The air was silent for a few seconds. El's anger was on the verge of exploding. He was one of the strongest elemental spirits, and now with the blessing of the scales, he was equivalent to an archangel at his peak. How could he allow someone to provoke him to his face, especially someone to steal his wife right in front of him?
He could hardly suppress the urge to beat up 'Rosate'. He thought it and did it. But just as the white light under his hand lit up, Bai Xi grabbed his arm with lightning speed.
"etc!"
Bai Xi almost let out a sharp crack. If El, with her fiery temper, were to be killed by 'Rosette,' her plan would be over.
She must complete the task assigned by the world consciousness in order to have any chance of turning the tables.
This is why she is enduring humiliation and obediently following orders; if she were to be ruined by El, things would become much more complicated.
"You! You're stopping me!"
El looked at Bai Xi in disbelief, a hurt flashing across her eyes, her gaze as if she were looking at a husband who was protecting his mistress, filled with despair and resentment.
"No, no, it's work. He still has to finish his work, and that's very important to me!"
Bai Xi sighed, walking up to El and completely blocking 'Rosette' from view, as if afraid that El would kill the mermaid if she wasn't careful.
El's chest heaved violently twice, the words Bai Xi had said when she left flashed through his mind, and he looked at the deep angel temple, clenching his fists.
"Okay, I won't touch him, but you're not allowed to like him."
His tone was somewhat aggrieved and pitiful, so Bai Xi readily agreed in order to avoid causing any further trouble.
"Of course, of course."
Bai Xi nodded repeatedly, like a chick pecking at rice. She hadn't planned on dating again anyway; El was just an accident.
What she didn't see was that Rosette, hiding behind her, just curled her lip in disdain after hearing her conversation with El, completely ignoring it and not taking it to heart.
He was quite confident in his charm. The reason the Savior had agreed to the angel's request was simply because they hadn't spent enough time together. Time would tell, and he didn't believe he couldn't seduce the Savior.
That's right, Rosette wasn't saddened by Bai Xi's words at all. Instead, she was planning how to lure Bai Xi into a trap and slap El in the face.
With the matter settled, Bai Xi breathed a sigh of relief.
She was originally going to set off immediately, but because El and Rosette had a conflict, she had no choice but to stay for a while. She was even considering whether to take El with her on her next trip.
...
Bai Xi didn't want to follow the commands of the world's consciousness, so she rested on the floating island for a while and chatted with the people on the island.
"As expected of a spirit, its construction speed is incredibly fast."
Bai Xi had been frantically searching for new manpower, and this time, he stayed temporarily, only to find that 'Arunta's' efficiency was simply astonishing.
“My savior, this is just a simple tactic.”
'Arunta' wasn't particularly proud. Many desert spirits have similar abilities, but he was slightly more outstanding, which is why he was chosen by the Savior.
"No, no, no, I can't learn this."
Bai Xi readily admitted that although magic seemed omnipotent, ordinary people definitely couldn't accomplish this kind of project, especially someone like her who had no aesthetic sense, hadn't studied it, and wasn't sensitive to the flow of sand. Even if she could learn it, she wouldn't be as efficient as 'Arunta'.
The Temple of Angels is currently still a light yellow sand color, unlike the pure white of the future mixed with gold leaf. It looks a bit plain, but Bai Xi already has its image in mind, and even hates it a little.
Thinking about things that bothered her, Bai Xi simply closed her eyes and refused to look anymore.
But then a reminder from the world consciousness suddenly came to mind.
'The Temple of Angels requires the most powerful magical barrier, and currently the strongest barrier masters are a pair of fire spirit twins.'
Bai Xi wanted to ignore the sound, but it was so noisy that the World Consciousness would ring out every day as long as she didn't do anything, which was extremely annoying.
"You are the most annoying world consciousness I have ever seen."
She responded to the world consciousness in her mind with a forced smile.
'You have too many distracting thoughts; I can't discern your true intentions right now. If I don't order the task to be completed quickly, you will definitely try to rebel against me.'
The world consciousness was excessively frank, even revealing Bai Xi's little thoughts clearly.
During her temporary rest, Bai Xi did not completely rest. She was practicing a skill that allowed her to constantly recall all sorts of things, even dozens or hundreds of things, in her mind. With enough thoughts and enough chaos, she could prevent the world's consciousness from discerning her true thoughts.
This has led to her thinking being extremely inefficient; the things she really wants to do are hidden in a bunch of distracting thoughts, which makes her feel bad.
However, making the world consciousness uncomfortable and concealing one's true purpose makes it all worthwhile.
But now it seems that the world consciousness has realized part of her intentions and is trying to urge her to get back to work. If there are things to do, she will not have time to pay attention to this little thing, thus forcing her to reduce her thoughts, and the world consciousness will be able to monitor her better.
Unfortunately, Bai Xi has no intention of giving up on her battle of wits and courage against the world's consciousness.
"You're really smart."
Bai Xi was generous with her praise, especially in front of a world consciousness, but she made no attempt to hide the sarcasm and irony within it.
This is something that should be taken for granted, but for her to say it like that sounds disgusting.
'Human techniques are useless against me. Go find a barrier master tomorrow, or I will deem you to have violated the contract.'
The voice of the World Consciousness remained as cold as ever, but for some reason, Bai Xi detected a hint of anger and embarrassment in it.
The voice in her mind disappeared, and Bai Xi came back to her senses. In her field of vision was 'Arunta's' slightly worried expression, and his hand that was touching her forehead. After noticing her gaze, he immediately blushed and pulled it back.
"Savior...are you alright?"
'Arunta' noticed that Bai Xi suddenly stopped talking and didn't respond to anything he said to the Savior. He seemed to be lost in thought, so he did something inappropriate and carefully touched the Savior.
"I'm fine, but I'm leaving tomorrow."
Bai Xi rubbed her throbbing temples, feeling exhausted and annoyed by the relentless, almost agonizing, actions of the world's consciousness.
"Hmm? Didn't the angel say..."
Arunta was taken aback, a hint of disappointment flashing in her eyes, but she didn't dare to ask any more questions, and swallowed her words halfway through.
"In case of any emergency, remember to keep an eye on Rosette and make sure she doesn't get into a conflict with El."
Bai Xi subconsciously gave the order.
