The footsteps stopped.
"I promise you, Gong Chengjue!!" Su Ziqing shouted with all her might, as if afraid he would walk away and not hear her.
She didn't want to go through what had just happened again, and judging from his expression, he really seemed like he would just ignore it.
The footsteps turned back this way, and Gong Chengjue returned to the room. "What did you say?"
His bewildered expression suggested that he hadn't heard what she was saying at all.
He did it on purpose, absolutely!
When Su Ziqing met his gaze, she really wanted to grit her teeth, but she still had to say it again, "I agree."
"Promise what?"
Su Ziqing: "..." She struggled again, but realizing she couldn't get out of here alone, she gave in.
"I accept your marriage proposal!!" she said clearly.
"Miss Su doesn't seem very willing?" he said seriously.
"No, I'm very happy!"
Gong Chengjue stopped there, looked at her, and nodded, "Mm."
"Damn it," Su Ziqing lay there unable to move. "I want to leave this place." She didn't want to stay here for even a second longer.
Gong Chengjue bent down...
"Mr. Gong!" Luo Jinhan's heart jumped into his throat when he saw this scene. If he hugged him like that, his wound would definitely reopen.
Su Ziqing, as if struck by a thought, suggested, "How about I let him carry me?"
She pointed at Luo Jinhan.
Gong Chengjue said calmly, "He wouldn't dare."
Luo Jinhan felt a chill run down his spine and looked at Gong Chengjue.
Yes, yes, he wouldn't dare. How could he possibly lay a finger on the girl that Mr. Gong has his eye on?
But Mr. Gong is like this...
"Stay here, or leave now," Gong Chengjue gave Su Ziqing two choices.
Su Ziqing, without even flinching, chose to leave right now.
Gong Chengjue picked her up, his brows furrowed slightly, as if he had aggravated his wound.
"I only weigh a little over 90 pounds..." Su Ziqing emphasized that she was very light.
"Shut up." His wound had reopened, and he didn't want to say anything more.
Su Ziqing obediently shut his mouth. After all, his wound had been so painful a few days ago that it made him faint. Now that the wound had been torn open, it must be hurting again.
Luo Jinhan followed behind them, and every step Gong Chengjue took hurt him.
Feeling completely weak, Su Ziqing was carried out in Gong Chengjue's arms, feeling the warmth emanating from his coat.
Her eyes were fixed on this unfamiliar man, handsome in appearance, his arrogant chin slightly clenched, perhaps because his wound was aching.
Outside the mental hospital, men dressed in uniform black suits stood there, like pine trees.
Snowflakes drifted down from the sky, landing on his head and her brow.
Gong Chengjue carried her into the car, and then he got in.
Su Ziqing saw that the area that had just been stained with a little blood had now become much larger.
"Your wound..."
"Yes, it's cracked."
"Should we go to the clinic to get it bandaged?" she suggested.
“Your grandfather is in the hospital now,” he said casually.
"That's perfect, it's on my way." Her eyes turned slightly cold. "My grandfather..."
“He’s passed away.” He looked at her and said.
Although she already knew about this terrible news when she was at the Su family home, the fact that she was confirmed it again made Su Ziqing unable to control her tears from welling up in her eyes.
She remained silent on the way to the hospital, and her strength gradually returned.
By the time the car arrived at the hospital entrance, Su Ziqing had already recovered.
She looked at Gong Chengjue's blood-stained wound and said, "Go get it bandaged first." Then she pushed open the door and got out of the car.
Luo Jinhan watched Su Ziqing's retreating figure, feeling that she was being a bit ungrateful, as Mr. Gong's wounds had now reopened.
……………………
Su Shilin's body lay in the morgue. Not a single member of the Su family was seen at the hospital.
Su Ziqing arrived at the morgue, where the air was chilling.
After a person dies, the body stiffens. It seems that only after going through this process can the closest relatives accept that their loved one is truly gone.
Su Ziqing wanted to feel her grandfather's warmth, but all she could touch was coldness and stiffness.
"Grandpa..." Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
Two people suddenly burst into the morgue and were startled to see Su Ziqing standing there.
After all, the morgue is full of dead people, so if you suddenly see a living person standing there, you might think you've seen a ghost.
Su Ziqing wiped away her tears.
The two men went over to move Su Shilin's body out.
Su Ziqing's face darkened. "What are you doing?"
"This is Mr. Su's intention." As soon as he finished speaking, the two were about to move the body when Su Ziqing stopped them, "Stop."
"Which Mr. Su?!" My grandfather just passed away, and they're already at the morgue moving his body?
"Mr. Su Tianming." The two looked at Su Ziqing with difficulty, unsure of her identity. "Miss, could you please move aside?"
It's not clean to touch a corpse directly.
"What does he want you to do?" Su Tianming, the eldest son of Old Master Su, and nominally Su Ziqing's uncle.
“The body needs to be sent to the funeral home,” one of them replied.
"Miss, bodies are sent to the funeral home, please make way." Seeing her stunned expression, the two men carried out Old Master Su's body.
According to procedure, deceased patients should indeed be temporarily kept in the morgue before being sent to the funeral home, but for such an important event, not a single member of the Su family was present.
What did they go about?
