In the first class, the four children were afraid of the ruler in Mr. Wu's hand, so they sat there like wooden men and did not dare to move.
But before the get out of class was over, Xiaobao started to cry. The book boy Afu who was standing by the side came over anxiously to ask,
"Master, what's wrong with you? Why are you crying?"
Xiaobao didn't answer him, but continued to cry. First he opened his mouth wide and cried, and finally he lay on the table and cried silently.
Ah Fu was so anxious that he didn't know what to do. Lele suddenly pointed at him and shouted with a laugh:
"He peed his pants!"
As soon as he shouted, the other two children and Mr. Wu looked under his buttocks, and sure enough, there was water flowing out there.
This scene scared Ah Fu so much that he was in a panic and didn't know what to do.
Leng Xi, who was standing not far away, felt something strange and walked over quickly. He stood in front of Xiao Bao and asked in a condescending voice:
"Since you have the urge to go to the bathroom, why don't you ask for leave from your husband?"
Xiaobao pouted, his face flushed red, and he looked at Lengxi with pitiful eyes.
Seeing this, Mr. Wu said to Huaiyu:
"Huaiyu, go find some clothes for Xiaobao."
Huaiyu folded her arms and turned her head to the side, indicating that she was unwilling to help him.
Mr. Wu was helpless and looked at An An again. An An blinked a few times, then stuck out her tongue and said:
"Sir, An An's clothes are girls' clothes. If Xiao Bao wants to wear them, I can find some for him."
As soon as she finished speaking, Xiaobao started shouting loudly,
"I don't want to wear women's clothes."
Finally, Mr. Wu looked at Lele and said, "Lele, didn't your mother teach you that when others are in trouble, you should do your best to help them? Now that Xiaobao is in trouble, shouldn't you help him?"
Lele, who was always kindhearted, felt a little embarrassed when he saw Xiaobao's embarrassment. He stood up from his seat and nodded:
"Sir, you're right. I'll go find him some clean clothes."
As he spoke, he ran away. Huaiyu and Anan both sniffed at him, as if blaming him for helping this annoying Xiaobao, but he had already run too far to be seen.
After a while, Lele came running over with a set of clean clothes. Ah Fu hurriedly took Xiaobao to change. During this period, Mr. Wu asked everyone to take a break.
Taking advantage of this gap, An An sneaked out, came to the corridor, stood in front of Leng Xi, and looked up at him.
"Fifth Uncle, An An really feels very familiar with you. No, it's your eyes that make An An feel very familiar. Can you tell An An, was it you who saved us that night?"
Hearing this, Leng Xi was stunned for a moment. It seemed that his guess was right. This smart little girl had already suspected him.
He quickly squatted down, put his finger to his lips and shushed, "An An, are you talking about saving you in the Imperial Garden that day? I happened to be passing by and saved you. Don't take it to heart."
An An waved his hands and shook his head vigorously.
"I'm not talking about this. I'm talking about another thing. It's about us being locked up by bad guys and a little uncle like you saving us."
After saying this, she pulled out the strip of cloth hidden in her lapel.
"This piece of cloth was left to me by that young uncle, and I've kept it. I always feel that the Fifth Prince's eyes look the same as that young uncle's, so I really want to know if you are that young uncle."
After saying this, An An prepared to put the piece of cloth in front of Leng Xi, trying to cover the lower half of Leng Xi's face. She probably wanted to use this to prove whether the person who saved them that night was the Fifth Prince in front of her!
Seeing this, Leng Xi hurriedly snatched the cloth from her hand. Seeing this, An An's eyes were immediately filled with tears. Her eyes were so aggrieved that Leng Xi dared not look directly at her.
He frowned, held his chin in his hand and pondered for a while, then said softly:
"How about this, if you want to know the truth, come to the pavilion in the back garden of Prince Yu's mansion at 12:00 PM tonight. I will tell you, but you must keep this a secret. No one else can tell it except you and me. Can you do that?"
Hearing this, An An stopped crying instantly and nodded hurriedly.
"Yes, then let's make a deal. You are not allowed to lie to An An and you must come tonight."
Leng Xi stretched out his hand, ready to high-five her, when Huaiyu, who had been unable to find An An, called out to her from the end of the corridor.
"An An, Mr. Wu asked you to come back to class quickly."
"knew."
An An replied to Huai Yu, then turned back and blinked at Leng Xi a few times. She raised her hand to take the strip of cloth from his hand, carefully stuffed it into the pocket in front of her lapel, and then lowered her voice and said mysteriously:
"Then it's a deal. See you tonight."
Leaving these words behind, she dodged and ran towards the school.
Looking at her back, Leng Xi's eyes revealed an ambiguous look.
He didn't know if what he was doing was right, but he had to do it to be safe.
…
At noon, Xiao Lingzi came to report,
"Princess, your servant and Prince Ming have been searching along the direction An An and Huai Yu ran back that day. In the end, guess where they ended up?"
"where?"
Luo Lan put down the cup in his hand and looked up at Xiao Lingzi.
"Prince Xi's Mansion..."
Xiao Lingzi's brows tightened and he continued:
"That stretch of road is lined with shops, so there shouldn't be such a large woodshed. After crossing the main street, you'll find the back door of Prince Xi's Mansion."
