An An's eyes flickered. She looked at the man in black in front of her, and her heart was filled with fear, and her small brows were twisted together.
Where is she? Who is this man in front of her? Why has she locked herself up here?
She closed her eyes tightly and opened them again, her memory going back to the moment she fell off the cliff...
When she opened her eyes and didn't see her father and mother, she realized that she might be in danger. In this unfamiliar place, she had to learn to protect herself.
In order to stabilize the other party, she must not act rashly...
Thinking of this, she rolled her eyes nervously, pursed her lips, and asked again in a calm manner:
"Who...are you? Where am I?"
Leng Xi looked at her, pondered for a moment, and replied in a low voice:
"I'm a hunter. When I went up the mountain to hunt, I saw you lying at the foot of the mountain, badly injured, so I brought you back..."
For some reason, An An could feel that the man in front of her was not telling the truth. She looked at his eyes that kept dodging, and felt a sense of familiarity and déjà vu.
Where had she seen these eyes before? Her mind raced, trying hard to recall, but in the end, she couldn't remember.
"Thank you, then... then do you know who I am?"
She wanted to confirm whether this man was her father's enemy. She could not reveal her identity until she was sure of the other party's identity.
The question she asked made Leng Xi look surprised.
He looked at An An and asked puzzledly:
"Don't you know who you are? Do you know what your name is?"
An An bit her lip tightly, stared with wide eyes, and shook her head timidly, "I don't know, my mind is blank, I can't remember anything."
Leng Xi suddenly realized that this girl might have lost her memory because of a severe head injury.
He looked at her and asked tentatively again:
"Then do you remember how you were injured? Do you remember who your father and mother are?"
An An pondered for a while, then shook his head, "I don't remember, I don't remember anything."
As she said this, she deliberately held her head and looked very distressed.
She felt that she must not reveal her identity in this unknown environment and in front of this stranger, and she had to find a way to protect herself.
An An lost her memory? This made Leng Xi feel at a loss. He had originally just wanted to wait until An An woke up and try his best not to let her discover his identity, but he never expected that she would actually lose her memory.
"You really don't remember who you are?" he asked again.
"I don't know. Who am I? You just said you saved me? Thank you. Then can you tell me what happened to me? How did I get hurt? Who am I?"
She asked a tentative question again, and from her expression, Leng Xi was sure that this little girl had lost her memory.
After secretly rejoicing in his heart, he shook his head with a sad face.
"I don't know who you are, and I don't know how you got injured. I just saved you at the foot of the mountain while hunting..."
An An's pair of shrewd eyes turned around. These eyes really made her feel familiar. She wanted to support herself and sit up. Seeing this, he hurried forward to help her.
"oops!"
An An's body swayed, and she seemed to have lost her balance. When she was about to fall, she accidentally pulled the black cloth off his face. Seeing this, Leng Xi hurriedly covered it with his hands, fearing that she would recognize him.
An An did it on purpose. She just wanted to see what kind of face was underneath these eyes that seemed so familiar to her.
The moment his black veil fell, she saw the face clearly, but what she didn't expect was that the man in black in front of her was her fifth uncle.
An An's actions caught Leng Xi off guard.
He quickly turned his face away, put on his veil again, and looked back at her.
"My face was injured and I'm a little scared of people, so I wear a veil. Otherwise, you would be scared when you see me."
He made up an excuse, but he didn't expect that An An had already seen his face clearly.
An An held her mouth tightly, staring at the man in front of her with wide eyes. He knew who she was, but he locked her up here and pretended not to recognize her. It seemed that he must have other purposes for doing this. Maybe he wanted to harm her, or maybe he wanted to use her to threaten his father and mother?
Countless bad thoughts emerged in her mind, her fingers pressed tightly into her palms, and a feeling of fear surged in her heart.
In order to survive, she must keep him steady.
After a long silence, in order not to alert the enemy, she tilted her neck to look at Leng Xi, grinning in surprise.
"Uncle, your eyes are so beautiful..."
uncle?
She called herself uncle, not fifth uncle. Could it be that she really didn't recognize herself?
Leng Xi touched the veil on her face, and after making sure it was properly worn, she turned to look at her with a puzzled look in her eyes and asked:
"You... don't recognize me?"
An An shook his head vigorously.
"I don't recognize you, but your eyes are so beautiful. I don't even know who I am now. Can you tell me who I am? Or, can you help me find my family?"
An An's question made Leng Xi's expression more relaxed. He looked at An An's big eyes that were full of sincerity, smiled softly and shook his head.
"I don't know you, and I can't help you find your family. How about this: you stay here first, and I'll ask someone to find out if there are any children missing. If there are, I'll take you to find your family."
