Finally, we could have a quiet dinner, but no one at the table seemed inclined to speak.
There were more than a dozen people, including younger siblings and many adults, but not one of them dared to speak.
Finally, Su Ziqing spoke up, "I ate lunch quite late, and I'm too full to eat anymore."
Su Tianhao immediately chimed in, "I've almost finished eating too. Um, Ziqing, I have something to discuss with you first."
Su Ziqing smiled, "Then let's go to the study."
Su Tianhao asked someone to bring him coffee, but Su Ziqing said she didn't need it.
To be honest, in all her years in the Su family, even when her grandfather was alive, she had never been treated with such courtesy by the Su family.
Su Ziqing went into the study, but Su Tianhao took out the property certificate.
Su Ziqing raised an eyebrow, puzzled.
Su Tianhao looked at her and said, "This is the property certificate for this house."
"Second Uncle?"
“Ziqing, in the past, your second uncle was influenced by others and didn’t care much about you. But now, facts have proven that blood is thicker than water.”
Su Ziqing was too lazy to correct his statement. Blood is thicker than water, and his blood is even thicker than Su Tianming's.
However, this is the outcome she wanted. She took the property certificate and said, "Thank you."
Su Ziqing opened the property certificate, looked at the owner's name on it, and realized it was already hers.
She closed the property certificate and smiled slightly, "Second Uncle is so thoughtful."
“You were the one my grandfather loved the most when he was alive. This place holds many of your memories.”
Su Ziqing did not speak again.
"Oh right, you said on the phone earlier that you were setting up a branch in the capital and that you would recommend the person in charge?" Su Tianhao had already fallen out with Su Tianming over personnel appointments, so of course he wouldn't turn against Su Ziqing over something like this.
As long as it's not too unreasonable, he'll agree to whatever conditions Su Ziqing asks for.
Su Ziqing wasn't in a hurry to talk about this. Instead, she took the property certificate, looked at him, and said, "Second Uncle, shouldn't the company's debts owed by Uncle be transferred from his personal account?"
“Of course, someone is already negotiating.” Su Tianhao nodded.
"Second Uncle is truly fair in separating public and private matters." Su Ziqing smiled lightly before answering Su Tianhao's question. "Yes, I've already found the person in charge for the branch company in the capital. Although I'm not particularly interested in business, I can't let people say I'm just sitting around doing nothing while holding so many shares. It'll be a good opportunity for me to go to the capital and learn a thing or two."
Su Tianhao was surprised, "You want to join the company?"
Su Ziqing hummed in agreement. "Does Second Uncle think what I'm doing is wrong?"
Su Tianhao coughed twice and laughed, "No, you're right, let's do it your way."
“Then Second Uncle will proceed according to procedure.” Su Ziqing smiled as well.
The atmosphere seemed perfectly harmonious.
Su Ziqing's phone rang. She answered, "Okay, I'll be there." Then she hung up and looked at Su Tianhao, "It's getting late, so I'll be going now."
Su Tianhao nodded, "It's cold, take care to keep warm and don't catch a cold."
"Second Uncle, please take care of yourself too." Su Ziqing turned and left.
Su Tianhao's smile almost faltered, but Su Ziqing suddenly turned around and asked, "Oh, by the way, Second Uncle, when are you moving out?"
Su Tianhao was slightly taken aback. Move out?
"Second Uncle, please don't misunderstand. I didn't mean anything by it. But as you know, I have a single palmar crease, and I'm afraid living together might affect you," Su Ziqing said with a smile.
Su Tianhao could only force a smile, "Ziqing, this..."
"Of course, my second uncle might not mind, but I'm used to living alone, so..." she said somewhat awkwardly.
"Of course I don't mind, but our whole family is indeed too noisy and might bother you. We'll move back to our original house in a couple of days," Su Tianhao said, giving a specific timeframe.
"Then I'll be going now." Su Ziqing smiled slightly and walked away.
Su Tianhao's smile vanished. He hadn't expected that giving the property rights to Su Ziqing would mean he couldn't even live here anymore. He regretted doing her a favor!
……………………
Su Ziqing drove the car to the outside of the residential area and gave it to the bodyguard to drive, while she got into Gong Chengjue's car.
"Why did you deliberately come all the way here?" Didn't he say he was going to be busy for a while longer?
Gong Chengjue looked at her, his expression somewhat serious, his deep eyes concealing his thoughts.
"What's wrong?" Su Ziqing felt uneasy under his gaze.
"I got a call from the capital; I need to go back to the capital," he said.
Upon hearing this news, Su Ziqing was not surprised at all. Didn't he say before that he would be going back soon?
"Oh, when are you coming back?"
"Tomorrow morning," he said.
She hummed in agreement. Although it was a bit sudden, transportation is so convenient now that it's not far to fly to the capital, just a few hours away, so she didn't feel too much of a sense of parting.
But she couldn't help asking, "When are you coming back?"
It's almost the end of the year, time to be even busier.
"Unsure." Gong Chengjue looked at her and suddenly told the driver to stop the car.
"Get out and walk around." He opened the car door.
Su Ziqing got out of the car with him, and he naturally took her hand in his.
Luo Jinhan tried to follow, but he refused, saying, "No need to come." He just wanted to walk with her alone.
Su Ziqing was still wearing high heels, but since he was leaving, she stayed with him.
I don't know what call he received, but his aura seemed to have changed. Could it be some bad news?
Walking on the sidewalk, amidst the dappled sunlight and dappled shadows of the trees, neither of them uttered a sound, appearing serene and content.
"Ah!" Su Ziqing suddenly lost her footing, her sharp heel digging into a crack in the brickwork. With a sudden effort, the heel broke off...
Gong Chengjue helped her up, and the two of them lowered their heads at the same time.
"It's broken." Su Ziqing was a little embarrassed. She hadn't expected such a ridiculous thing as her heel falling off at this time.
"Hmm." Gong Chengjue squatted down...
Su Ziqing stared blankly at him squatting in front of her, his movements clearly indicating that he was going to carry her on his back, but because it was so obvious, she didn't know how to react.
"Come up," he said, turning to look at her.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Su Ziqing pursed her lips, suppressing a laugh, then climbed onto his neck, "Then don't drop me."
"I'll be your cushion if you fall."
He carried her on his back and continued forward. Su Ziqing looked back at the car that was quite far away. "Shall we go back? I'm quite heavy."
Gong Chengjue hummed in agreement, turned around, and a gentle breeze lifted her long hair. Under the lamplight, their figures overlapped, indistinguishable from one another.
She turned her head to look at this scene, and suddenly said, "Gong Chengjue, I... I like you quite a bit."
Gong Chengjue did not stop, but shortened the distance between his steps. He smiled slightly and uttered, "I know."
