The Sacred Fruit of the Forest was brought back by Nesser. Two days have passed since that day, and Maggie has not left the house. No one knows what she is doing cooped up inside, but no one dares to disturb her or provoke her.
When Maggie left that day, she was so angry that she was practically tangible. No one would dare to provoke Maggie at that moment unless they wanted to be sentenced to death.
However, the fact that he was delivering fruit might make Maggie a little happier, which is why he mustered up the courage to approach her.
Nesser hesitated for a long time in front of Maggie's treehouse before finally deciding to go forward.
He knocked cautiously on Maggie's door, but after a long while there was no sound from inside the treehouse. Just as Nesser was about to leave in disappointment, the door in front of him opened.
Nesser's eyes lit up, and he carefully scanned Maggie, as if afraid that she might be uncomfortable somewhere.
Only then did he dare to look into Maggie's eyes, afraid of seeing her dislike for him. He had finally regained Maggie's approval, and if, because of their shared race, Maggie were to develop a dislike for him again, Nesser would be devastated.
"What's wrong?"
Maggie looked perfectly normal, and her voice was relaxed; it was almost unbelievably normal.
Nesser panicked a little, but he only had one choice: to tremble as he handed the Forest Spirit Fruit to Maggie, his voice filled with flattery.
"This is my older sister's."
Maggie looked down at the fruit in Nesser's hand and suddenly sighed helplessly.
"Fine, give it to me."
She reached out and took the fruit from Nesser's hand. She still looked strangely normal. Nesser looked at her face tentatively for a while before carefully speaking.
"Well, the newly appointed clan leader has rearranged the seats. I am now in the second seat, and my sister is in the first seat."
Maggie wasn't surprised by the result, but she didn't expect them to be so efficient. She had only been secluded for two days, and a new clan leader had already taken office.
"The elders have all been replaced. Sister, can you calm down now that you've heard this?"
Hearing Nesser's pitiful voice, Maggie was taken aback at first, then showed a look of both laughter and tears.
"I'm not angry anymore."
I really don't know what gave Nesser the illusion that she was still angry.
"But...didn't my sister lock herself up for two days?"
Nesser pursed his lips, as if he didn't believe Maggie's words and felt that Maggie was comforting him.
"Huh? No! I was just practicing magic in the treehouse."
Maggie rubbed her temples. Actually, practicing magic was partly to distract herself, and what happened that day had still affected her somewhat.
Lying in bed, even if I don't want to think about it, it will still pop up from the nooks and crannies of my memory, with various images flashing by.
Maggie couldn't understand why, since she had no trauma or sadness about it, it was so unforgettable.
She had experienced far worse things before, but none of them had this effect.
So Maggie decided to stick with the little jellyfish and study water magic day and night.
And so, she practiced for two days straight. By the time she looked up again, a long time had passed, and Nesser just happened to knock on the door at that moment.
Ultimately, her innate talent was acquired halfway through her life, and her water magic was still far too weak compared to light and dark magic.
Although she really wanted to learn wood magic, it was really inconvenient in the Green Forest, and without elemental spirits to guide her, her learning efficiency would be too low.
Maggie then gave up for the time being.
"ah?"
Nesser was shocked. He had imagined all sorts of scenarios for Maggie in the room, whether she wanted to kill the entire Elf race or wanted to take revenge in secret.
But to everyone's surprise, Maggie actually knew how to practice magic.
"Hmm, don't overthink it."
Maggie nodded seriously, which reassured Nesser.
But Nesser was still a little hesitant. He looked at the Forest Spirit Sacred Fruit, then at Maggie, and asked again.
"Then why did you sigh after seeing the fruit, sister?"
Maggie was taken aback and didn't know how to answer the question for a moment.
The main reason was that after she learned about the functions of the Forest Spirit Sacred Fruit, she felt that it was no longer of any use to her.
Perhaps... it will have a greater affinity for wood-based elements?
Longevity doesn't seem to be of much use to her. If she can't become a god in her lifetime, then she'll only have one path: death. Becoming a god means she doesn't have to worry about lifespan, and she doesn't have to worry about it even after she dies.
So no matter how you look at it, it's a complete waste of time and energy.
"Hmm... I just feel like I won't use it much."
Maggie answered hesitantly.
"Oh...is that so..."
Nesser sensed that Maggie wasn't telling the truth, and his voice betrayed his disappointment. If he had ears, they would have drooped down, and he looked utterly aggrieved.
Maggie had no choice but to pat his head and gently comfort him, just like she always did.
Lifespan is meaningless to me anyway; I'm going to die eventually, and I have no chance of surviving except by becoming a god.
She muttered to herself, and Nesser's hand, hidden under her sleeve, suddenly clenched tightly.
"Actually, if I hadn't participated in the competition, Nesser should have been in first place. So why don't we give this fruit to Nesser?"
Maggie knew that Nesser was worried about her, and considering what had happened during this time, she simply returned the Forest Spirit Fruit to Nesser as compensation.
Nesser hung his head blankly and agreed in a muffled voice, not rejecting Maggie's good intentions.
"Okay, I'll do whatever my sister says."
Maggie smiled gently. In fact, during the time she had spent with Nesser since he came of age, she could feel that Nesser hadn't grown up much. Many of his reactions were still the same as when he was a child, just as adorable.
However, with his handsome, elfin face that exudes a cool and aloof aura, the incongruity is rather strong.
Fortunately, Maggie has gotten used to it now.
“I’m sorry, Nesser. You asked me before if I wanted to stay here, and I felt like you really wanted me to stay longer, but now... I think I’ll leave in the next couple of days.”
As soon as Maggie finished speaking, Nesser frantically waved his hands.
“If my sister wanted to stay here now, I would object a hundred times. I wish she would leave tomorrow. This place is just too awful and makes her so unhappy.”
Nesser was even more bothered by the High Priest's affair than Maggie was, and his resistant little expression amused Maggie.
"I know you care about me, sweetie."
She habitually adopted her old attitude, but suddenly heard a rustling sound behind her. Turning around, she saw Perkin emerge from the shadows and stand not far away.
“Master, Pullman is completely dead, even his spirit has been wiped out.”
His voice was calm, as if he were speaking in a businesslike manner, only Nesser watched him grind his back teeth.
This snake did it on purpose.
