Chapter 163 Exposed

Han Feng smiled and nodded: "If you like it, then stay longer. Anyway, I live right across the street, so I can spend more time with you guys."

Han's mother's gaze darted back and forth between her son and the kitchen, then she suddenly lowered her voice: "Xiaofeng, tell me honestly, when did this happen?"

"Pfft—" Han Feng spat out a mouthful of tea and frantically grabbed a tissue to wipe it off.

Mr. Han looked bewildered: "What's all the mystery about?"

Han's mother ignored her husband, staring intently at her son: "Don't play dumb. The way Wanwan and Mengran looked at you, and those little gestures..." She paused meaningfully, "I've been through this."

Han Feng's ears turned red at a visible speed. He opened his mouth, but didn't know where to begin. Deny it? His mother had a sharp eye. Admit it? His father might faint on the spot.

Seeing his stammering, Han's mother sighed, "I knew it." She slapped her husband's thigh, "Old Han, your son's really something, fooling two good girls at once!"

"What?!" Han's father sat bolt upright, his eyes wide as saucers. "Xiao Feng, you..."

"Dad! Mom!" Han Feng was sweating profusely, "It's not what you think..."

"What do you mean?" Mother Han crossed her arms. "When Mengran was serving you food, her eyes were practically watering. And Wanwan, even more so. She's usually such a lively girl, but she blushes as soon as you get close." She narrowed her eyes.

Han Feng was speechless. His mother's keen observation skills were truly wasted if she didn't become a detective.

Han's father looked like he was about to suffocate; his face, already flushed from drinking, now resembled a ripe tomato: "Xiao Feng, although we're not a wealthy family, we still need to be responsible. You...you're like this..."

"Dad, Mom," Han Feng took a deep breath, deciding to be honest, "I'm serious. I mean both of them."

The living room fell into a deathly silence, broken only by the clear sound of water running from the kitchen. Mr. Han's expression shifted several times, finally settling on a complex, conflicted look. Mrs. Han, meanwhile, thoughtfully stroked the rim of her teacup.

After a long silence, Han's mother sighed, "Son, I'm not old-fashioned." She glanced towards the kitchen, her voice lowering, "These two girls are good children; I can tell they genuinely like you."

Han Feng looked up in surprise.

"But," Han's mother suddenly became serious, "if you dare to betray any of them, I will disown you as my son!"

Han's father suddenly coughed: "Wife! How could you...?"

"Shut up!" Han's mother glared at her husband. "Don't you know what kind of person your son is? You've seen it yourself, both of those girls would be wonderful daughters-in-law." She turned to Han Feng, her eyes softening. "I just hope you think this through. You need to give them proper recognition and status; that's very important."

Han Feng's throat tightened, and he nodded emphatically: "I know. Thank you, Mom."

The sound of water in the kitchen stopped, and Su Wanwan came out wiping her hands: "Uncle and Aunt, the dishes are washed!" Seeing the awkward atmosphere between the three, she blinked, "W-Did I disturb you?"

Han's mother immediately put on a smiling face: "No, no, Wanwan, come and sit down." She warmly took Su Wanwan's hand, "You've had a hard day. Why don't you stay here tonight and let Han Feng go back by himself?"

Su Wanwan's face flushed red: "Ah? No, no need, I'm going back over there too, I have work to do tomorrow..."

"Alright then, make sure to close the doors and windows properly when you go to sleep at night. I think the landscaping in the community is quite nice, and I'm worried that some small animals might get in." She glanced at Han Feng meaningfully.

Han Feng almost choked on his own saliva. His mother's words had a hidden meaning!

Just then, the doorbell rang. Han Feng jumped up as if he had been granted a pardon to open the door, where Liu Mengran, who had brought Liu Xiaoran and Wang Hao back, was standing.

"Why did it take you so long to open the door?" Liu Mengran looked at his flushed face with suspicion. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, just a little shock..." Han Feng muttered softly, stepping aside to let her in.

In the living room, Han's mother warmly greeted her: "Mengran's back! Perfect timing, Auntie just made some herbal tea, come and have some."

Liu Mengran accepted the teacup, flattered, but keenly sensed the subtle tension in the atmosphere. She subtly glanced at Su Wanwan, who simply blushed and shook her head.

Mr. Han watched the three young men exchanging glances and sighed helplessly, only to be pinched on the waist by his wife.

"It's getting late. You have work to do tomorrow, so don't worry about us." Han's mother stood up and gave her son a meaningful look.

Han Feng was both amused and exasperated: "Mom, we'll head back now."

"Go to sleep early." Han's mother waved her hand. "Tomorrow morning I want to drink soy milk, and your dad wants to eat xiaolongbao (soup dumplings). Remember to get up early to buy them." After saying that, she pulled Han's father, who was still unaware of what was going on, upstairs.

Han Feng brought Liu Mengran and Su Wanwan home. Liu Mengran was still confused about what had just happened and was about to ask what had happened after she left when Su Wanwan burst out laughing: "Auntie is so amazing..."

Liu Mengran was completely bewildered: "What happened?"

Han Feng wiped his face: "To put it simply... my mom found out."

"Know what?" Liu Mengran asked, then immediately realized what she meant, her face turning bright red to the roots of her neck. "Huh?!"

Su Wanwan laughed so hard she almost fell over: "Auntie also said that if Han Feng dares to let any of us down, she'll disown him as her son!"

Liu Mengran covered her burning cheeks, peeking at Han Feng through her fingers: "Then, where's Uncle?"

"My dad..." Han Feng helplessly shrugged, "He's still processing it."

After a moment of silence, Han Feng spoke first: "It's getting late, let's get some rest." As soon as he finished speaking, the two women ran to their rooms.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two doors slammed shut almost simultaneously, echoing down the corridor. Han Feng stood there, staring at the two closed doors, his lips twitching.

"Auntie said to close the doors and windows properly~" Su Wanwan's voice drifted out from the crack in the door, with an undisguised smile.

"Beware of small animals..." Liu Mengran's voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz, mixed with rustling sounds, probably because she had buried herself completely under the covers.

Han Feng raised his hand to knock on the door, then reluctantly lowered it. His mother's "surprise attack" tonight had completely disrupted his plans. He had originally intended to gradually get his parents to accept this... well, unconventional relationship arrangement.

"Hey, at least tell me which door isn't locked..." Han Feng said in a low voice, making a last-ditch effort.

His response was the simultaneous "click" of locks coming from both bedrooms.

"......"

Han Feng turned away dejectedly, only to hear Su Wanwan add, "By the way, your room has been renovated, you don't need to sleep on the sofa anymore!"

This was an unexpected delight. Han Feng pushed open the door to his long-unused bedroom, and a faint scent of pine wafted out. The previously damaged walls had been repaired to look brand new, and the bed had been replaced with a larger one.

Han Feng sat on the edge of the bed, recalling his mother's knowing look, his father's hesitant expression, and the two girls' blushing faces... All the images swirled in his mind, making his temples throb.

Han Feng shook his head, closed his eyes, and with a thought, his consciousness entered the system space.
