Chapter 336 Forbidden Spells Without Chanting

Huiya has been torn these past few days. She doesn't dare to see Her Highness the Saintess, worried that she will cause her trouble, but she really wants to get close to Her Highness the Saintess.

She was grateful to the Holy Maiden for taking her away from the Green Forest and for arranging a place for her in the temple. However, what she wanted even more was to be able to help the Holy Maiden.

But ever since she arrived at the temple, she had only seen Her Highness the Saintess from afar when the angels descended.

After that, the atmosphere in the temple became tense. Perhaps it was because of the appearance of the angels, but she was somewhat worried about Her Highness the Saintess.

She was an elf who grew up in the Green Forest. She didn't understand or sense human intrigues very well, only that the undercurrents were surging faster and faster, making it suffocating.

An uneasy feeling permeated the sky above the temple.

She looked up at the sky and suddenly heard the voices of the nuns passing by.

"I heard that Her Highness the Holy Maiden was summoned by His Holiness the Pope again, and this time it seems that she also took away the sacred artifacts."

"It's normal, isn't it? Her Highness is so outstanding, it's no surprise that His Holiness the Pope would favor her. Isn't this something that was expected?"

"Hey, but something just feels off."

As the voices of the two nuns faded into the distance, the gloom in Huiya's heart grew heavier, and she felt that what she had just heard was not good news.

She hurried toward Maggie's room, disregarding her shyness, only wanting to see Her Highness the Saintess as soon as possible and say something to her.

Huiya knocked on the door, and after a few anxious seconds of waiting, she finally saw the Saintess she had been longing for.

Maggie was a little surprised when Huiya suddenly came to find her.

However, seeing the elven girl's obviously uneasy expression, she still waved her in.

"What's wrong? Are you having trouble adjusting to life in the temple?"

Maggie, with the attitude that she had to take responsibility for the person she was taking away from their hometown, was quite kind and approachable to Huiya.

Of course, this is on the premise that Huiya is indeed a good kid.

"No...no, I'm just a little worried about you."

Huiya sat opposite Maggie with his head down, his fingers fidgeting. He dared not look at Maggie's face, nor even at the teacup on the table.

"Hmm? What are you worried about me for?"

Maggie asked unexpectedly.

"Are there bad people in the temple targeting you?"

Huiya struggled with his conscience before finally saying those words, but he was very careful, afraid of saying the wrong thing.

Why would you think that?

Maggie paused for a moment, then asked again as if nothing had happened.

The truth is that someone is indeed targeting her, but on the surface, her situation in the temple seems to be quite good. No one shows her the slightest disrespect, including High Priest Arlin.

She hadn't revealed any of her true situation to Huiya, so why would she suddenly ask such a question?

"No...it's nothing, I just have this vague feeling, I'm not sure, maybe I'm guessing wrong."

Perhaps it was Maggie's overly calm demeanor that made Huiya increasingly uncertain about her own guesses. Her voice grew softer and softer, and she seemed to lack self-confidence, lowering her head further and further.

Maggie couldn't help but chuckle. She didn't seem that scary, so why was Huiya always so shy and afraid to speak when she was around her?

What truly surprised Maggie was how sharp Huiya's intuition was. To be able to sense things so accurately without any evidence or clues was quite a skill.

"If so, what would you do?"

Maggie suddenly felt like teasing this cute elf girl. Actually, she must be very brave, otherwise she wouldn't dare to run out alone to find someone who had already gone far away.

If we can't find it, we might end up in the belly of a monster.

"I! I'll help you!"

Upon hearing Maggie's words, Huiya abruptly raised his head, his eyes filled with determination, and his voice was much louder than before.

Maggie was startled, but after seeing Huiya's bright eyes, her smile deepened.

She's kind of cute.

“I’m glad you have such good intentions, but not now. I’ll come to you if there’s anything you can help with.”

Maggie winked at her.

"Okay! Okay!"

After receiving a positive answer, Huiya was a little excited.

After seeing Huiya off, Maggie returned to her room, where the holy relics she had just received from the Pope were displayed.

That sacred object that Eve once tried to steal, used to communicate with the God of Light.

Because of her, Maggie was able to successfully cast the forbidden spell without dying.

"Seriously, they've gone to great lengths..."

Her gaze swept over the sacred object, and she collapsed weakly onto the bed, muttering to herself.

Maggie went to great lengths to convince the Pope, using her silver tongue to finally get her hands on the item.

Thanks to the treasures left behind by the God of Light, her life was saved.

Maggie muttered to herself.

However, after all this, when the God of Light returns to his divine position, he might be so angry he'd laugh, and might even hunt her down...

Hopefully, he'll still remember some of his human form's memories by then, since she and Harun are now allies.

"The ritual to summon the God of Light...only two days remain."

Indeed, the Pope's reason for seeking out Maggie this time was that the number of demon followers was too large, and he needed divine guidance on how to take the next step to curb the expansion of demons.

A reason that sounds so vague and broad as to be absurd.

Although Maggie had explicitly emphasized last time that people should not seek out the Lord unless necessary, the Pope was still eager to do so.

After confirming that Maggie was harmless and had absolutely no ulterior motives, his wolfish ambitions could no longer be concealed.

Having endured so much to live through so many years, he would absolutely not give up the opportunity to become a god and live forever.

Maggie was also very curious about one thing: does the current Pope really believe in the God of Light?

Maggie deliberately revealed the news that the God of Light was seriously injured in order to make the Pope interested in divinity, and as it turned out, he did indeed fall for it.

Does that mean he is a believer in a deity?

It sounds ironic that a believer would want to seize the divine status of their own god, and it's not a thought a believer should have.

However, he couldn't see Roy and the little ghost, which relieved Maggie.

When casting a forbidden spell, Roy needs to be by her side to assist her in casting the spell without chanting. If the Pope sees this, it will become an accident.

Just as Maggie said she was going to practice the incantation-free casting of cosmic-level magic, Roy and the little ghost very enthusiastically leaned close to her forehead, trying to feel if she was sick.

After confirming that Maggie wasn't joking, they very unusually unanimously agreed that Maggie had really gone mad.
