Leng Xi was stunned by her question, then chuckled disdainfully.
"I'm not that busy. I just passed by the city gate yesterday and didn't see Sixth Brother, so I asked around. I heard someone saw Sixth Brother injured, so I decided to come check on him early this morning. If Sixth Brother just caught a cold, that's not all that bad..."
At this point, he raised his eyebrows and continued:
"Is Sixth Brother in the room? I'm going to go see him. I have something to tell him."
Luo Xueming knew that he was doing it on purpose, but she still raised her eyebrows and kindly advised:
"Leng Mingran has a contagious cold. Prince Xi should not go to see him. If you get infected, don't blame me for not warning you."
"Oh? Then I'll have to go check it out. If that's the case, we have to report this to the court. Otherwise, if it spreads among the people, it will be a serious matter..."
Luo Xue knew that Leng Ming came here sincerely to find out the truth. He had already thought of his excuse before coming, and he would not give up until he saw Leng Ming today.
Thinking of this, she could only nod helplessly.
"Well, since Prince Xi cares so much about Leng Ming, I can't stop him all the time, so please follow me!"
Leng Xi's eyes flickered a few times, and then he followed Luo Xue and walked towards the backyard of Prince Ming's Mansion.
"Why is it so deserted? Where are the servants in the mansion?"
Leng Xi felt something was strange and asked as he walked.
Luo Xue took out a handkerchief from her pocket and said as she prepared to cover her mouth:
"I sent all the servants to the front yard..."
As she spoke, she moved the handkerchief towards her nose and mouth, pressed it hard, and then came to the door where Leng Ming was, gently pushed it open, and called out to the inside.
"Prince Ming, Prince Xi is here to see you."
There was no sound from inside. Luo Xue turned around and said to Leng Xi:
"Please come in, Lord Xi."
Leng Xi looked at her in surprise.
"You... aren't you going to take me in?"
Luo Xue shook her head in embarrassment.
"I won't go in. Please go in!"
Leng Xi then stepped into the door with a lot of doubts. Luo Xue looked at his back, blinked a few times with disdain, turned around and sat in the yard.
"Ming'er, I'm the fifth brother..."
After entering the house, Leng Xi felt an inexplicable fear. He felt that the place was pitifully quiet. He called out, but no one answered.
The windows here are all closed, and the whole room is shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere.
"Ahem...Fifth Brother, you're here! Come in quickly..."
Leng Ming's voice seemed to come from far away. Leng Xi breathed a sigh of relief and walked inside.
When he came to Leng Ming's bed, Leng Ming suddenly stretched out his hand and grinned:
"Fifth brother, you're the best. No one dared to come in. They all said I had a contagious disease. They even threw down food and ran away. Don't you think they deserve to die?"
"this……"
Leng Xi looked at his pale face and asked in surprise:
"Sixth brother, what happened to you? Are you injured? Or did you catch a cold?"
“Cough cough cough…”
Leng Xi coughed a few more times, then opened the hand that had just covered his mouth, stretched it towards Leng Xi, and said with a bloody grin:
"I'm not injured, I just have a cough. I don't know what's wrong. Princess Yu came to see me and just told them not to come near me. I don't know what's going on either."
Blood?
Leng Xi looked at the bright red blood in his palm, covered his mouth reflexively, and couldn't help but step back a few steps.
Could it be that he really had contracted a disease? The blood in his palm was clearly coughed out from his mouth.
Thinking of this, he took a breath and looked at Leng Ming with a hint of inquiry.
Leng Ming extended his hand to him again, looked at him with longing eyes, and said weakly:
"Fifth brother, now only you...only you can help me. Quick, help me out of bed. I want to go out and get some fresh air. I want...cough cough cough...I'm suffocating to death."
Leng Xi looked at his bloody hand, the blood stains on the corner of his mouth, and his face as pale as paper, and he suddenly felt a little scared.
If he really caught a cold or tuberculosis and it was transmitted to him, his life would be ruined.
Thinking of this, he hurriedly shook his head, stepped back, and grumbled.
"Ah, that, Sixth Brother, you can't get out of bed easily because of your illness. You'd better stay in bed and rest! I have something to do at home, I will come to see you later..."
“Bang!”
Leng Xi was so anxious to leave that he accidentally knocked over the flowerpot in the corner, but he didn't have time to apologize and fled from Leng Ming's room.
When Luo Xue, who was waiting outside, saw him, she first smirked, then asked seriously:
"Lord Xi, why did you come out so soon? Why didn't you chat with him for a while? Is he happy that you came?"
A little sweat flowed down Leng Xi's forehead. He shook his head and breathed a sigh of relief.
"I just remembered that I have something else to take care of in the mansion, so I'll take my leave now."
Just like that, he didn't stay for a moment, nor did he say another word to Luo Xue. With a look of fear on his face, he ran towards the door in a hurry.
Only after watching him leave Prince Ming's Mansion did the servants in the Mansion come out from their corners.
Xiao Cao even stepped forward and said:
"Princess, Prince Xi left in a hurry. It seems he is serious."
Luo Xue twitched her nose and said disdainfully:
"He cherishes his life more than anyone else, how dare you not take it seriously?"
After saying this, she turned around and looked at the servants in the mansion, and instructed everyone:
