Chapter 452 Wind-attribute Elemental Spirits

Mandel, who had been so timid, suddenly raised his head and stared straight at Maggie.

A strong wind swept through the entire conference room, causing the indoor temperature to drop below ten degrees Celsius. The door, which had been open, was suddenly slammed shut by the wind.

Mandel's features were originally unremarkable, but now his eyes were glowing with a pale green light, and his whole body exuded an unusual aura.

Maggie instinctively went on high alert, and the magic she had just finished preparing was already ready to be unleashed.

Gloria swiftly rushed to Maggie's side, assuming a protective stance. As the leader of the Holy Mage Order, she had a duty to protect Her Highness the Saintess's safety.

Mandel, caught in an unusual situation, remained silent, staring at Maggie with an inscrutable gaze. Coupled with the low temperature in the conference room, Maggie actually felt a chill.

What are you?

Maggie frowned, her voice turning somber.

Since the visitor was hostile, she couldn't possibly be polite.

"Haven't you already noticed something? How come you don't even know what I am?"

Mandel finally spoke, but the sarcasm in his words made Gloria very uncomfortable. Before Maggie could answer, she couldn't help but scold him sharply.

"No matter what race you are, Her Highness the Saintess is not someone you can offend!"

The magic flow in the room was clearly wind-elemental, leading most people to guess that Mandel might be some other race disguised as a human.

As for the purpose...

Since it seems to be targeting Her Highness the Saintess, Gloria certainly won't be friendly.

"Then you should first ask your Holy Maiden what terrible demon she released."

Mandel dismissed Maggie and Gloria's attitude with disdain. He stared at Maggie as if she were some kind of ancient sinner, his words sharp and sarcastic.

It seemed as if they wanted to use such methods to make Maggie admit her mistakes and repent.

Maggie merely raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. It seemed she had indeed found the right person; this was the mysterious person who looked after Philomona, though it appeared he harbored a great deal of resentment towards her.

That's right. She actually broke the seal that she had guarded for so long. Anyone would be so angry that they would want to explode.

However, this is not a reason for his ill intentions.

"Her Highness would never do such a thing."

Gloria had seen Maggie's kind and gentle nature and didn't believe a word Mandel said, immediately refuting him sternly.

When these words reached Maggie's ears, she felt a subtle sense of guilt.

It seems this group leader has a very strong bias towards her; he's willing to defend her reputation without even verifying her identity.

Unfortunately, she actually did it.

Maggie suddenly felt an urge to facepalm.

Of course, all of this was just in her mind; on the surface, she remained normal and did not show any abnormality.

"So? You want to get revenge on me?"

Maggie didn't answer his question directly, but instead asked him a nonchalant question in return.

Her ambiguous statements make it difficult for others to guess her true thoughts.

Perhaps because of her overly nonchalant attitude, as if she were completely unaware of the seriousness of the problem, Mandel, who had been relatively calm, suddenly became furious after she said those words.

The wind ripped everything from the curtains to the papers on the table, and even scratched the chair.

Maggie and Gloria even had to set up a defensive barrier to prevent themselves from getting hurt.

Eve, who was fast asleep, was also enveloped in the defensive barrier and had no idea what was happening outside. She was sleeping soundly at the moment.

"Aaaaaah!!!! Vicious and despicable humans!"

Seeing this, Mandel went completely berserk. He could barely maintain his human form, and his entire body glowed with a pale green light, as if he was about to transform at any moment.

Gloria became extremely focused, fearing that some monster might appear and threaten Her Highness's life.

Unexpectedly, a pale green light flashed, and Mandel's human form completely vanished before her eyes, without a trace, without warning, and without a mark.

But the hurricane in the room showed no signs of abating; it remained as violent as ever, as if filled with resentment and anger.

Gloria's expression went blank for a moment, as if she didn't know what had just happened. Only Maggie frowned and stared at Mandel's position, giving Gloria an order.

"Take Eve out of the meeting room."

Because she could see that where Mandel was, a small bird emitting a pale green light was flying around, with a breeze flowing around it.

She never expected that Mandel was actually an elemental spirit disguised as a human.

"Ah? But Your Highness..."

Gloria was stunned after hearing the whole thing; she never expected Maggie to give such an order.

"No buts, take her out."

Maggie spoke again without hesitation. This matter was a grudge between her and the elemental spirits, and whether it was resolved or not, it should be her responsibility to handle it, without involving others.

"Okay...alright, Your Highness, please be careful."

Gloria had no choice but to obey Maggie's command, which left no room for argument.

Braving the intense pressure of the hurricane, he led Eve toward the door of the conference room.

"Let them go."

Then Maggie's voice came from behind.

After a while, the previously closed conference room door suddenly opened in front of Gloria without warning, as if an unknown entity was talking to Her Highness the Saintess.

Before leaving, Gloria glanced back into the conference room.

All that could be seen inside were fluttering scraps of paper, torn pieces of cloth, and Her Highness the Saintess with a defensive barrier in place; nothing else.

The next second, the conference room door slammed shut again.

This also completely cut off Gloria's view.

There was nothing she could do but leave with her people.

In the conference room, Maggie and the pale green, even somewhat miniature bird were facing off. She truly had no idea that Mandel was actually an elemental spirit.

Moreover, ordinary elemental spirits cannot cast magic; they can only cooperate with humans through contracts.

This being not only has a human body and can communicate with humans, but can also cast magic and use such a powerful flow of magic that even she, a low-level mage, has a hard time resisting it.

This is still the result even though the bird most likely didn't use its full strength.

It probably only wants to suppress her now, not kill her.

Maggie thought for a moment before speaking carefully to the furious pale green bird.

“I’m sorry for letting Philomona go, but she’s not a terrible demon, and she didn’t cause any serious consequences.”

Her attitude was fairly polite, but the pale green bird was only furious. After hearing this, it became even angrier and didn't even bother to acknowledge Maggie.

At that time, the wind speed in the room had reached the level of a hurricane, and Maggie felt that her defensive barrier was about to break down.
