Chapter 125 Don't even think about entering the Meng family.
Ji Wanqing looked at the lively expressions of gratitude in the fan group, put down her phone, and prepared to go to sleep.
I had just closed my eyes when I suddenly remembered that I had to take my mother to the hospital for follow-up treatment this week.
She quickly took out her phone and made an appointment before finally falling asleep with peace of mind.
The next day, Ji Wanqing got up early, ate breakfast, and took her mother to the hospital.
Fortunately, they didn't go to the outpatient department, but went directly to the inpatient department to find Pei Yu.
When I arrived at the office, Pei Yu was talking with other patients' families.
He looked up, smiled and nodded at Ji Wanqing and the other person, then looked away and continued talking to the patient's family.
He was wearing a white lab coat and looked serious, which reminded Ji Wanqing of the stack of brochures about him hanging outside the ward.
Ji Wanqing and her mother sat quietly in their chairs, waiting. Ji Wanqing was bored, so she turned her head to look around Pei Yu's office.
All the doctors in the inpatient department share an office, but it seems that each desk is their own. Some desks have green plants on them, while others have cute decorations.
The table in front of Pei Yu contained nothing but neatly stacked documents, just like the clean and tidy person he was.
After waiting for another ten minutes or so, the patients' family members bowed repeatedly in gratitude and left the doctor's office.
Pei Yu looked at Ji Wanqing and pointed to the chair next to her. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Come and sit down."
Ji Wanqing helped her mother sit down in the chair in front of Pei Yu, while she stood to the side. "It's alright, it's first come, first served. Thank you for your help, Dr. Pei."
Pei Yu clicked a few times on the computer, brought up Ji's mother's medical records, glanced at them, and then looked at Ji's mother.
"Have you been feeling unwell anywhere lately?"
Mrs. Ji smiled and shook her head. "Everything is fine."
Pei Yu nodded slightly, "Then let's stick to the previous plan. I'll give you a form, you just need to pay and get it done. If there are no physical discomforts, you can still come back next month for supportive treatment."
"Okay, thank you, Dr. Pei," Ji Wanqing said politely.
Pei Yu adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and nodded slightly.
As he wrote out the treatment prescription for Ji's mother, his mind wandered.
Today, Ji Wanqing was dressed casually, appeared to be without makeup, and was not as polished and lively as she was in the live stream, which made her seem more approachable, like a girl next door.
Pei Yu, with a faint smile on his lips, handed the printed form to Ji Wanqing and suddenly spoke as they thanked him and prepared to leave.
"I'm off this Friday, how about we have dinner at 5 pm?"
Ji Wanqing paused, subconsciously looking at her mother, who happened to be looking over at her as well.
The mother and daughter exchanged a glance, and Mrs. Ji readily agreed with a smile, "Then I'll have to trouble Dr. Pei. I'm really looking forward to it."
"Thank you, Dr. Pei. See you on Friday then." Ji Wanqing thanked him again.
It was already noon when Ji Wanqing returned from the hospital. Seeing her mother, who was still in good spirits, she decided to take her out for a stroll.
She hasn't been shopping in a long time, and sitting in front of the computer for long periods every day can easily cause back pain.
Ji Wanqing called the cook and told her that she didn't need to come over to cook that evening, then took her mother to her favorite shopping mall.
"Mom, just tell me what you like. Although I'm not as wealthy as Dad, buying a few clothes is still no problem for me!"
"Okay~" Ji's mother held her hand, her heart filled with relief.
However, after shopping for more than an hour, Ji's mother didn't buy anything except a silk scarf that wasn't too expensive.
Ji Wanqing knew that her mother was worried about her, and she felt very guilty. If she had listened to her parents and worked hard to learn at the company, she might be earning more money today.
She took a deep breath and pulled her mother to the store she used to frequent. "You have to buy an outfit today! Otherwise, we're not going home."
Mrs. Ji was both happy and helpless, and could only nod in agreement.
As soon as the two entered the store, Ji Wanqing saw Meng Chao sitting on the sofa playing on his phone, casually running his fingers through his hair with a helpless expression.
Ji Wanqing thought for a moment and realized that this seemed to be a women's clothing store.
Did you get a girlfriend? No wonder you haven't been on the live stream much lately.
However, this is only natural. Ji Wanqing was not too upset, just a little regretful, as if she was about to lose an older brother.
To avoid suspicion, she didn't greet Meng Chao first, but instead accompanied her mother around the store.
After taking only a few steps, her mother stopped beside her. Ji Wanqing thought her mother had taken a fancy to something, but when she turned her head, she saw that her mother was frowning and looked very unhappy.
She followed her mother's gaze and saw a noblewoman standing a few steps away. She looked to be about the same age as her mother and was looking at Ji's mother with a half-smile.
"Hey, it's been a long time!"
"Ha, this capital city is really small." Ji's mother pulled Ji Wanqing and turned to leave. "Let's find another shop. This is too unlucky."
Ji Wanqing's mouth dropped open. Her mother was always gentle and kind, rarely blushing or getting angry. Today, she actually said that others were unlucky. This was something Ji Wanqing had never seen before.
"How is it bad luck? He Caiwei, explain yourself!" The woman opposite her persisted, suddenly raising her voice, attracting the attention of many people in the shop.
Meng Chao finally noticed the commotion and looked up to see Ji Wanqing standing opposite his mother. He immediately put away his phone and strode over.
"Sunny day?" He looked bewildered, glancing left and right. "Mom? What's wrong now?"
"Mom?" Ji Wanqing was also confused. Had she misunderstood?
Mencius' mother also noticed that something was wrong, and frowned as she looked back and forth between the two of them several times.
The son's gaze is strange; why is he sticking to He Caiwei's daughter?
She scoffed, "You two know each other?"
Ji's mother also cast a questioning glance at Ji Wanqing. Ji Wanqing chuckled awkwardly, unable to understand how her good-tempered mother could have a conflict with someone else, especially her older brother's mother. This was really too embarrassing.
Meng Chao nodded matter-of-factly. "We know each other. What's wrong? You two... is there some misunderstanding? Why don't you sit down and have a good talk? Don't be angry."
"Shut up, you're siding with outsiders." Mother Meng glared at him, then looked at Mother Ji, "Don't even think about entering the Meng family."
Upon hearing this, Meng Chao became anxious and, disregarding social hierarchy, quickly covered his mother's mouth, saying, "Please, Mother, say less."
Mencius' mother was under his control and could only express her anger by sobbing.
Ji Wanqing was so embarrassed she almost wanted to dig out a three-bedroom apartment. Regardless of whether it was a misunderstanding or not, she didn't want anyone to insult her and her mother.
She forced a polite smile and said, "I'm sorry for making Auntie misunderstand. I'm not familiar with Meng Chao, and I won't be entering your Meng family's house, so there's no need to worry so much."
She took Ji's mother's arm and said, "Let's go, let's look at another store."
