Leng Xi looked at her, with a touch of tenderness between his brows.
"I'm not leaving. I'm going outside to see if there are any wild animals nearby. I'll sleep there tonight too."
As he spoke, he pointed to a bed next to him, and An An nodded in relief.
"Don't go. I'll go with you tomorrow..."
An An was probably too sleepy, and soon she fell into a deep sleep. Leng Xi looked at her sleeping face, listened to her even breathing, sighed helplessly, turned around and walked out of the house.
The moonlight is beautiful tonight, but he has no desire to fall asleep.
Tomorrow, he will take An An to a strange place and never let her come back. Although he feels reluctant, he still has to do it. At least, he has left her a way to survive, just by letting her live in a different place.
He looked up at the bright moon in the sky, and his mood became complicated.
The moon is so round tonight, just like the night when he and Long Xiaomin first met. However, those days can never be returned.
He sat at the door with his eyes closed, recalling the little things between him and Long Xiaomin, and dozed off with his eyes closed.
The next morning,
In this wooden house surrounded by big trees, sunlight can only shine in through the gaps.
When An An opened her eyes, the place was empty again.
She sat up suddenly and looked around timidly.
"uncle……"
She called out softly, but there was no response. She suddenly felt a little scared. Could it be that her fifth uncle had abandoned her here again?
"uncle……"
She called out again, and the door creaked open from the outside. Leng Xi came to her with a roasted rabbit in his hand.
"An An, come, it's time for breakfast."
Seeing the burnt hare, An An hurriedly put on his shoes and went down to the ground, calling him impatiently.
"Uncle, wait."
Leng Xi looked back at her and asked in confusion:
"What's wrong?"
An An waved to him.
"Uncle, squat down."
Squat down?
Although Leng Xi was puzzled, he still squatted down as An An said.
An An stretched out her little hand, wiped his forehead, and said with a grin:
"Uncle's face is so black, it must have been dirty when he roasted the wild rabbit for An An."
This scene made Leng Xi's heart tremble. An An in front of him stared at him with big eyes, rubbing her fingers on his face continuously. There was not a trace of impurities in those eyes, but she could see his own evil face.
No, he absolutely cannot be soft-hearted towards this little girl.
Thinking of this, he quickly stood up from the ground, his voice became cold,
“Let’s eat!”
He was really afraid that if this continued, he wouldn't be able to bear to throw An An away...
An An said "Oh" and quickly ran to Leng Xi. After placing the stool, she ran to the other side, climbed onto the stool, and rested her chin on her hands, watching Leng Xi tear off the roasted rabbit meat piece by piece and put it on the plate in front of him.
Leng Xi's movements were repeated, and her eyes kept moving along with his hands.
After a while, Leng Xi stopped what he was doing and looked at her.
"Why don't you eat?"
"I'll wait for you to eat together."
"I'm not hungry, you eat."
Leng Xi's voice turned cold and he didn't want to look at the little girl any more. He was really afraid that he would become soft-hearted.
An An grumbled, picked up a piece of meat and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing and nodding.
"Mm, it's delicious, uncle, you should eat it too."
Leng Xi didn't answer her and continued to tear the rabbit meat in his hand.
An An picked up a piece of meat, jumped down from the stool, and came to Leng Xi. She looked up at her and held the meat in her hand high.
"Uncle, it's not convenient for you to take it, An An will feed you."
Leng Xi's face, which had been calm just now, suddenly had a strange look on it.
He only glanced at An An and replied coldly:
"I don't want to eat."
"Uncle, An An will feed you."
"No."
He turned his head away and didn't look at her, but An An stubbornly held up her hand holding the rabbit meat and refused to put it down.
After a stalemate for a while, Leng Xi couldn't help but lower his head. An An grinned. She lifted the veil on his face, but didn't look at him deliberately. Instead, she stuffed the rabbit meat into his mouth and looked at him with a smile on her face.
Leng Xi's heart was struck again. This little girl, could you please stop being like this? If she continued like this, he really wouldn't be able to bear to throw her far away.
Thinking of this, he squeezed the only remaining bone in his hand hard. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain, and then blood flowed out through his fingers.
It turned out that he had just lost his mind and forgot that he was holding a rabbit bone. He squeezed it hard and accidentally pinched a bone, cutting his finger.
"Uncle, you are bleeding."
An An pointed at his bleeding finger. Leng Xi threw the rabbit bone on the table. An An ran to the window, brought a basin of water, and placed it on the stool in front of him, urging him anxiously.
"Wash it quickly, or it will get infected."
Leng Xi obediently put his hands in the basin, An An rolled up his sleeves and carefully helped him wash.
Looking at her delicate fingers, Leng Xi under the veil bit her lips angrily.
"Uncle, why are you so careless? Does it hurt? Let me blow it for you."
As she spoke, she brought Leng Xi's injured hand to her mouth and blew on it gently.
Leng Xi hurriedly stopped him and said:
"It's nothing serious, just a minor injury."
"Even small injuries can't be taken lightly. Small injuries can easily get infected. Wait, I'll bandage them for you."
