Chapter 152 Awakening from a Dream

Han Feng stood blankly in front of Su Wanwan's door, somewhat at a loss. He raised and lowered his hand to knock countless times, but hesitated to take that step.

Liu Mengran's words, "Wanwan and I have already agreed," echoed in his mind, each word like a small hammer striking his temples.

"What am I thinking about at a time like this?" Han Feng muttered to himself, and finally gently knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Su Wanwan's voice came through the door, slightly nasal.

"It's me." Han Feng's throat tightened. "Can...can I come in?"

After a brief silence, the door lock clicked softly. Su Wanwan opened the door, wearing loose cartoon pajamas, her hair loosely tied in a ponytail, a few stray hairs hanging down beside her ears. Seeing Han Feng standing in the doorway, her eyes widened slightly, like a startled rabbit.

"Where's Sister Mengran?" She subconsciously looked behind Han Feng.

"She...is asleep." Han Feng stood awkwardly in the doorway. "Can I come in and talk?"

Su Wanwan's ears instantly turned red, but she still stepped aside to make way. Han Feng entered the room, looking at the decorations, his thoughts involuntarily returning to the time when he had held Su Wanwan and comforted her for a long time in this very place.

"Sit...sit down." Su Wanwan pointed to the beanbag chair next to the bed, then sat on the edge of the bed, her hands nervously twisting together.

Han Feng sat down, an arm's length apart from the other, yet it felt as if an entire galaxy stretched between them. Silence filled the room, broken only by the soft ticking of the wall clock.

Han Feng's gaze swept over Su Wanwan's desk. The seemingly messy desk revealed how Su Wanwan usually spent her time alone in her room. This girl always used her liveliness to mask her inner sensitivity and used technology to protect her vulnerability. But now, she was so nervous that even her fingers were trembling slightly.

"Aren't you going to keep Mengran company..." Su Wanwan finally broke the silence, her voice eight octaves lower than usual, "What brings you here?"

Han Feng took a deep breath: "Wanwan, I..." He hesitated, then changed his mind, "Did you and Mengran make some kind of agreement?"

Su Wanwan's body visibly stiffened. Her fingers unconsciously gripped the hem of her pajamas, her eyes darting around: "Wh...what agreement? I don't know what you're talking about..."

Seeing her flustered state, Han Feng suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. He leaned forward, closing the distance between them: "Wanwan, look at me."

Su Wanwan slowly raised her head, her pupils flashing with unease under the desk lamp.

"I know you feel this way about me..." Han Feng struggled to find the words, "but I'm also afraid it wouldn't be fair to you."

The air in the room seemed to freeze. Su Wanwan's breathing became rapid, her chest heaving violently. Suddenly, she raised her head, her eyes flashing with a resolve Han Feng had never seen before:

"And what about you?" Her voice, no longer trembling, asked, "Do you have any feelings for me?"

This direct question hit Han Feng like a punch to the stomach. He opened his mouth, only to find that all his prepared words were pale and powerless. Countless images flashed through his mind, all the things he and Su Wanwan had experienced, vividly clear in his memory.

It seems that without realizing it, I've come to regard Su Wanwan as one of my own. Could it be because of what we said last time, that we're family?

Han Feng closed his eyes, letting the answer in his heart surface. When he opened his eyes again, all his hesitation had vanished. He nodded slowly, the movement light yet carrying immense weight.

Su Wanwan's pupils dilated suddenly, and her lips trembled slightly. The next second, she pounced on Han Feng like a bullet, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. Han Feng was thrown backward by the sudden force, his back sinking into the soft beanbag chair.

"Idiot! You big idiot!" Su Wanwan buried her face in his shoulder, her voice muffled, "Do you know how long I've waited to hear that?"

Han Feng's hand hovered in the air before gently landing on her back. Su Wanwan's body was even more slender than he had imagined; the outline of her spine was clearly visible beneath her thin nightgown. She exuded the sweet scent of strawberry shampoo, quite different from Liu Mengran's delicate jasmine fragrance, yet it made his heart race just as quickly.

"Wanwan..." Han Feng finally hugged her gently back, "This is a little unfair to both you and Mengran..."

"No, that's not true!" Su Wanwan raised her head, her nose red, but her eyes gleaming with a strange light. "I already talked to Sister Mengran! She said... she said..." Her voice suddenly lowered, becoming a mosquito-like hum, "She said that someone like you is destined to be more than just one..."

Han Feng's mind went blank. He grabbed Su Wanwan's shoulders abruptly: "What do you mean?"

Su Wanwan's face flushed crimson, yet she stubbornly looked him straight in the eye: "It means exactly what it says! Sister Mengran said... you might become very powerful in the future, and many people will like you... She doesn't care, as long as you care about her, that's enough..." Her voice trailed off, "And then I said... I don't care either..."

Han Feng was utterly shocked. He had never imagined that Liu Mengran would have such thoughts, let alone that the two girls had reached some kind of consensus without his knowledge. This completely overturned his understanding of relationships.

"When...did you two start talking?"

"Just last time." Su Wanwan finally let go of him, sat back on the edge of the bed, her fingers nervously fidgeting with the hem of her clothes. "Sister Mengran talked to me for a long time... She said she could tell how I felt about you... and that you actually felt the same way..."

Han Feng rubbed his forehead, suddenly realizing that his emotional intelligence was probably shockingly low. Both girls had seen through it all, yet he had been running away from it.

"So..." he struggled to find the words, "you mean..."

"Idiot!" Su Wanwan grabbed another cushion and threw it at him. "Do I have to spell it out for you?" Tears welled in her eyes, but a sly smile played on her lips. "It means... Mengran and I both like you, and we accept each other's existence!"

This blunt declaration struck Han Feng like a bolt of lightning. He sat frozen on the sofa, feeling his worldview being rebuilt. The moonlight outside the window seemed even brighter, illuminating Su Wanwan's stubborn yet vulnerable expression clearly.

"This is not scientific..." Han Feng murmured.

"What do you need science for!" Su Wanwan suddenly pounced on him, this time kissing his lips precisely. The kiss was inexperienced and brief, yet it sent a jolt through Han Feng's body.
