Chapter 26 Do you know Mr. Gong?

Su Tianhao wiped away the two tears he had managed to squeeze out, then cleared his throat. "Have you ever thought about why your uncle was in such a hurry to bury the old man?"

Su Ziqing clenched her fists slightly under the table as she looked at Su Tianhao's face.

Su Tianhao is, after all, a rich second-generation. Although he isn't particularly capable and has an older brother who keeps him in check, even a starved camel is bigger than a horse.

His face was well-maintained, with fewer wrinkles than Su Tianming, who was two years older than him, not to mention he had a head of jet-black hair.

"My elder brother is resentful that the old man is unfair to him," Su Tianhao said, keeping everyone in suspense before finally revealing this.

Su Ziqing looked at him intently, then moved her lips slightly, "Oh?"

"You should know by now that the old man... gave you more than a third of his fortune." Su Tianhao felt uneasy, thinking that Su Ziqing was too calm.

"Your uncle is furious. Ha, that makes sense. In his mind, he probably thinks that two-thirds of this house belongs to him." Su Tianhao sneered.

Throughout the entire conversation, Su Tianhao only mentioned Su Tianming and never mentioned Old Madam Su. Su Ziqing wasn't stupid, and she guessed what he meant.

"Second Uncle," Su Ziqing said calmly, "don't you feel this is unfair?"

Su Tianhao chuckled, "Ziqing, if I said no, you would definitely think that your second uncle is lying and deceiving you, a junior. But to be honest, whether in my eldest brother's eyes or in the old man's will, I would only get a maximum of one-third, wouldn't I?"

“I can’t stand your uncle’s arrogance. We’re both descendants of the Su family, so why does he get two-thirds? Is that right?” Su Tianhao sighed. “A lot has happened at home and in the company since the old man passed away.”

"I've come to see you today for two reasons: first, I can't stand my brother's dictatorship; second, I hope to protect my share." After saying so much, Su Tianhao finally revealed his hand.

After all, the triangle is the most stable shape in the world.

Su Ziqing picked up her cup, took a sip of water, and remained silent for a long time.

Su Tianhao looked at her injured hand and said, "Ziqing, you used to have Grandpa protecting you, but from now on, your second uncle will protect you."

"..." Su Ziqing put down her cup, a faint sarcastic smile in her eyes, and looked at Su Tianhao, "You?"

Su Tianhao nodded, "Yes, it's me."

"Heh." Don't believe him for a second.

"Second Uncle," Su Ziqing's smile faded, "you and Uncle are the real brothers." And what was she to them?

Don't forget, everyone in the Su family, except for Grandpa, is wary of her severed palm.

"He doesn't even care about the bond between father and son, how could he possibly remember me as his brother?" Su Tianhao sneered.

Hmm, that makes sense.

Su Ziqing was silent for a while, then asked, "How does Second Uncle plan to protect me?"

"Of course, everything should be done according to the law. The old man made a will..."

He went on and on, as if trying to show Su Ziqing his sincerity.

After he finished speaking, he waited for her to give him a positive response.

Su Ziqing suddenly said, "Second Uncle, did you know that Grandpa was ill before he passed away?"

Su Tianhao nodded, "I know." Seeing that Su Ziqing's face darkened upon hearing his words, he added, "But the old man repeatedly instructed that no one should be allowed to tell you about his illness."

Hearing this, Su Ziqing felt even more heartbroken and wanted to cry. Her grandfather loved her the most when he was alive, but she didn't even know that her grandfather was sick.

“Grandpa loves you the most,” Su Tianhao said softly. “He even said before that he wanted to see her get married and start a family.”

Su Ziqing's tears welled up in her eyes and fell like beans.

"I never expected the old man to pass away so suddenly..." Su Tianhao was also in tears, rubbing his forehead with his hand.

Su Ziqing wiped away her tears. She wanted to ask him if he had noticed anything unusual about the old man, but she was afraid of alerting him.

"I understand." Su Ziqing stood up, concluding this 'warm' meeting from the evening.

Su Tianhao wiped away his tears. "So?"

"I'll get back to you later." She kept him hanging, not in a hurry to give him an answer.

We need to think about collaborating with him again.

However, Su Ziqing had already made up her mind. She was just saying this to deliberately keep him hanging.

Su Tianhao hummed in agreement, but still reminded her, "The shareholders' meeting is tomorrow."

Su Ziqing simply nodded and walked away.

After leaving the coffee shop, Su Tianhao actually chased after her and called out, "Ziqing." Two bodyguards stood on either side of Su Ziqing, making her very conspicuous.

Su Ziqing turned her head and looked at Su Tianhao, who had chased after her.

Su Tianhao glanced at the two bodyguards, then looked at them with concern. "You hired bodyguards?"

"Second Uncle, didn't you remind me to be careful? For the sake of safety, of course I need to hire bodyguards, since I'm a frail girl who can't even kill a chicken."

I heard that she was able to fight two bodyguards to a draw at the Su family's house, but she's so weak and frail? She can't even kill a chicken?

Su Ziqing got on the bus.

The car was clearly not one that a girl like her could drive. Su Tianhao held back for a while, but finally couldn't help but ask, "Ziqing, I heard you know Mr. Gong?"

Su Ziqing got into the back seat of the car, and didn't close the door immediately. He must have been holding back these words for a long time.

She simply looked at him intently, but didn't say anything.

The car door closed, preventing them from looking at each other.

Through the car window, Su Ziqing watched Su Tianhao standing there, looking thoughtful.

……………………

A black sedan drove into a private residence in the city center. The courtyard, with its modern Chinese style, offered a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Not far away lies a bustling new metropolis, yet the scenery within the private residence feels as if one has traveled back to ancient times.

As Gong Chengjue parked his car and got out, he noticed several other equally understated black sedans.

"Mr. Gong," the butler, dressed in a Tang suit, greeted respectfully.

Gong Chengjue was wearing a coat, and his arms were hanging naturally at his sides. Without careful observation, one would not be able to tell that his hands were injured.

The butler led Gong Chengjue for a while, then stopped at a door. The wooden sliding door wasn't very soundproof, and they could hear the sound of mahjong tiles being played inside.

"Let's open!" A loud male voice rang out, and you could tell he was quite excited.

Gong Chengjue stood there expressionless.

"Young Master, Mr. Gong has arrived," the butler called from outside before opening the sliding door.

Inside, a mahjong game was indeed underway.

Sheng Yuanshuo rolled up his sleeves to his elbows, a cigar dangling from his mouth, and both hands busy holding the mahjong tiles.

Hearing the door open, everyone inside looked in Gong Chengjue's direction and cheered, "Young Master Gong is here! Come on, come on, give him a pat!"

Sheng Yuanshuo smiled brightly, his face with peach blossom eyes. "Chengjue, you've come at the right time. Quickly drag that brat Zuo Jing away. He's been fooling around all night."

"Okay." Gong Chengjue took off his shoes and went inside.

“Palace…” Luo Jinhan hesitated, unable to finish his sentence.
