First date

First date

Today is her and Young-ji's first official date. Since she told Young-ji that she might never be able to return to her original world, their relationship has become closer, but going on a date is a first for them both.

"Xinyu, you're here." Yingzhi's voice came from behind. He was wearing a light blue shirt with a beige knitted cardigan over it, exuding a gentle and elegant aura. He was holding a bunch of wildflowers, the same pale purple flowers that Xinyu loved most when she was in Hoshino.

"Yingzhi, you..." Xinyu looked at him in surprise, her eyes sparkling with emotion.

"This is for you, as beautiful as you." Yingzhi smiled and handed her the bouquet, her movements gentle and natural.

The two walked side by side along the campus path, sunlight filtering through the leaves and casting dappled shadows on them. Yingzhi noticed that Xinyu occasionally glanced at the flowers and plants along the roadside.

Xin Yu listened intently, then suddenly remembered that back in Hoshino, Eichi had also described various plants to her in the same way.

Yingzhi grasped her hand in return, her eyes shining with warmth: "Because I want to remember everything about you."

They arrived at a maple forest on the hill behind the school. The maple leaves there were all red, like a burning flame. Yingzhi led Xinyu to a particularly tall maple tree, which was covered with wish plaques written by students.

"Let's write one too." Yingzhi took out two blank wishing plaques from his pocket and handed one to Xinyu.

Xinyu took the pen, hesitated for a moment, and wrote: "I wish to spend this life with Yingzhi." She secretly glanced at Yingzhi and saw him writing: "May Xinyu be happy forever."

After writing their wishes down, the two hung the wishing plaques on the tree. The maple leaves and the wishing plaques swayed gently together, making a pleasant sound.

"Look over there!" Yingzhi suddenly pointed into the depths of the woods. There was a small lake there, with several river lanterns floating on its surface, shimmering with a warm glow in the sunlight.

"Let's release some river lanterns," Yingzhi suggested. They walked to the lakeside, and Yingzhi took out two handmade river lanterns from her bag, one shaped like a maple leaf and the other like a star.

"The maple leaf represents me, and the star represents you," Yingzhi explained softly, her eyes full of tenderness.

Xinyu nodded, and the two of them placed the river lantern into the water together. The lantern drifted slowly away with the current, just like their love—though the future was unknown, it was full of hope.

As evening fell, they went to a café near the school. Yingzhi ordered a hot cocoa for Xinyu and a cup of black tea for herself. Soft music played in the café, creating a romantic and cozy atmosphere.

"Did you have a good day?" Yingzhi asked softly.

Xinyu smiled and nodded: "I'm so happy, this is the happiest day I've had since I transmigrated."

Yingzhi held her hand: "We'll have many more days like this in the future."

As night fell, the two strolled through the campus. The streetlights along the roadside lit up one by one, casting long shadows of them. Yingzhi suddenly stopped and took a delicate little box out of his pocket.

"This is for you." He opened the box, inside was a maple leaf-shaped necklace, the same style that Xinyu had seen in Xingye.

"This is..." Xinyu looked at the necklace in surprise.

"A tribute to Hoshino, the beginning of Yumenosaki," Eichi said softly, a resolute glint in his eyes.
