The truth to be told

The truth to be told

Moonlight streamed through the stained glass windows of the music room, casting dappled shadows on the black and white piano keys. Xinyu sat at the piano, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the keys, her eyes revealing an unprecedented sense of confusion. Yingzhi stood behind her, his light blue shirt tinged with pale silver by the moonlight. He had just finished a student council meeting, and a trace of fatigue still lingered on his face.

"Yingzhi, we need to talk." Xinyu's voice was soft, but it instantly snapped Yingzhi out of his daze. He sat down next to Xinyu and gently took her hand: "What's wrong? What happened?"

Xinyu took a deep breath and looked at Yingzhi with a determined gaze: "I might not be able to go back."

"Ever since I met Sakuma Rei and Aira, I've been thinking." Kokoro took out a yellowed diary from her bag; it was the one Eichi had found earlier about the Hoshino legend.

"I did say that, but that was my hope, not a fact," Xinyu interrupted him, tears welling in her eyes. "In the legends of Hoshino, only a very few people can travel through time, and even fewer can return. Most time travelers end up staying in the new world."

A flicker of pain crossed Yingzhi's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure: "So what? Wherever you are, I will find you. You said our meeting wasn't accidental, but fate's arrangement."

Xinyu gently shook her head: "Fate brought us together, but fate also determined my destiny."

"And I may never be able to meet those conditions." Xin Yu's voice trembled slightly. "The entrance to Hoshino is closed, like a door that can never be opened again."

Eichi fell silent, moonlight illuminating his face and the determination in his eyes: "Then let's create a new future together. Here, in Yumenosaki, we can have our own story."

"Thank you for being there for me. With you by my side, even if we don't go back, I can be happy and not sad." Xinyu patted Yingzhi on the shoulder and smiled.

Xinyu nestled in Yingzhi's arms, feeling his warm body temperature and firm heartbeat. She knew Yingzhi was right; their story had only just begun. Even if they couldn't return to their original world, they could create new memories here.

"Yingzhi, I..." Xinyu wanted to say something, but was gently interrupted by Yingzhi.

"Don't say sorry, and don't feel like you owe me anything." Yingzhi's voice was gentle yet firm. "Loving someone isn't about what they can give you, but about who they are simply. You are you, my Xinyu."

Under the moonlight, their figures merged into one. Xin Yu knew she might never return to her original world, but here, beside Ying Zhi, she found a new belonging. Their love, like the legend of Xingye, would become an eternal legend.

Their story continues to unfold at Yumenosaki's school. From their initial encounter to facing challenges together, each challenge deepens their bond. And Kokoro finally understands that true home isn't a specific place, but being with the people you love.

"Yingzhi, let's create the future together," Xinyu said softly, her eyes shining with determination.

Yingzhi smiled and nodded, holding her hand tightly: "Okay, let's create a future that belongs only to us."
