Chapter 112 Silent Night

The moment Han Feng's hand touched Su Wanwan's shoulder, he felt her entire body stiffen. Su Wanwan instinctively tried to break free, but her weak resistance was more like a restrained ritual, instantly melting into his arms.

"Wanwan..." Han Feng sighed, his voice so soft it was as if he were afraid of disturbing some fragile treasure, "Why were you so foolish?"

The girl in his arms visibly trembled. Su Wanwan buried her face in his chest, her voice muffled and nasal: "So what?" She looked up, her eyes red-rimmed, her lips stubbornly pouting, "I know it's impossible, but I just... can't control myself."

A tear slid uncontrollably down her cheek, leaving a small, dark stain on Han Feng's shirt. Moonlight streamed in through the gap in the curtains, illuminating her damp eyelashes and refracting delicate light.

Han Feng was stunned. The girl in front of him, who was usually carefree and had a bright smile, now had eyes filled with a vulnerability and stubbornness he had never seen before. This contradictory temperament was strangely familiar.

These two... how come they're even so stubborn, like they were cut from the same mold? Han Feng thought to himself.

At that moment, he unconsciously tightened his arm, while his other hand gently patted Su Wanwan's back, as if soothing a frightened cat. He could feel her rapid breathing gradually calming down, and her tense shoulders slowly relaxing.

"Okay..." About ten minutes later, Su Wanwan suddenly pushed him away, wiped her face haphazardly with the back of her hand, and said, "I'm fine." Her voice was still hoarse from crying, but she forced a smile. "You should go see Sister Mengran quickly; she's been waiting for you for a long time."

Han Feng didn't move, his gaze searching her face: "Are you really alright?"

"Really!" Su Wanwan emphasized, even exaggerating by turning around in a circle. "Look, he's lively and energetic!" She suddenly stepped forward, placed her hands on Han Feng's back, and forcefully pushed him towards the door. "Go on, go on, we've already agreed..."

He stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence. Han Feng turned around sharply: "What did you agree on?"

Su Wanwan's ears turned red at a visible speed: "N-nothing!" She hurriedly opened the door, practically "throwing" Han Feng out, "Goodnight!"

With a loud "bang," the door slammed shut just centimeters from Han Feng's nose. He stood there stunned for two seconds, raised his hand as if to knock and ask what was going on, but ultimately slowly lowered his hand.

On the other side of the door, Su Wanwan slid slowly to the floor, burying her face in her knees. The moonlight quietly enveloped her slender figure, and a few new water stains appeared on the floor.

"Idiot..." she muttered to herself, staring into the empty room. "I promised to help you... but I..."

Han Feng returned to the living room from upstairs and saw Liu Mengran cleaning up the traces of the fight between the group. Hearing footsteps, she turned around, a few strands of hair slipping from behind her ears and swaying gently on her cheeks.

"How are you? Is Wanwan alright?" Her voice was filled with genuine concern.

Han Feng stood by the sofa and shook his head: "It's nothing." His Adam's apple bobbed, but he didn't say anything about what had just happened in the room.

Liu Mengran suddenly smiled, a smile that made Han Feng's heart tremble. She put down the cup in her hand and walked towards him.

"Actually, Wanwan's feelings for you..." Liu Mengran had just started to speak when Han Feng subconsciously interrupted her.

"I know, but now..." His voice trailed off, as if he suddenly realized he was about to say something dangerous. The girl in front of him had eyes as bright as stars, and he was afraid that any word he said next would hurt her.

Unexpectedly, Liu Mengran stepped forward and gently hugged him. Han Feng froze instantly, able to smell the faint fragrance of her hair. Her embrace was light, yet it made his chest tighten.

"I understand all of that." Liu Mengran's voice was muffled on his shoulder. "But this isn't fair to Wanwan." She looked up, a smile still playing on her lips. "We all know you're a very outstanding person, and after spending so much time with you, we've all been attracted by your charm."

Han Feng's mind went blank. There seemed to be some message hidden in Liu Mengran's words that he couldn't immediately understand. Su Wanwan's words from the room, "We've already agreed," suddenly echoed in his ears, like a lightning bolt cleaving through the fog.

"Wait," Han Feng carefully cupped Liu Mengran's face, his fingertips able to feel the heat of her cheeks, "Just now Wanwan said something like 'you two have agreed'... so what have you agreed on?"

Liu Mengran's face instantly turned as red as a ripe apple, her gaze darting away, unable to meet his eyes. She gently pulled her hand away from Han Feng's, buried her face in his chest, and mumbled only, "You're so lucky."

At that moment, Han Feng felt the world spin. The unspoken understanding between the two girls, the subtle exchanges of glances he had never noticed before, suddenly had a completely new meaning. His heart pounded wildly in his chest, almost breaking his ribs.

Suddenly, Liu Mengran tiptoed, her soft, awkward lips pressing against his. Han Feng's mind went completely blank; he only felt the warm touch on his lips, as delicate as a butterfly gently touching a petal. He instinctively responded to the kiss, his movements equally clumsy yet sincere. The two seemed to have returned to their innocent, first love, exploring each other's warmth in their mingled breaths.

As Liu Mengran stepped back slightly, her eyes were glistening with moisture, and her lips gleamed alluringly from the kiss. She said shyly, "Let's... go to the room."

These words were like a key, unlocking a part of Han Feng that had always been locked away by reason. He bent down, slipped one hand under Liu Mengran's knees, and supported her back with the other, easily lifting her up. Liu Mengran gasped, then wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her burning cheeks against the crook of his neck.

The stairs creaked softly beneath Han Feng's feet. The girl in his arms was as light as a feather, yet so real that his arms trembled. The wall lamps in the second-floor corridor cast a warm yellow glow, gilding the moment with a dreamlike quality.

The master bedroom door was ajar, and Han Feng gently pushed it open with his shoulder. Moonlight streamed through the French windows, casting a silvery glow on the bed. He carefully placed Liu Mengran on the edge of the bed, as if she were a fragile treasure.

Liu Mengran's fingers were still entwined around his collar, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of anticipation and nervousness. Han Feng knelt on one knee, looking up at the girl who was about to fully enter his life, and softly called out, "Mengran..."

Her response was to lean down again, sealing his unspoken words with a kiss. This time, there was less initial awkwardness and more certainty. Han Feng's hand caressed her waist, feeling the warm curves beneath the fabric. Their breathing gradually synchronized, their heartbeats clearly audible in the quiet room.

As Liu Mengran's fingers unbuttoned the first button of his shirt, Han Feng suddenly grasped her hand and kissed her palm: "Are you sure?"

A flicker of emotion crossed Liu Mengran's eyes, quickly transforming into an even more resolute tenderness. She leaned close to his ear, her warm breath sending a shiver down Han Feng's spine: "From the day you rescued me from Qishi, I knew it."

These words shattered Han Feng's last shred of restraint. He rolled over and gently pressed Liu Mengran onto the bed, his fingers running through her long hair, spreading out like a waterfall in the moonlight. Their figures gradually merged into one, casting tender silhouettes on the white sheets.

Hearing the commotion next door, Su Wanwan laughed, but her smile was tinged with shyness, seemingly about the promise she made with Liu Mengran.

Tonight is destined to be sleepless.
