Maggie stood beneath the Elven Mother Tree, beside Nesser, awaiting the start of the coming-of-age ceremony.
She could sense the mix of excitement and nervousness in Nesser. Any intelligent being would experience similar emotions when facing the unknown, and Maggie understood.
She moved her fingers, hesitated for a moment in the air, and then gently stroked Nesser's head.
Don't be afraid; becoming an adult should be a happy thing.
Although she was not good at speaking right now, the reassuring meaning in her actions could still be conveyed to Nesser.
Perhaps sensing Maggie's actions, the worry that had been subtly surrounding Nesser vanished in an instant, like a child receiving encouragement from their parents, whose mood instantly improved.
He tightened his grip on Maggie's sleeve, then looked up at her, revealing his big little face, as adorable and heartwarming as ever.
Other elves also caught a glimpse of Maggie and Nesser's interaction out of the corner of their eyes. Several of them clearly showed disdain and disgust, and even a hint of jealousy.
This is not surprising, as the relationship between elves and humans is not very good, and can only be described as neutral. In addition, some humans poach elves as slaves, so some radical elves are full of hostility towards humans.
Maggie has occasionally received similar looks these days, but she doesn't care too much about them; it's within her understanding.
She usually adheres to the principle of "I will not offend others unless they offend me." In addition, this is someone else's territory, so as long as they don't come in front of her, she can completely ignore any slightly strange looks.
On the other hand, Nesser's self-centeredness and lack of intimacy with the elves of the Green Forest only fueled further discontent.
As an elf, Nesser clearly possesses outstanding talent and superior appearance, yet he gets so close to humans, and their relationship is so good that quite a few elves disapprove of it.
In particular, some people who want to befriend Nesser but are ignored by him will have extremely intense emotional backlash.
Unfortunately, Nesser was completely focused on Maggie, and his eyes were always on her. He didn't care about anything else, so he didn't clearly feel the bullying and exclusion.
Maggie's gaze swept over the elves who clearly had a problem with her, taking in their reactions and memorizing them all.
It's not that I want to retaliate, but I'm mainly worried that someone might cause trouble.
As a member of a different race, if anything were to happen to her in front of the Elven Mother Tree, the most important foundation of the Elven race, things would become very troublesome.
Maggie isn't stupid. She's the only human who came up here, so Nesser must have done something to get her to do it, or even begged for it. She absolutely has to make sure Nesser's coming-of-age ceremony goes smoothly.
Soon, the final step of the coming-of-age ceremony arrived. Nesser left her side and, together with all the elves who were about to come of age, walked toward the trunk of the Elf Mother Tree. When they got very close, each of them floated up.
The green bubbles that had been circling the Fairy Mother Tree descended one after another, enveloping the floating fairies. The pale green liquid submerged them, making them invisible.
Maggie watched this scene with curiosity, feeling very strange. Although she had learned all kinds of magic and seen all kinds of races since she transmigrated, the scene in front of her was still among the top of her 'most shocking scenes'.
She sighed inwardly.
Suddenly, the Elf Mother Tree burst forth with a huge, dazzling green light, almost illuminating the entire Green Wilderness Forest. In just an instant, even Maggie was swallowed up by the green light and could no longer be seen.
Not to mention the underage elves who were already enveloped in green bubbles, they were completely covered by the light, and not a trace could be seen.
All the elves were immediately stunned.
This is something that has never happened before in any previous coming-of-age ceremony.
The only variable this time was Maggie's arrival, which threw all the elven elders into a panic.
Even the elder who had agreed to Nesser's request was utterly dejected. His heart sank, and he anxiously and frequently looked towards the spot where Maggie had been standing, but all he could see was green light.
The reason he agreed to Nesser's request was because there were records of humans climbing the elven altar in the Green Wilderness Forest. Although the records were vague and incomplete, and it was unknown which human it was or what their name was, it was almost like unofficial history.
But that was a legendary oracle from the forest god, so it was highly credible.
Therefore, the elder slapped his thigh and decided to make a deal with Nesser by allowing Maggie to ascend the elven altar, so that Nesser would willingly become the altar's guardian.
No one expected such an unusual scene to occur.
They are now on the elven altar, such an important place, and no one dares to act rashly. If they use magic recklessly and cause any impact on the elven mother tree, no one can bear the responsibility.
But if they are left to fend for themselves, no one can guarantee what will happen to the elves who were inexplicably swallowed by the Elf Mother Tree, or whether they will be killed by Maggie.
Instantly, all the elven elders, including the elven chieftain, were caught in a dilemma.
Outside, everyone was as anxious as ants on a hot pan, while the sole source of the problem at the center of the attention was floating in mid-air, completely bewildered.
To be precise, Maggie felt as if she were in a separate space, surrounded by green veins, from which flowed a vibrant energy. Just feeling it was very comfortable, like being bathed in a spring breeze.
Like the morning dew and the morning air, it exudes a surging vitality.
Maggie had no idea what had just happened. All she knew was that she had been staring at the bubble that enveloped Nesser, wondering what Nesser would look like when he came down.
Will it turn into a terrifying double-door refrigerator?
Before she knew it, it was as if she had traveled through time again, and she didn't even know if she was in the Green Forest anymore.
Maggie strongly suspected that she might have been swept away by some mysterious spatial rift.
Will she even survive...?
Just as Maggie was lost in thought, contemplating life and death, those things around her that resembled green blood vessels or veins suddenly connected to her mind out of thin air.
It was as if she had become part of the leaf veins, and the life force began to flow through her entire body, passing through her body and then flowing out again.
It's very comfortable.
It felt like I was back in my mother's arms.
This is how Maggie feels right now.
Maggie was still confused. She moved her hands and feet and tried to mobilize the magic power in her body, but she couldn't use any magic power now, perhaps because the life force occupied her magic channels.
