"Shall we go for a drive today?" Xin Yu suddenly suggested, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, like discovering a novel wild fruit by a campfire in Hoshino. "I want to see the scenery of Yumenosaki, just like we did when we looked at the stars in Hoshino."
As the sports car drove out of the villa area, Xinyu looked at the scenery rushing past the window and suddenly remembered the story of Hoshino that Yingzhi had told her at the cake shop. At that time, the moonlight shone on his focused profile, carrying a touch of tenderness as well.
"Look, over there, the maple forest." Eichi pointed to the distance, where a forest of golden-red maple leaves swayed in the morning light, like a burning flame. This reminded her of the promise Eichi made to her by the campfire in Hoshino: "No matter what the future holds, I will be by your side." Now, on this drive, that promise felt even more real and heartwarming.
"Want to listen to a song?" Yingzhi took out his phone from his pocket and played the piece they played when they first met in Hoshino. Xinyu leaned gently on Yingzhi's shoulder, swaying gently to the rhythm of the music.
"Yingzhi," Xinyu said softly, her voice tinged with a hint of coquettishness, "why did you choose to play this piece back then?"
Yingzhi smiled, her eyes full of tenderness: "Because this song contains my first promise to you."
Suddenly, the sports car made a slight noise. Yingzhi immediately pulled over and checked the car. Xinyu took out a picnic basket from the car, filled with strawberry cake and wild honey—something she had specially prepared the night before, just like at the cake shop, showing her thoughtfulness towards Yingzhi.
"Have something to eat," Xinyu said with a smile, handing him a piece of strawberry cake. "It's made with Hoshino's wild honey; it's very sweet."
Yingzhi took a bite, and the refreshing aroma of strawberries and the sweetness of cream intertwined in her mouth, making his eyes light up: "It's really delicious!" This reminded her of the expression on his face when he praised her cakes at the cake shop.
"This is my second promise to you," Xinyu said softly, tears welling in her eyes, "no matter what the future holds, I will always prepare the sweetest cake for you."
As the sports car restarted and drove home, the setting sun cast long shadows of them.
"This is for you," Yingzhi said softly, a hint of nervousness in her voice, "I hope our love, like the scenery along this drive, will always be full of surprises and warmth."
Tears welled in Xinyu's eyes as she gently pinned the brooch to her collar.
Yingzhi smiled and gently kissed her forehead: "Because of you, my world is so complete."
Under the starry sky of Yumenosaki, the two figures leaned close together. From their first encounter with Hoshino, to their wedding in Yumenosaki, and then their honeymoon in Singapore, their love story has now taken on a new chapter during their drive.
Xinyu gently stroked the maple leaf brooch, recalling every promise he had made. Now, their love had entered a new chapter.
"Yingzhi," Xinyu said softly, her voice filled with determination, "no matter what the future holds, I will always be by your side."
Yingzhi smiled and gently took her hand: "Because of love, all boundaries can be transcended; because of love, people from two different worlds can be closely connected."
Under the starry sky of Yumenosaki, their love story will never end, like a sweet ballad, gently sung through time.
