Shui Youcai saw his aunt started sobbing again, and he said directly with some impatience:
"Let me tell you, Lan'er. Chunhua married the eldest son of the wealthy Li family in the neighboring village years ago, but she hasn't been back for a few months. We miss her and want to go see her, but the wealthy Li family won't let us in. We tried to force our way in, but the servants beat us out. We don't know whether Chunhua is dead or alive. We reported it to the authorities, but they said they don't care, so...so we're begging you, can you send someone to look for Chunhua?"
Hearing this, Luo Lan's brows were immediately twisted into a ball. After all, Shui Chunhua married the stupid son of the rich man Li. Her aunt was so cruel that she would do anything for money.
However, since her uncle's family was in trouble, there was no reason for her to sit idly by.
So, she said to Ah Hong:
"Ah Hong, take a few people and go check out that wealthy man Li's house."
"Yes, Princess."
Hearing this, Shui Youcai choked up with tears in his eyes, "Lan'er, uncle thanks you on behalf of your sister Chunhua."
Luo Lan shook her head with eyes that flashed like cold stars, and smiled at him:
"Uncle, don't say that. For your sake, I will also help you with this."
Her words made it clear that she was only helping out for her uncle's sake.
After receiving the order, Ahong and Acai took Shui Youcai and Liu to Lijiazhuang where the rich man Li lived.
But at noon, Ah Hong came back angrily and said to Luo Lan directly after entering the door:
"Princess, that wealthy man Li's house is like an iron wall. We knocked on the door for a long time but they wouldn't let us in. We forced our way in, and they even called the police over, accusing us of trespassing and wanting to arrest us. We're afraid of making a big fuss, so we can only come back to report this to you."
"Did you see anyone?"
"No, the people in the government office are obviously on the side of the Li family. We can't use the status of Prince Yu's Mansion to suppress them, so we can only return in disgrace. By the way, your uncle and aunt are still waiting in the front yard. Your aunt has been crying the whole time."
Hearing this, Luo Lan frowned and held his chin in his hand, pondering, "Why did the Li family lock Shui Chunhua up? Is there some hidden reason?"
But since she is in charge of this matter, she must see it through to the end.
Thinking of this, she said to Ah Hong:
"I'll go and see for myself."
"Princess, are you going in person? Isn't that inappropriate?"
"There's nothing inappropriate about it. I want to see who this wealthy Mr. Li is."
Although she hated Shui Chunhua, she was her uncle's daughter after all. If something really happened to her, her uncle would not be happy. She felt that she needed to come forward to help her uncle solve the problem.
Just as she was about to go out, Leng Yu happened to rush back. As soon as he came in front of Luo Lan, he asked in surprise:
"Lan'er, why are your uncle and aunt crying in the front yard?"
Luo Lan had no time to explain, his eyes fell on Xiao Lingzi and Zhang Yuan behind him.
"Lend me your two guards."
"Where are you going?"
"I'll tell you when I get back."
After saying that, Luo Lan waved to the two of them. They looked at Leng Yu, and after getting his permission, they quickly followed.
Luo Lan, together with her uncle and aunt, drove with Xiao Lingzi, Zhang Yuan, A Cai, A Hong and several other men to the home of Mr. Li, the rich man in Lijiazhuang.
It was almost dusk. Luo Lan stood in front of the door of Mr. Li's house with his hands on his hips and said to Zhang Yuan:
"Go knock on the door."
Zhang Yuan nodded and patted the big red-painted iron door hard.
After a while, the door cracked open, and a man in servant's clothes poked his head out from inside, shouting unhappily,
"Why are you knocking? Are you calling out to the dead in the middle of the night? If you have anything to say, let's talk about it tomorrow!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Yuan grabbed his collar without any hesitation, crossed the threshold and pulled him out.
He had no time to react, and only cried out "ouch" before falling directly in front of Luo Lan.
Luo Lan looked at the servant and said coldly:
"I want to see your master. Lead the way..."
The servant nodded and bowed quickly:
"Miss, I dare not open the door without the master's permission. Please allow me to go and inform him."
Xiao Lingzi ignored him and grabbed his collar, turned his head towards the gate of Li Mansion, kicked him hard at the butt, and shouted:
"Why are you talking so much nonsense? Lead the way quickly."
The gatekeeper was nearly knocked down by Xiao Lingzi's kick. He had no choice but to crawl towards the red painted iron gate while wailing heartbreakingly.
"Master, someone is causing trouble."
Xiao Lingzi wanted to step forward and teach the servant a lesson for his nonsense, but was stopped by Luo Lan.
"Don't bother with him. We're not here to fight."
Shui Youcai followed Luo Lan and asked cautiously:
"They will definitely report it to the police. When the police come, they won't charge us with trespassing, right?"
But my aunt rolled her eyes and blamed me:
"Are you out of your mind? Lan'er is the princess. How dare the government punish her?"
"Shut up."
Luo Lan glared at her unhappily and said coldly:
"Don't mention my name anywhere..."
My aunt quickly shrank her neck and closed her mouth.
She didn't want to cause trouble for Prince Yu's Mansion, nor did she want people to think that she, the Princess of Yu, was someone who relied on her status to trespass into other people's homes.
