Han Feng stood rooted to the spot, his body ice-cold. Any single orb of light in those images could easily destroy Blue Star. And the Star Soul Master was able to fight against a hundred of them single-handedly...
"I..." Han Feng looked down at his hands, "I'm only at the early stage of the Innate Realm?"
Zero's light flickered slightly: "That's right, the Acquired Realm only offers a glimpse into the power of origin, while the Innate Realm allows one to use that power for their own purposes."
"Then, if we want to reach a higher level, such as leaving Earth, what realm do we need to reach?"
"Only after entering the Great Dao Realm will you possess the ability to travel to the vast universe." Zero paused briefly, then continued, "Upon reaching the Great Dao Realm, each subsequent level adds a Perfection level."
Han Feng smiled wryly. In other words, there were three entire major realms and dozens of minor ranks separating him from the Star Soul Master...
"Why are you telling me this?" Han Feng suddenly looked up. "With my current strength, knowing this would only lead to despair."
Zero's light and shadow drifted in front of Han Feng, revealing for the first time eye-like points of light: "Because the Star Mirror has appeared... they will soon realize that the universe has a new inheritor of the star network map..."
\"them?\"
"The forces in the extraterritorial battlefield have always wanted to invade this cosmic plane, but due to the laws of the universe, experts at the Law Realm cannot enter other cosmic planes. Therefore, disputes over ownership are usually resolved in the extraterritorial battlefield," Zero explained.
"You mean, there are also many powerful beings above the Great Dao Realm in the universe plane to which Blue Star belongs?" Han Feng asked.
Zero nodded: "That's right, but don't let your guard down because of this. After all, the Star Soul Lord has always been very powerful, so those guys above are very wary of him and might even take action against him."
Han Feng frowned; it seemed that things were more complicated than he had imagined.
So he continued, "What do I need to do now to improve my strength faster?"
Zero shook his head, a rare occurrence for him: "I don't know for sure right now either, but quickly collecting three Star Mirrors will greatly help improve your strength."
Han Feng noted all of this down and silently left the cultivation space.
"The Lord of Star Souls...a cosmic plane?" Han Feng sat on his bed, lost in thought.
Three days passed quickly, and today was the day Dongfang Wantang was to come and find Han Feng.
Han Feng glanced at the wall clock for the umpteenth time—9:58. Liu Mengran sat upright on the sofa, while Su Wanwan paced back and forth in the living room, occasionally peering out the window.
"Can you guys relax a bit?" Han Feng rubbed his temples. "It's not like an interview."
Liu Mengran took a deep breath and smoothed out non-existent wrinkles on her skirt: "I've heard that ancient martial arts families are very particular about etiquette. Should I change into something more formal?"
"If she dares to be picky, I'll—" Su Wanwan hadn't finished speaking when the doorbell suddenly rang.
The three of them froze simultaneously. Han Feng took a deep breath and walked towards the entrance. Through the peephole, he saw a figure in plain white—Dongfang Wantang stood outside the door, still wearing a moon-white cheongsam, her long black hair loosely tied up with a wooden hairpin, and holding only a small wicker box in her arms.
The moment the door opened, a faint fragrance wafted in on the morning breeze. Dongfang Wantang nodded slightly: "Excuse me."
"Welcome." Han Feng stepped aside to let her pass, surprised to find that there was no one behind her. "You...came alone?"
Dongfang Wantang smiled slightly: "Otherwise what? Do you want an eight-bearer sedan chair?" She stepped lightly over the threshold, and the crisp sound of porcelain clinking came from the rattan trunk.
The atmosphere in the living room froze the moment Dongfang Wantang appeared. Liu Mengran quickly stood up, while Su Wanwan subconsciously stood beside her, the two girls simultaneously sizing up this uninvited guest.
Up close, Dongfang Wantang's skin was so white it was almost transparent, her eyebrows and eyes were like a painting but she exuded aloofness, and her whole person was like a finely sculpted ice jade statue.
"This is Liu Mengran, and this is Su Wanwan," Han Feng introduced curtly. "This is Dongfang Wantang, from the Dongfang family..."
"Just call me Wantang," Dongfang Wantang suddenly interrupted him, taking two steps forward and bowing slightly. "I've long admired your names, and meeting you today, you are indeed even more outstanding than Han Feng described."
Liu Mengran's ears turned slightly red, and she hurriedly returned the greeting; Su Wanwan stared wide-eyed at Han Feng: "How do you usually describe us?"
Han Feng opened his mouth, but hadn't thought of what to say yet. When had he ever told her about the two women?
Dongfang Wantang naturally walked to the sofa and put down the wicker trunk: "I brought some homemade flower tea. I heard Miss Liu likes jasmine?"
"Ah, yes..." Liu Mengran was flattered.
"Miss Su must be a coffee enthusiast?" Dongfang Wantang magically produced an elegant tin can from the box. "Yunnan small-bean coffee, best for hand-drip brewing."
Su Wanwan instantly forgot her earlier hostility and curiously leaned closer: "How did you know I like...?"
"If you want to know, you don't need anyone to tell me," Dongfang Wantang chuckled, glancing towards the kitchen at the same time. "Speaking of which, isn't it almost lunchtime?"
All three pairs of eyes turned to Han Feng.
"I'll go cook!" Han Feng wisely surrendered, raising his hands and scurrying into the kitchen as if fleeing. Behind him came Dongfang Wantang's gentle voice: "Need any help?"
"No need!" the three voices answered in unison—Liu Mengran and Su Wanwan clearly didn't want to miss this opportunity for "interrogation."
The moment the kitchen door closed, Han Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He had expected to hear a tense standoff, but instead, he heard laughter. Several girls were chatting about something, and even Su Wanwan managed to lead the conversation into discussing variety shows.
(What kind of person is this woman...?)
Han Feng listened intently as he chopped vegetables. The conversation rose and fell, occasionally punctuated by Su Wanwan's signature loud laughter, interspersed with Liu Mengran's gentle agreement. As the aroma of boiled fish began to waft through the air, the kitchen door was gently pushed open.
"Would you like it plated?" Dongfang Wantang appeared at the door at some point, her sleeves rolled up to her elbows, revealing her slender yet muscular forearms.
Han Feng nearly cut his finger: "Where are they?"
"Studying the horoscope on the balcony." Dongfang Wantang naturally took the knife from his hand. "Miss Su has a great understanding of astrology."
Han Feng stared in disbelief at her skillful knife work. The radish was sliced into paper-thin pieces under her knife. This technique could not be mastered without ten years of practice.
"I didn't expect you to..."
"I didn't expect you to cook?" Dongfang Wantang smiled. "I'm usually in the family's secret realm, and besides astrologering, I mostly cook."
