted back and forth between Bai Xi and Ulysses, finally shrugging with a hint of helplessness in its voice.
His personality is more lively and cheerful than that of the future jellyfish; he is not as introverted.
Bai Xi smiled, naturally happy to have her character recognized. However, just as she was about to speak, she felt her heart skip two beats, followed by a violent tremor. Pain instantly spread throughout her body, causing her legs to buckle and her body to collapse to the ground.
This was the first time she had experienced pain since becoming a god.
It felt as if my whole heart was being squeezed by a hand, and blood was gushing out.
Bai Xi felt as if her nerves were being pulled by something. She vaguely heard many sounds in her ears, but she couldn't understand any of them. Her vision gradually became blurry, and finally she fainted.
Completely unprepared.
The little jellyfish and Ulysses watched helplessly as Bai Xi's body went limp and she nearly fell to the ground.
It was Ulysses who reacted quickly, wrapping his long arm around the person's waist to support him.
Bai Xi rested her head on Ulysses's shoulder, her eyes closed and unconscious, her brows furrowed, as if she were enduring something terrible, her mind trapped in the deepest nightmare.
Such a dangerous situation instantly put Little Jellyfish, Roy, Duruso, and Little Ghost on full alert. The creature in front of them was a vampire, a completely unstable element.
They also have a real name contract with Bai Xi, so if something happens to Bai Xi, they won't survive either.
Feeling the gaze of four pairs of eyes, Ulysses rubbed his temples in annoyance, then picked up Princess Baixi and spoke to the four elemental spirits.
"There's no need to be so wary of me. The fact that I'm a vampire further proves that I wouldn't covet the power of a god, because it's useless to me, and besides..."
His gaze fell on the cross around Bai Xi's neck, and he didn't finish his sentence.
The elemental spirits exchanged glances. They couldn't sense any malice from him towards Bai Xi, so they reluctantly lowered their guard, though they still followed closely behind Bai Xi.
Ulysses didn't care. He was eager to know how Baixi had obtained this power that belonged to him. He wouldn't harm Baixi until he figured that out.
More importantly, he didn't want to either.
The vampire's icy fingertips inexplicably touched Bai Xi's cheek; the warm touch belonged only to living beings, inexplicably captivating.
More captivating than the blood flowing beneath her neck.
Thus, Bai Xi was unable to continue her journey to find the elemental spirits, so Ulysses had no choice but to take her back to the palace that the believers had built for her and find a suitable room to place her there.
Having never encountered a god faint before, Ulysses sat on the edge of the bed, staring thoughtfully at Bai Xi's face.
Throughout the journey, he could vaguely sense Bai Xi's emotional changes, indicating that she was probably dreaming.
But do gods really dream?
He thought.
...
While still unconscious, Bai Xi vaguely felt as if she had regained control of her limbs. She subconsciously tried to get up, but when she opened her eyes, she found that Ulysses and the elemental spirits were no longer beside her.
She didn't know when she was transported to a hazy space.
The surrounding silence was eerily quiet. Bai Xi cautiously stood up and realized that her current state should be considered as a soul form.
This feeling is familiar; after all, I've been a ghost before.
However, the absence of that aura of death suggests that she is now a legitimate soul.
But the situation now seems even worse than during the Undead era.
She could no longer use her own power, nor could she use any magic. All the divine artifacts were no longer with her. She was now essentially just an ordinary soul, except that she still possessed the strength she had gained after becoming a god.
But this was also the most vulnerable moment for Baixi in a long time.
"Did the soul leave the body?"
Bai Xi looked around, but couldn't see anything clearly. The unknown danger made her very cautious, exploring outwards step by step to prevent anything terrible from suddenly jumping out.
She walked for a long time in the mist, when suddenly she seemed to see a blurry shadow ahead.
Bai Xi instantly became wary, but this was the only being she had found in a long time that seemed to be able to communicate. After hesitating for a moment, she still moved closer to the shadow.
She walked very slowly, and the shadow seemed unaware of her presence.
But the closer Bai Xi got, the more uneasy she felt, because the shape of the shadow looked like its feet were off the ground and its arms were outstretched, looking like... God hanging on a cross.
If one is bound...
Thinking of this, Bai Xi quickened her pace until she saw the person's face.
"El?!"
Bai Xi was shocked.
