Chapter 182 The Black Swan That Fell From the Sky

The unclear words made Coron instinctively want to look at Maggie, but with victory so close and the paladin within reach, he certainly wouldn't give up.

"Harlen, retreat."

Maggie's voice was very soft, just enough for Harlan to hear. Even though there was a chance that retreating from his current position would result in him being hit in a weak spot, Harlan still chose to obey Maggie's command, just like every time before.

The next second, a ball of light mixed with different magical powers shot out from behind and crashed straight into Kron.

Coron didn't even have time to react, his attention was entirely focused on Harlan, and by the time he realized something was wrong, the magic bomb had already exploded on him.

In an instant, it exploded brilliantly like fireworks in the dark alleys of the eastern suburbs.

Perkin, who was speeding towards Maggie in the distance, suddenly stopped on the roof. He stared at the fireworks illuminating his face in the distance, his expression slightly stunned, and then slowed down.

The snake's senses were very sharp. The air was filled with Maggie's magical aura, and his heart calmed down, no longer anxious.

The violent magic felt like a thousand tiny knives slashing fiercely across Kron's body. Maggie didn't expect to kill him outright, but the dazzling colors before her eyes still made her momentarily dazed.

She couldn't help but think how beautiful it would be if all seven magical powers were mixed together.

When the smoke and dust from the magic explosion dissipated, Kron had turned into a bloody, mangled unidentified object, melting and stuck to the ground, his fate unknown.

"Your Highness's surprises are truly endless."

Harlan watched the entire explosion unfold, then glanced at Maggie, who calmly erected a defensive barrier, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.

"It wasn't exactly a surprise, it was just something I was prepared for."

Maggie remained noncommittal. In fact, she had already stored a considerable amount of magic power in her staff. Of course, the magic power she had collected in that short time would not have been enough to blow a vampire viscount up like this.

Preparing self-defense weapons in advance is the wise choice.

If you always rely on others for protection, an accident will happen sooner or later. The most reliable person is always yourself.

“He’s not dead yet. Dead vampires will quickly turn black. Call the paladin and take this vampire back.”

Maggie's indifferent attitude made it seem as if she were facing an object, rather than a hideous, terrifying blood-red humanoid figure.

"There are a few more things I'd like to know."

She added.

"Yes, Your Highness."

Harun quietly pressed down on the sacred ring that was about to activate, and agreed to Maggie's request.

The Holy Ring is a special enchanted weapon that allows you to fight opponents of higher levels for a short period of time, but it will cause muscle soreness and an inability to use magic for the next month as a side effect.

Every paladin has their own holy ring, but Harun's is special. If he uses it, he can even fight two levels higher, but the side effects are also doubled.

"Your Highness, I'm back."

Perkin leaped out of the shadows of the wall and landed in front of Maggie. His snake eyes appeared even more eerie green in the moonlight, and Maggie might have been startled if she hadn't seen them often.

"How's it going over there?"

Maggie's heart skipped a beat, and her gaze swept over Kron, who was being dragged away by Harlan's orders. She suddenly remembered Kron's reaction when she mentioned their companions earlier.

If that's the case, the other vampire is probably also extremely powerful.

Will Blood Hunters and Paladins suffer a setback?

Maggie was a little worried.

"...have no idea."

Perkin rushed back to find Maggie after reporting the news, unaware of what happened next. After a moment of silence, he could only manage to utter three words with difficulty.

"Never mind, let's go over there first."

Maggie frowned slightly, left Harlan with only one sentence, and then turned and led Perkin away from the alley, heading towards the main street. At the end of the main street in the eastern suburbs was the place Perkin had just returned from.

Before Harlan could even speak, Perkin and his men vanished without a trace, leaving Harlan without even a glimpse of their backs.

Harlan stood there, quietly staring in the direction Maggie had left, his fingers unconsciously twirling.

He thought that perhaps wearing white gloves was not the right thing to do today.

"Commander? What's wrong?"

The paladin's call brought Harlan back to his senses. He turned his head and lowered his eyes for a moment, but in less than half a second, he returned to his perfect and gentle state as the leader of the paladin order.

"fine."

He gave a standard, gentle smile.

...

Maggie was completely unaware that this was the third time she had abandoned Harlan, preoccupied with whether the other vampire had caused serious casualties to the paladins and blood hunters.

Her sixth sense was always accurate, and her intuition told her that the vampire Perkin was talking about was not an easy opponent.

"Female vampire, do you remember exactly what she looked like?"

Maggie frowned slightly and suddenly asked a question on the way.

Perkin seemed unsure how to describe it, and after a long silence, he finally uttered three words expressionlessly.

"dislike."

Maggie nearly stumbled, and in the midst of her busy schedule, she glanced back at Platinum, her head full of question marks.

Is this the important point?!

She didn't ask him if he liked it or not.

"You... I just want you to describe her appearance, clothing, characteristics, and so on."

Maggie sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"...."

Upon hearing Maggie's explanation, Perkin became even more silent. After a few dozen seconds, his perpetually expressionless face actually furrowed, as if he found the question difficult to answer.

"never mind."

Maggie turned her head away abruptly, choosing to abandon this futile communication. Perkin was upset, and she was also upset waiting.

Sure enough, finding him a teacher was an urgent matter.

She shouldn't have let her guard down just because Perkin's voice had recovered, assuming he would be able to speak properly in the future.

It's all an illusion.

Maggie's mind was in complete turmoil, torn between Perkin and vampires; she was practically on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Fortunately, the two arrived at their destination quickly, and when they looked up, Maggie's pupils suddenly contracted.

Although I had suspected that it might be a very strong vampire, I never expected that it would be Lilia who came.

The woman, dressed in a dark gothic dress, stood atop the tallest building in the eastern suburbs. Her movements, dodging bullets and magic, were incredibly graceful, like a bird. However, in Maggie's eyes, she looked more like a bat than a bird.

Suddenly, Lilia seemed to have noticed Maggie's presence as well. She paused in mid-air and jumped down from the top of the tower, heading straight for Maggie's location.

Her parasol whistled in the air, and her figure gradually grew larger in Maggie's eyes.

A familiar scene unfolded in the royal palace of the Kingdom of Saint Na, with blood lines surrounding Maggie, leaving her no room to dodge.

"Long time no see, Holy Maiden. Do you remember who I am?"

Lilia's smile was beautiful, like a black swan that had just descended.
