Chapter 88 Actually, she's not a very violent person.

Therefore, Maggie and Eve are somewhat similar in that they are both unfortunate cannon fodder who introduce the plot before the start of a new volume.

The original owner was gentle and kind, but Eve... should be considered an arrogant, foolish, love-struck person.

The group stopped to rest, and Maggie had just stepped off the carriage when a paladin ran up to her, sweating profusely and looking very troubled.

"Your Highness, Princess Eve has been insisting on seeing you alone."

Maggie sighed inwardly. Sure enough, Eve couldn't stay still for a moment.

"Okay, I'll go see her. You don't need to rush."

Maggie nodded to him, her golden, glassy eyes filled with a hint of apology.

"Your Highness, you flatter us. It was our negligence that caused you trouble."

The paladin was flattered and hurriedly waved his hand, afraid that Maggie would blame herself.

"Thank you for your hard work."

Maggie smiled helplessly, her gaze falling on the carriage behind hers. In terms of scale, Princess Eve's carriage was even more luxurious.

However, Her Highness's carriage carries the temple's high-level mark, so it is rarely attacked unless it is opposed to the Temple of Light.

"I'm going to see her."

After Maggie finished speaking, she turned and walked towards the carriage where Eve was. The expression on her face gradually disappeared, and the moment she opened the carriage door, her expressionless appearance even startled Eve, who was still making a fuss.

"You...you, how dare you treat this princess like this! You useless holy maiden!"

Eve realized what was happening and instantly became embarrassed and angry. She pointed at Maggie and started yelling, which made Maggie even more agitated, and her face turned terribly cold.

She chuckled at Eve, then slowly closed the carriage door, her tone like a cat toying with a mouse, playful and mocking.

"Eve, you don't still think you're a princess on a pedestal, do you?"

Eve clearly hadn't expected Maggie to speak to her like that, and her expression froze on her face. But soon, her inherent arrogance and spoiled, willful nature were revealed.

She nearly jumped up from her carriage seat, pointing at the haughty peacock with its tail feathers spread, completely unaware that her life was now in Maggie's hands.

"The priest has forgiven my sins. Your mission now is to protect this princess's safety. How dare you speak to me like that?!"

Eve was still babbling on and on.

"In the Kingdom of Saint Na, you are nothing but a piece of trash who doesn't even deserve to see me. Don't think you're so great just because you've become the Holy Maiden of Light!"

Maggie listened quietly until Eve finished speaking, then she slowly grinned, looked up at Eve who was still bouncing around, and her eyes flashed with intense malice.

Perhaps Maggie's attitude was too strange, because Eve's voice gradually faded.

"My dear Princess Eve, you don't really think I came here to protect you, do you?"

Maggie laughed, though her expression could be considered a smile; the words that came out of her mouth were like a sticky, damp viper, gradually coiling around Eve.

"Don't you realize that you're no different from a piece of trash now?"

After Maggie finished speaking, she looked at Eve with a relaxed expression.

Her expression changed drastically, and she frantically tried to circulate the magic power within her body. However, as Maggie had said, she was currently unable to use any magic power at all.

What did you do to me?!

After trying everything to no avail, Eve's face turned deathly pale in an instant, but her gaze quickly fell on Maggie's face, and she let out a near-mad scream.

“It’s not what I did to you, but what the priest did to you. I could kill you with a snap of my fingers right now, so you’d better behave yourself.”

Maggie watched coldly as Eve stomped her feet.

The high-level mage's magic was sealed, and she didn't even notice it for so long while she was in the carriage away from Santa Fe City. She only found out after being reminded.

Such a 'clever' princess, how did she survive to this age in the palace? The two royals really protected her well.

"You! You! Give me back my power!"

Eve was frantic, her finger trembling as she pointed at Maggie; she was extremely fragile and her expression was on the verge of collapse.

Maggie looked at the fingernails that were almost poking her face and finally lost all patience with Eve. All her advice was based on the premise that Eve wouldn't do anything stupid, but good advice is hard to persuade a damned devil.

The next second, Maggie's slender fingers appeared on Eve's neck, and with a violent jolt of the carriage, Eve was pinned to the seat by her grip.

"I told you to behave yourself."

Maggie frowned slightly, her tone as if she were being bothered by mice in the middle of the night, her impatience and irritation almost overflowing.

Eve's eyes widened, unable to speak as her neck was being choked. She could only wave her hands wildly in the air, seemingly trying to use magic, but it turned out that her power had already been sealed, leaving her helpless and at Maggie's mercy.

“Eve, even if I kill you now, I will not be punished. Your father and mother will only receive news that you died for violating the temple’s rules.”

"So please try to be quiet for the rest of the journey and don't provoke me again."

Maggie's fingers gradually tightened, and as Eve's face gradually turned red, she slowly leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear in a detached tone.

Eve was still struggling, but Maggie showed no sign of letting go and instead repeated what she had just said.

"Excuse me, Your Highness Princess Eve, did you hear me clearly?"

As Eve's struggles gradually subsided, Maggie asked again slowly and deliberately.

At this moment, Maggie in Eve's eyes was no longer the saint of light that everyone thought she was; she had become a demon from hell.

Eve was now certain that if she didn't agree, this woman would really kill her.

As her breathing became increasingly difficult, deep fear appeared in Eve's eyes, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. She managed to nod with all her might.

It seemed they hadn't expected Maggie to actually treat her like that.

Unable to speak, she could only answer Maggie in this way.

"That's a good boy."

Maggie released her hand, then gently patted Eve's cheek twice, whispering in her ear in an almost teasing tone.

"The binding spell was set up by the priest to prevent you from causing trouble. It will be lifted the moment you return to the palace. Don't make any futile attempts."

"As for me, I have a bad temper. If you provoke me again, there won't be a next time."

Regardless of Eve's reaction—whether she clutched her neck or glared at her with hatred—Maggie didn't care. She simply left those words behind and turned to get off the carriage.

But then she remembered the paladin's troubled expression, so she turned to Eve and added another sentence.

"Remember not to cause any trouble for the paladins either; they're already doing enough protecting you."

This time, Maggie finally left the carriage.
